For me also important: I have keyboard and mouse from steelseries. I like the quality around the brand. As the nova pro wireless is not the best in all areas it is still good and comfortable. That's why I have taken steelseries Nova pro wireless. But not for gaming! For home office work! The micro is excellent 👌 in Ms teams. And I i can wear the headphones the whole day without pain! Jabra had good quality but I got pains after 15 min.

Came back in cold war and now playing in mw2 (Still Weird saying mw2 again btw) at 24. Realized im just as much of a angry tryhard as i was 10 years ago but with slightly less polished skill. I bought the Audeze Maxwell's after watching your review on them and I've gotta say, it's by far one of the best sounding headphones I've ever had. As for the weight it definitely is heavier but honestly I never notice it because Audeze distributes the weight so well with the headband. The one thing I hate is that the AudezeHQ software absolutely blows.

I've been eyeing this for a while. I have a Pulse for my PS5. I like it. It's got great functionality for multiplayer games. It's not the best sounding headset I have. But I like it. Also, I have nothing for the XBOX. I have a few wired headsets for my gaming PC. I might be able to use them with the XBOX, but it would be corded. And might need to use some extension cables for the audio to reach. But I'd rather use a wireless headset instead. So the Maxwell for the XBOX, and possibly single player PS5 games might be my answer.

  • @arokh72

One reason I picked the Audeze Maxwells was I was sick of the plastic on headsets breaking after a few months, of just ordinary all day use. The mostly metal construction was one of the key features that got me there. I was willing to pay that premium, almost $500 AUD, for a quality headset that could last me years instead of months. I'm not an audiophile, nor play FPS, so as long as they sound good my ears I'm happy, and I did notice a difference from my previous Sony WH headset to the Maxwells. It was a nice bonus to me. I avoided active noise cancelling as I need to hear my partner, and with the Sony unit the nc mic dug into my ear, very uncomfortable.

Isn't the bit that connects the cups to the band made of plastic? I know I'm passing on it because of the bluetooth but that plastic bit concerns me after my experiences with the stealth 700s and some steel series sets.

I guess the real determining factor for most people initially when looking to purchase a product like a headset is budget, what is realistically available at your price point. Compare, weigh up the different options, and buy the headset that best matches your own personal needs. I could be wrong its just my personal opinion. love your content btw brother. 👍

I have wired including Focal Clears, Senheisser X58 Jubilees (both open backs with natural sound and just right amount of bass - really beautiful clear sound), Philips 9600s (close back - more bass-ee). I have wireless ones as well including Audeze Penrose (open back - planar magnetics) and Corsair HS70SE and both offer wireless freedom and great open world sound and good for lil bit of fps titles as well. In fact all do. The Philips thou are bass heavy and better imo, for music than gaming. The Focal Clears, are pricey, but you’ll be amazed at their gaming and music listening sounds 🥳🤤🤤☺🥹

I recently had the stealths, great headset, the max volume on ps5 was limited though, was just loud enough on absolute max volume, yes I turned up the ps5 volume. I sent them back and retuned to Nova pro - WIRED for now. could not stand the wireless version with that dumb ANC inside the ear cup, I mean Jesus what was they thinking !!!! I tried the Penrose and this was before W/cushions. They sounded good but comfort was the worst! so now I am curious about the Maxwell. I like FPS but I heard ALOT about phasing issues that messes with pin point accuracy and the limited sound stage, so it will be interesting also the limited adjustability of the head band, especially with the non-elesticated suspension band, at least the nova pro has some forgiveness in that regard. Obviously it's just too hard of a task for headphone companies to get all this right ? I mean my dream would be :
Comfort and size of the Epos h6 pro cushions
FPS Imaging of the nova pro
Mic of the Corsiar HS bus retractable like the Nova pro
    Bass of the Stealth pro
App design of the TB Stealth pro
option of having the external DAC like the Nova pro line
changeable battery with ( incase the battery becomes defective) or you forget to charge.
The option to have both leather and memory foam type ear cushions
    Fully adjustable headband!
Sound quality overall of the Maxwell
option of open back and closed headset
cross compatible will all systems like the Nova pro
Really wish I could involved with these headset companies and bang their heads together, for christ sake!

Went from Arctis Pros wirelless to Nova Pros wireless. Wasnt shocked by the upgrade regarding sound quality (i think it has good spatial but a bit "boring" not immersive sound) and hated the ANC pressure point.
Switched to Turtle beach Pro and found it was a bit more immersive and better overall quality, maybe slightly less spatial sound quality than the Nova pros but doubt that, but hated the button lay out of those.
Am now waiting for the Audeze Maxwells to be on stock again...

The mic on the SS Nova Pro Wireless is horrible.
If you plan on using voice chat (game, casual, work), do not get the Nova’s.

Now pro wired (Xbox version) has an amazing dac amp with eq ability and the headset itself is super comfortable and is good res certified. Those are 2 totally different headsets in different price points and sound categories.
The nova pro wired is amazing for gaming and movies, and the dac amp, it comes with can be used with other wired headphones as well

I’ll give you my thoughts on a gaming headset: the Astro A50 wireless gaming headset is trash. Period, point blank. It has no Bluetooth capabilities whatsoever, no Noise Cancelling whatsoever, it’s flimsy and feels cheap AF, it’s clearly overpriced, and it uses a micro USB in 2023.
But there are 3 categories that makes it STILL the most sought after gaming headset since 2016…the sound is really good, the base station can connect using optical out, and it has 12ms of latency in a wireless gaming headset. To this day, even those ‘premium’ high-level, feature-rich headsets you mentioned (and they are really good, don’t get me wrong) are lucky to hit around 30ms. For serious gamers (FPS/Fighters) 12ms (less than a frame of animation) compared to 28-30ms of sound latency is kinda big. I’ve got a pair of Astro A50 hooked to an LG C2 TV with optical out. I SO DESPERATELY want to get rid of it for a more modern headset that supports Bluetooth and RF. But not at the expense of optical out (which has better sound quality than 3.5 mm) and times 2 of the sound latency.
There is a reason music producers do not use wireless/Bluetooth headsets WHATSOEVER. Serious/competitive gamers don’t either, for the same reason (unless it’s an Astro A50)…

yeah I think the ANC craze currently is not that important. it messes with a good sound to much to be a "gaming" feature. Maybe just as a lifestyle, daily use option
