I bought my Hellcat Pro in May 2022. Loved it then and I love it now. BUT!…to me, being a senior at 69 when I bought it, it was a bit uncomfortable to conceal carry with an iwb holster. So, since I was so happy with the performance of the Pro I went and bought the Hellcat original (compact) the following July 2022 which is now my everyday conceal carry. I carry the Pro occasionally just so it doesn’t get its feelings hurt! 😂. I am now 70 years old, have lived on an 8 house property 12 years, and, four of us are conceal carry…two of which is one retired county sheriff, and, another retired local police. I, for some odd reason, woke this morning thinking about buying ‘another’ 9mm…I thought, “have I went nuts???? I can only shoot one gun at a time and I already HAVE two”. But I figured shopping online wouldn’t cost me anything…so, I decided on the Glock 19 Gen 5. Long story short, after watching your video I’ll stay with what I have already and save $600 or more on buying the Glock I mentioned….not counting reliving the holster buying escapade! Great video and very informative, straight to the point, and, with no fluff! Stay safe! ~Jim~

I have two glocks (17 gen 3 and 19 gen 5) and a Hellcat. I bought the hellcat when I was in the market for a small 38 ACP pistol. The dealer talked me into giving the Hellcat instead (even though its a 9mm) and I've been very happy with it. The user manual that came with the Hellcat is much easier to read through than the manual that came with my Glocks (this really was a positive for me because, at the time, I was very new to shooting) However, there is something about loading a Hellcat magazine when its fully loaded. It seems like every now and then, it doesn't take the magazine so you have to try loading it again. I don't know if I would face the same situation with the Hellcat Pro, and I'm thinking twice before buying one to find out.

I have both the Glock 19 (gen 5) and the Hellcat Pro. In my opinion these guns are equal out of the box except for the trigger and sights. I absolutely hated the Hellcat Pro trigger and eventually replaced it with an Apex unit. The Hellcat Pro is snappier than the Glock and the slide release is too small. I also replaced the sights on the Glock 19 with a set of TFX Tru Glo Pro sights. With this being said, I would conceal carry either gun now that I have modified both to my liking.

Good video straight to the point. I just want to say something about the Glock sights, I own 2 Glocks the G19 gen4 and the G43x mos, and yes I changed the sights on both, but that’s personal preference the same way I changed the sights on my other firearms. People go out and purchase a real nice vehicle and start buying mods costing hundreds or thousands of dollars, or a real nice home and start remodeling into the thousands, but complaining about Glock sights. Both firearms are great I own both which one would I take if the world was to end it would probably be the Glock because of the 30 round magazine.
Buy the way I see you installed a red dot on the HC, I bet that wasn’t cheap. Anyway I carry both like them both and definitely liked your video.

I love my Glocks but the Glock plastic sights suck, I change them on all my glocks. I am using a SwampFox Sentinal red dot on the Hellcat Pro. It was under 250.00. I did a review on the Swampfox here so check it out.

@@progun45 thanks I will definitely check it out. I was at the range a few years back and I saw this guy ( about 35 years old) shooting 25 yards with a Glock 17 he was making a 3” group. I couldn’t take it anymore ( haha) so I asked him how long has he been shooting he replied he was military and now he is on a SWAT team. Anyway he was using the original plastic Glock sights plus I’m sure he had 20/20 vision.

Fair review. A few thoughts. 1. Metal mags: I don’t think this is a point in that the Glock mags are metal interior with a polymer shell. Very robust and feed lips are well protected. On other hand metal mags of Hellcat allow slightly thinner profile. 2. For larger hands, some may not like the smaller grip of Hellcat. For smaller hands, it may provide better ergonomics. 3. Glock sights suck and need replaced. On the other hand, the cheep sights allow me to replace with my choice without throwing out better sights that may not be to my liking. 4. Glock grip angle can be difficult for people initially, but once accustomed, provides great recoil management. 5. Front serrations are nice touch on Hellcat. I’ve shot Glocks for years, and they are a great gun for hard use. The Hellcat Pro is definitely a strong contender vs the G19. I’m also a fan of the HK P2000, but a very different animal.

Great points.. The Glock Magazines are polymer shell which isn't as strong as metal but not a deal breaker. Glock sights do suck and the first thing I do when I buy a Glock is replace the sights with Truglo TFX Pro sights.
I really appreciate your comment, well presented!

I have both too. I started with the G19. I don't think I would have ever gotten the G if I started with the HCP. It is like night and day! HCP is more expensive but grip, sights, slimmer, and better quality feel/parts overall.
The only thing G beats the HCP is that the G came with a hard case and is cheaper in price. My HCP only came with a fabric zippered bag (no manual, cleaning brush, or trigger lock like in the G)

I have both the G19 (Gen 5) MOS and the Hellcat (original). Both are great for their own reasons. My G19 does experience a 0.5%-1% failure rate at the range (FTF, stovepipe, FTE). I've never had a failure of any sort with the Hellcat. Shockingly reliable. It eats anything. With its 11, 13, & 15 rnd mags, it's now my EDC.

Glock hasn't came up with any new innovation in the last 10 years? How about for the last 30 years. The only difference between those Gen 1 and Gen 5 is a dual recoil spring and front slide serrations. Gl💩ck is mediocre at best and 200 dollars more than it should be

I only have two issues with the hellcat:
    1. It is made by Springfield Armory and they tried to sell out gun owner's 2nd Amendment rights so they could make more money. This is unforgivable and why I will never buy another Springfield product in my life again.
    2. The hellcat is a micro pistol, no matter how Springfield tries to dress it up. If you work as a range officer a few days a week (and weekends), you will see hellcats fail more often than glocks. Now, I am *not* saying hellcats are unreliable, they are just not as reliable as boring old glocks and when your life is on the line, it does matter.
Note: I am not a glock fanboi, I used to be a customer of springfield only (and DD for AR-15s). However, after Springfield screwed us over, I bought a VP9 SK for concealed carry and currently own more springfields than any other manufacturer.

@progun45 agreed! That's what makes guns great!! Well, #1 isn't an opinion, at least the first part about Springfield selling our 2nd amendment out to make more $$$, it happened sadly.
The second part is opinion but I don't support politicians who want to restrict my 2A rights and I don't understand gun owners giving money to a company that supports it. To each their own 🤷‍♂️

The he'll cat pro is not better than the g19. What do yall want them to do??? They are fine like they are and they have changed over the years. Not big changes but I like what they do. They do not need to redo the whole design. Glock is glock. That's what makes them them. They are the best combat pistol. You can make changes yourself if you want all the fancy stuff. Exactly. People seem to forget that Glock pioneered polymer pistols. All other manufacturers are trying to replicate Glock’s success. As for Glock itself- as the old cliché goes- “If it isn’t broken, then don’t try to fix it.”

7:49 Glock liked how HK pioneered the use of polymers. So a young Gaston Glock decided as he was leaving school that balmy afternoon many years ago he will cut through the Black Forrest and sneak a peak into the window of the HK factory. Mein Kampf he exclaimed. I will do this and act like it was me that did this major innovation in firearms. The rest is history.
