I don't care what anyone says, Predator 2 is one of the greatest films ever made. This is the kind of movie that happens when studios DON'T interfere. They filmed that on location in shady parts of LA to the point where the film crew needed protection from other gangs by the local cryps. They found a dead body in the alleyway filming the king Willie scene. They don't make movies like Predator 2 anymore. That movie still to this day looks way advanced for a film that was released in 1990.
I still say Predator 2 is the best one in the franchise. Sure most of the mystery is gone, but the movie expands the universe more.

The Yautja(the predator species) have very strict hunting-laws, meaning that their prey must be something that pose an immediate threat and challenge. If their prey-species is sentient, they are not allowed to kill infants, unarmed civilians, or the pregnant. Breaking these laws(and their hunting trips are recorded in their helmets for the elders to see) will result in being sentenced to death, or being exiled from their clan and homeplanet, depending on the severity.
This is the movie that introduced us to a lot of the Predator lore. We learned that they form a clan based hunting culture, and that they not only hunt humans, but a variety of prey from beyond the universe.
Gotta put yourself in the shoes of someone who saw this when it came out in 1990(and learning the real 1997 was just as lame as 1990). Just seeing the xenomorph skull in a completely different movie franchise was mind blowing. Movie crossovers are a regular thing now, but in 1990, it was unheard of.
I love how what was essentially a prop-crew in-joke spawned its own comics and video games and eventually, movies

and don't forget "Predators" (2010). that film seriously calls back to the original film. i saw it in theaters in New York when it released and i was thoroughly entertained. i thought it was a great film.
I would recommend watching ''Predators'', it's a slight twist on the franchise, but a very good movie.
Predator 2 is a worthy sequel, I was there when they filmed the Subway scene in Alameda CA when I was a kid, Arnold was supposed to be in the sequels but he was written as the guy who was leading the science teams to hunt down the Predators which kinda turned him into a supporting, and Villain type role, plus he was gonna make Total Recall and Terminator 2 during the production of this movie, another thing about this movie is part of the storyline was inspired by the Predator comics which is why there’s an Alien Skull from the Alien movies on the wall of trophies cause the comics are what crossed these two franchises over with one another.

Hi Nia!😊 Keep in mind this is the near future LA at the time, where violence in the streets has increased. Keyes is Gary Busey, Nia. This is before he had a bad motorcycle accident that messed him up pretty bad. His son is an actor too, and there is a strong resemblance. That IS Adam Baldwin who played Jayne on Firefly, Nia. There was also a skull of an alien in the case from the "Alien" films on the ship. There is a small tie in between this film, and the prequel "Prey" (2022) which is worth reacting to. I think you will like that film better than this one. This isn't one of the best predator films, but we get to learn more about the predator. I think the predator would have attacked the child if the gun was real. After he scanned him, he deemed him to be no threat. The Predators seem to hunt one at a time. In the first film the predator ejected in a pod to the jungle from the main ship. In this one it looks like they landed the main ship for some reason. Great reactions to your second Predator film, Nia!!!!🎬👏👏👏👏

Yes they follow a strict code,and it was a sign of respect giving Harrington the gun as a trophy. He won the fight and they respect that. Also if you noticed some carried different weapons and wore different armor. The one that gave Harrington the gun had grey dreads and was more decorative armor indicating a higher position in their higharchy.

Fun tidbit: the drug gang leader who got shot off the roof, was same actor that jumped in pick up trying to stop before it exploded in first Predator film

38:40 They probably consider it a good/noble death to die at the hands of a worthy opponent of some exotic species. So they probably don't mourn when one of their own dies in battle but probably have mixed feelings of disappointment that he lost the battle but consolation that he died the best way possible. Though it's probably even better to die on account of a worthy opponent _and_ still win the battle by also killing that opponent - which is probably what they're aiming for when they initiate the self-destruct sequence when they think their death is inevitable.
I think you should watch predators as well but watch them in order of release but that's just me. You learn a lot about the predators in that movie.

I love Predators. It's not a perfect movie and it may be the weaker one in the four, I don't know. It's been a long time since I've seen it and I haven't had the chance to watch Prey yet... but it's still really good and definitely worth the watch.
I just wish Robert Rodriguez directed it instead of just writing and producing it. I think he would have translated a lot of little things better.

For me, each movie in the franchise was a good watch (even if only once) for the lore, learning more about each "species" of predator, etc. I enjoy them all even if it's as a "turn your brain off and enjoy" kind of experience.
I feel that! I definitely enjoyed the movie and while editing I forgot about how much tension the movie had with the suspense and jump scares

Predators is definitely worth watching a lot of people hate on it because it's not a direct sequel it's more of a spinoff that expands the lore of the films and is a really cool concept

Great sequel very classic Predator 2 starring by Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Bill Paxton, Rubén Blades and María Conchita Alonso. By the way Rubén Blades as danny and María Conchita Alonso as leona both are very famous in latin America as a singers. My favorite Rubén Blades song is Decisiones and my favorite María Conchita Alonso song is Una Noche de Copas. Thank you Nia great reaction excellent

Great reaction like always, for me in my humble opinion i didnt like this one, but there are some fun facts about it. The film got given the green light after the Predator comic book was so successful All these years later, 1987’s Predator is widely regarded as one of the greatest sci-fi action movies ever made, but the film wasn’t actually that big a hit on release. After being met with lukewarm reviews, director John McTiernan’s film made less than $99 million at the global box office - hardly a flop, but not exactly blockbuster money. Patrick Swayze and Steven Seagal were the first actors approached to play Danny Glover’s part. The crew discovered a dead body while shooting, Shooting in downtown LA after sunset threw up a number of challenges for filmmakers, reportedly including resentful residents who threw bags of urine and faeces at the cast and crew. Rats were also commonplace. As if human waste and rodents weren’t bad enough, the crew were confronted with something particularly unpleasant when clearing out an alleyway in preparation for shooting one scene: lying on the ground was a real dead body. Art department co-ordinator Shane Mahan would later say, “The most horrible places I’ve ever had to film in were the alleys in downtown Los Angeles.” And this was the first film to provide a link between Predators and Xenomorphs. The climactic showdown in the Predator’s spaceship features a fan-pleasing Easter egg which soon got fans excited about a possible crossover between the Predator and Alien franchises. A throwaway suggestion from director Stephen Hopkins to special effects maestro Stan Winston led to a Xenomorph head being added to the Predator’s wall of trophy skulls. Arnold Schwarzenegger said to no to this movie because he did not like the new director and the script. And Schwarzenegger was going to co-star in the film, but decided to do Terminator 2: Judgement Day instead. At the end of the movie, the Alien skull on the trophy case on the Predator ship was the idea of Stephen Hopkins, as a way of showing all the different species and creatures the Predators have hunted and killed. The spear weapon used in the film disappeared after filming and was reported as stolen after filming was completed. When the elder Predator handed Glover the gun dating from 1715, writers Jim Thomas and John Thomas had conceived an idea for a possible Predator movie which would take place in a time where there are no modern weapons. You will see the reason why in the movie “PREY”. Keep up the amazing work.

Alien, aliens, predator and prey are the good ones. Predator 2 is worth it for the later throwbacks and references. Alien 3 you can just skip, and alien 4 is fun, but not great. AvP is just action. A little over the top, but kinda fun for the franchise merge. AvP 2 I don't even remember.

It's distinctive, but there's not much to love about P2. Too many different things going on at once that are never really explored, and without the underlying theme of competition that drives the original. I never think about this movie, but regularly find reason to think about the original.

Just my opinion, but Predators and Prey are both good movies. Watch the first two Alien and Aliens. At that point, watch Alien vs. Predator and stop there. Afterwards, it gets corny and stupid.

I would suggest watching Predators instead of Prey. Because Prey is kinda sh!t, just like most Movies now. Not that Predators is a GREAT movie, but its better in comparison. Also Predators adds way more knowledge of everything that needs to be understood.
