Happy belated birthday Dan🎉😊you are doing great work and it warms my heart to see your family helping you out, thank you ❤take care and stay safe, kiwiNZfamz❤
Impressive and lovely! You all are inspiring. I have a deep love of islands on Lake Huron up in that area. It means so much to have all your footage and experience of life there. It is paradise indeed.
Hi Dan, happy belated birthday!!! May the Good Lord grant you many, many more years full of health first and every wish your heart desires. I know that by the time you read this you've already have taken the logs down. In the future, take a picture of anything you want to reconstruct to give you an idea where the logs were. I'm just saying... I know your dad and your mom and your bother are going to give you a hand if you needed. I know this new project is going to involve a lot of work, no doubt about it, you can do it!! God bless you all! A big hug for sweet Lando.
I think you made the right decision with the shed, congrats on being open to change your plan. You should prepare a plan for your new structure. Great to see
Happy Birthday and many more!🎉 Enjoy life and keep God first ❤ what a blessing that you get to live in such a beautiful place! I really enjoy your videos keep up the good work.
HI DAN 👋 COMING A LONG ON YOUR CABIN & STORAGE SHED . I'M GLAD YOU HAVE YOUR BROTHER PETER THERE FOR EXTRA HELP / SO YOU DON'T GET HURT PHYSICALLY 🙏 PLUS HAVE SOME GOOD LOGS LEFT FROM THE STORAGE SHED . GLAD THE WEATHER IS GETTING BETTER, BUT NOT GOOD WITH THE BITING BUGS . BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏❤ENJOYED ☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ☺️ 🙏 THANK YOU ☺️ 🙏HOPE THE FISHING IS GETTING BETTER FOR YOU'LL TOO ☺️ 🙏
Happiest Birthday Dan. Sounds like you had a great time with family there. That metal bar looks like the old fashioned lead bars that plumbers used to seal pipe joints, or an old scale balance, or ballast. Its not used for that nowadays (at least i the USA). I keep pausing video to add comments; when you said you had decided to rebuild, I was excited; I had watched Erik Grankvist of Sweden, who is a young man of your age who built a log cabin on his family's tree covered land. He cut, finished, sawed, notched and lifted logs solely alone with minor help from his grandfather. His techniques are strictly old-school without use of electrical powered machines but the way to peel and notch logs is the same whether you use chainsaw or draw axe. His videos are still on RUclips as "Erik Grankvist". I think you will find his videos fascinating and informative and educational and with your skills already evident, this project plus the cabin you will build for yourself and your future family will be an adventure albeit a different adventure than you have previously enjoyed. I can't wait to see your plans develop.
Hello birthday guy. Hope you had a great time on your birthday. I see & feel you are more at home on the Island than anywhere. Glad to see your cabin is looking good. Are you going to put in a full kitchen & bathroom as I have noticed you only have one toilet?? I would save that building cause it's got history & thats what counts. Cheers
Dan, as always I really enjoy what you are doing but wish you were using good work gloves more to prevent injury as well as for bacterial reasons as well. Happy belated birthday. Are you 20 or 19 now? Glad to see family around you. These will be great memories. Dave
Hey Dan, that lead block does look like a counter weight. That's the first thing I though when I saw it. Then I thought maybe a hammer but the shape doesn't really seem like it was made that way.
that's some good progress Dan , Happy Belated Birthday btw . since both you and Pete want to buy land and homestead , have y'all thought of maybe down the road buying a few acres together on the water with a land bridge so you guys can be close enough to help each other but far enough to do your own thing ? families etc close enough is a good asset to have . something with a Cove to keep Pete's sail boat-boats at etc and other buildings down the road . just a thought .

Happy Birthday. 🎂. Enjoyed the video and happy to see your little visitor - haven’t seen one IRL
I agree with another subscriber; having a strong magnet would be interesting and prevent injuries.

Enjoy your 20th year Dan!!!
I had a neighbor when I was younger that made his own fishing line weights with lead. That was a common practice years ago.
They would melt it down and had molds to pour it in.
That’s a cool idea!

Thank you, I will definitely try to wear gloves more. I’m 20 now..
Feliz Cumpleaños 🎉my friendI hope you had amazing day ❣️
Thanks you I did!
Hey Dan, that lead block does look like a counter weight. That's the first thing I though when I saw it. Then I thought maybe a hammer but the shape doesn't really seem like it was made that way.
1st thought is that it’s a Lead weight for a scale with the steel hanger rusted away. If not then is for melting for plumbing and or shot.

Hey Dan. I also follow the epic family. And have been curious which of your siblings is the oldest.
Save for fishing weights you know what you might need later
Will do!
Happy birthday Dan!
Thank you!
Happy belated birthday!!!
Hi Dan. Maybe it is an anchor. Hole is for a rope.
Happy Birthday! That looked like a dream home for a snake. Do you see many snakes on your island?
I’m thinking the lead weight was on a string with pulleys that kept the door shut.
Wow I never thought of that! That would be a cool thing to add again once I rebuild it.
Happy Birthday Dan! I heard vanilla will help with the bugs.
Thanks! And great to know!
Happy birthday 🎉have a great day!
Thank you! You too!
If they could talk, maybe the logs would divulge their age. 60-70 years old?
Happy belated birthday, get chainsaw an ax sharpened good luck
Thanks! Will do!
♥️💖😇💙💜💝🤍❤️❣️
Dan, have you considered rebuilding the cabin in another location? More flat area, not a slope.
Good door stop, unless you find more pieces
True!
Hello,
Hope you wear some kind of protection touching led. Like mom concern. Old woman.
Wish you the best on your journey.
Plumber's lead.
Fishing lure😂
😂
Do you not work on this old cabin during the week or just when you film?
I usually work on it each day but we had guests up for most of the week this week.
Hey Dan great episode. I stopped in yesterday. I was going to drop off some Thermacell bug repellers for you.
Please do! Are you in the area. Thermacells are the way to go.
