Only got back in to fly fishing this season due to a long long lay off of 6 years due to a torn rotator cuff injury Your videos and uploads on instruction on tying fly’s is fantastic and the fishing locations are outstanding from urban to this one thank you for sharing tight lines to everyone 🎣
I love your laid back videos. A sharp contrast from North American content. The camera work complements the landscape. Very enjoyable videos. Keep at it.
My Dad's ashes are scattered in a loch near where you were in this video. So it was both emotional and uplifting to see you out and covering these waters in your video. We spent many days enjoying the scenery and fishing there and of course being plagued by the wind or midges. There's rarely a happy medium ... :) Thanks for sharing.
Just seeing this video. That loch your fishing is up there with most favourites. Excellent video Sean. Really brilliant pal its a pleasure to watch ye👍
Wot a amazing video I’ve just picked the fly rod back up after gathering dust for many years after seeing your videos it gave me the urge to go back to picking up small wild brown trout in some rivers I used to fish definitely keep your locations under guard mate so much beautiful places have been ruined. Your videos are a treat thanks again.
I just picked a permit up for the tweed wot a beautiful wee untouched river no rubbish in crystal clear and £35 for the year with some good winter grayling moving.
Sean I tried the carron river yesterday on the larbert stretch it had thrown up some really nice small sea trout and I had a couple nice wild brownies all in around the 2lb weight all safely returned to fight another day looking to some remote waters this weekend coming going to have a look on google maps and see where it takes me.
Great to hear from you Andrew! We obviously gravitate to the same kinda water. I’m itching to get back down to Abington for a bit of grayling fishing. But we’ll need a miracle for that to happen any time soon 😂
Yeah, it’s like much of the highlands - shallow lochs that hold lots of small trout. I’m sure there are bigger fish there too but I’ve never caught one. Good for the soul anyway 💪🏼🏴🎣
Excellent video from a truly majestic location, there is soo many unfished places in Scotland, it's amazing. A bit dismayed you never used the scoop net a couple of times though!
Thanks mate! I used to use a chest mount but found that a lot of my footage is just elbows and hands!! The head mount seems to give me much cleaner footage and it's nice and easy to take on and off the visor of my hat 👍🏼
Quality ! A was up a guar dam near loch rannock all this weekend caught 11 about the same size wild fishing is was better than trout fisheries weather doesn’t even bother me but midges !! !!!!
I tried fishing when a young girl but spent most of the time trying to retrieve my bubble float from a tree in the middle of the local loch - seeing you all at one with nature is much more how I envisage it xx p.s my ma loves your accent!p.ps what’s the music?
@@SouthsideFlyFishing absolutely buddy, its giving me plenty of time to save for new kit though so I'm trying to take the positives 😂😂aslong as I can hold off the depression of not wetting a line 👍👍
Hi Sean, love viewing your videos especially the remoteness of this one. May I ask if you need a permit to fish in this area or is it a free fishing zone. Derick.
Sean, I've been fly fishing for about 5-6 years and absolutely love it and have come a long way. Mostly near my home in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado. My only other real passion is travel, so seems natural to combine the two. Now I know you may be a bit partial, but is Scotland generally seen as a desirable fly fishing destination? I am compiling my wish list and I really do hope to tackle it over the next 10-15 years while I'm healthy enough hopefully. Thanks for any input.
@@SouthsideFlyFishing thanks, appreciate the response. I've had a lot of luck on the black Pennel's too in similar waters. If you're ever looking fid a companion for an adventure give me a shout! I'm in the central belt and am keen to explore the little and unknown lochs of perthshire, highlands, etc.!
Hi Sean. Really enjoy watching your videos. Can I please ask what tackle set-up you're using at the beginning of this video? The rod looks shorter than the standard 9' #5. Cheers!
@@SouthsideFlyFishing Passed these waters numerous times on my way Munro bagging. Always thought I should have a day fly fishing in these lochans. Love your urban fishing videos on the White Cart.
@@davidquinn7144 You're about 10 miles and a couple of lochs too far downstream ;). The river that flows out of Loch Laidon is the river Gaur, which can fish really well on its day, as can a few of the larger burns that flow into it. The rannochandtummel.co.uk site has some really good information about fishing in the area. But there's literally miles and miles of water to explore. Hopefully we'll all be able to travel a bit more in 2021. I haven't been back up that way with a rod for a couple of years now
@@SouthsideFlyFishing had some great sport in that area when I was a young man sadly time catches us all to quickly but hope to fish there again before the big fishery in the sky calls me I hope you all the best and tight lines where ever you fish.
