I just found out I'll be in Scotland for the first time next may... My God My God...I'm beside myself.... I wanna fish it ALLLLLL!!!! Yeah Come On!!! Absolute dream come true... Long way off... The world is welcome to end.... Once i'm on the bank of a river in Scotland with a beautiful brownie on the end of my line.... It looks amazing gentlemen
Well, we got a cold snap and strong winds here in CT- It was downright cold this morning. Wooly Buggers and fast sinking tips and short leaders are the rules right now. We got a warm-up coming so I expect to see good hatches and dry fly fishing this week.
Yes bud, here in Edinburgh it’s my go to tactic. Been at it a few years, to my mind beats any dry fly or nymph eats. Love watching them hunting down the streamer.
Nice work all round - I grew up in the Borders and my very first trout was from the Teviot at Nisbet - Early April wet fly. The Tweed has a huge number of tribs - some of the most enticing are the small waters up in the hills - top of the Kale, Ale, Jed, Rule etc etc etc. Enjoy
I grew up in Berwick on Tweed ... I spent many many hours, until after dark up the Whiteadder, the last river to run into the Tweed. Special places to get totally lost and emersed in.
Cheers Andrew! I know I’ll be surprised if I top that fish this season. But there are some lunkers coming off the bigger rivers at the moment so you never know! 🤞🏼
Brilliant love your videos not fished for a while fished in South Island of new Zealand and am a stone throw from the annan love small steam fishing keep doing it thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Nice one Sean! I used to fish in the White Cart as a kid and have taken up fishing again as we now live in the Scottish Borders! Theres a little tributory of the Tweed near our house, Ive taken mostly small trout on the fly but today I went out and caught one around a pound! I was more confident after watching this video and put on a fresh leader, a small dry fly and a nymph on the point. Cheers!
I'm really glad you make these videos, Sean. I live in Paisley and travel quite widely to get fishing places I can enjoy on my own. There is a simple pleasure in fishing and you encapsulate it. I think you should do a trip to New Zealand or the US to do the same thing there. Cheers, Mate.
Good stuff as always Sean cracking fish Conan wont want to take you out again haha, these wee tribs have some solid fishing in them was up one the other day which delivered some really nice fish for me it was a first trying the water but proved to be a good decision with the fish it produced, good thing about these places being overlooked a bit is the fish get left alone and not hammered by anglers. Tight Lines mate.
Cheers Marco! You're quite right about the tributaries. I used to think the bigger fish just moved into them to spawn, but I know of a few that hold some absolute lunkers all season long. But the locations are best kept a secret 😉. Tight lines matey 🙏🏼🐟🎣
Great job man!! Your videos are like a gift man. Thank you very much for your videos. I hope to go one day with you big man in one of your fishing trips. Take care!
Another banger video man!! This got me amped to go get on the river today even though it’s cold!! Also I really appreciated the dolly zoom you did with your drone that’s a very cool camera angle I need to learn how to do with my drone. Cheers!
Sean, I used to fish a tributary of the Tweed called the Lyne Water, from Lyne Junction down to the Tweed and then the Tweed down to Manor Bridge and spent many happy days there. Never caught a fish that big though!
Cheers Robin! I've barely fished the Tweed system but I'm sure there are a tonne of good tributaries down that way. Beautiful bit of the world too! Tight lines 🙏🏼🐟
If it's anything like the rivers over my way, it probably needs a good bit of rain. Late evenings might be worth a shot if the water stays low. Tight lines mate 🙏🏼🎣
Just stumbled across your channel and now addicted; your vids are very watchable - the cinematography and content is great! Gets me itching to get back on the river - I used to fish the Kelvin during my post-grad time in Glasgow. I’ve recently gone glass and it’s relaxing, but fun when you hook into something! Good to see you extolling the virtues also, on here and in print this month - well done !D Subbed!
Cheers Matt! I've yet to fish the Kelvin believe it or not 😂. The White Cart is two minutes away so I get my fix of urban trouting there. And yes, I've really come to love glass rods. They always seem to add an extra dimension to the fishing 🙏🏼🐟
What an outstandingly well edited video, do you have a background in videography? Thoroughly enjoyed this, would be a pleasure to head out filming with you one day if you fancied it. New subscriber here!
Hello, I hope it's a fish and release game in order to keep the rivers alive and the country 🏴 as well.
Cheers,
Lionel

Amazing video as always mate!

Si es muy agradable pescar con mosca en ríos pequeños o afluentes.
Dese chile.

Im fishing the teviot and having 0 luck recently, not sure if it's because it's still early doors or what
Cheers Robin! I've barely fished the Tweed system but I'm sure there are a tonne of good tributaries down that way. Beautiful bit of the world too! Tight lines 🙏🏼🐟

@@SouthsideFlyFishing reckon it's a better shout to target the tributaries of the tweed ??

Love your videos. Thought you'd ditched the beard at the start😂
Cheers Ben! No way I'm losing the beard 😂🤙🏼
That was a monster, but the first fish of the year on a dry fly is always a "big" fish.
I know exactly what you mean Cody! Nothing beats a dry fly eat 🙏🏼🐟🎣
They don’t come better than that, why bother with Salmon?, fab, well done old boy.
Hi which fly pattern did you catch it on…..
