    good video. I do my 2017 Cayenne oil change at home since bought it in 2017. The oil filter housing on my base Cayenne sits vertical, driver side of the engine

    $500 for an oil change is absurd for how simple this job is. I was assuming it'd be like changing oil on an Audi R8 with 7 different drain plugs.
    Driving onto ramps with blocks at the end is so smart, I've never thought about that. I've been putting the passenger tire up onto the curb with our SUV here in NYC since we don't have a garage and that gives me enough room to work under without a jack. I could theoretically change oil without having to lift our SUV up, but I like using a 3 gallon bucket so there's less distance for the oil to spill.
    Are those crush washers reusable? I didn't see any mention of it being replaced.

      The price the dealer charges is crazy high in my area. The crush washer should be replaced, but unfortunately, I thought I had a new one and didn't realize it til I already drained the oil that i didnt... Will definitely change next time.... thats smart putting the suv on the curb. Well thanks for watching

      You SHOULD replace the washer every oil change regardless of the vehicle but most washers last 30k miles(or more yet varies depending upon manufacture and previous oil changes done) as some oil stops simply put the same drain plug and gasket(washer) back on if it didn’t struggle too much coming off and back on or if the gasket isn’t worn torn

    Great video! I have a question. Right next to the undercarriage panel, on the right hand side (as you're facing the car) on the big metal block with big holes, there is an wet area that looks like metal welding. Do you happen to know why is that? Better seen at min 4:04, next to your right hand; the welding close to the hole looks wet.

      I normally change mine 12k-15k miles. Ussually, once the service light comes on, I change it within the next 2- 3 months.

    Good Job. 1. What engine do you have in your rig?
    2. How many quarts are required?

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  20 дней назад

      3.6L V6
      I think they say it's normally 9 quarts, but I only measured 8.5 quarts that came out. So I put in slightly less and then checked it. Well, thanks for watching

    Has you had a lot of maintenance issues with this vehicle?

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  5 месяцев назад +2

      I've had a lot of very minor issues that were easily fixed. In all the years I've owned It, I put less than $1k yearly into the vehicle on maintenance or repairs. But I do have the leather on the dash peeling off on the passenger side. which is a known issue in porsches with leather dashboards. Well, thanks for watching

    how much torques for drain plug and oil filter?

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  Месяц назад +1

      Normally, 37 ft lb for the drain plug and 19 for oil filter housing, but check with your dealer on your specific model and year vehicle

    You can’t check the oil level, drive 10 miles 😂

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  3 месяца назад

      I know it's ridiculous.
      I had to fill it to almost what I thought was full but not overfill. Drive it and bring extra oil with me. As soon as it registers the oil level, pull over add more if needed. We'll thank you for watching

    Why did you not use the new copper washer for the drain plug? It came with the new oil filter!
    And you know, the drain plug and oil filter housing require a certain torque!
    Driving a Porsche and do not have enough money to buy a 36 mm wrench?

    • @onesimpledad
      @onesimpledad  6 месяцев назад +6

      The new copper washer was the wrong size.... next time, I'll buy the oil filter from the Porsche dealer and make sure I get a new crush washer. The reason for not having the 36 mm wasn't about money I was told it was a 31mm I drained the oil and went to change the oil filter only to find I didn't have the right size socket. Since i didn't have another vechile at the time, i had to make due with what I had. Well, thanks for watching

      As a tech, I completely agree. Fun fact, more euro cars and hybrids need to do the same fir an accurate read as well.
