Welcome Back to PLUS CHARGE
Muscle car aficionados take heart: the future of electric cars from Dodge is mean, menacing, and loud. Proof: The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept teases the production electric muscle car coming in 2024 amid promises it will beat all the performance metrics Dodge has laid down to date. Yes, the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT is powered by batteries and electric motors, but the air still swooshes through chambers and pipes for a rumble very similar to the roar of a Hemi Hellcat V-8 in today's Dodge Chargers and Challengers. It is only when the electric Charger is being turned off that the final whirr reminds you it is a battery-electric car. And no melted jellybean shape here the car is sleek, powerful, and true to Dodge muscle car DNA. The Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept has been imbued with the looks and sounds that should appeal to the muscle car brotherhood customer base. The concept is Dodge's vision of its replacement for the internal combustion engine muscle cars that will soon go out of production. The last Dodge Chargers and Dodge Challengers will roll off the line at the Brampton, Ontario, plant in December 2023. In this video, we are looking into MUSCLE EV: The Electric Dodge Charger Daytona SRT!

No EV will be a muscle car.
That’s why they are Called eMuscle and not actual muscle
All EVs remind me of slot cars! When fully charged they run lightening fast! When off, their off
A battery operated dilldow on wheels. Feel the vibrations!
Nice hype but what are the true charging specs? If they don't get that right nothing else matters.
I would love to see it on the strip against the Hellcat
Thanks for sharing your comment! We are also excited to see strip against hellcat!
Hellcat 800 hp, eCharger 1000 hp plus instant acceleration ... should be no contest!
@@powerpointpaladin6911 this new Dodge isn't instant acceleration it has a three-speed transmission
ME TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
@@powerpointpaladin6911 Please just look at all the videos showing Plaids literally smoking everything Dodge has with an engine. Plaids run 9.2-9.3 quarter miles, from the jump so if the new dodge can't top this, it's GAME OVER.
It’s fascinating cool 😎 design ❤
Yay, An electric hatchback that growls
I dont consider EV's cars. Nothing will beat feel and the pure raw sound of an internal combustion engine. No matter how nice the EV's are like the Rivian Suv's etc, they miss one thing, A FOCKING ENGINE!!
While I can appreciate the appeal of a loud and powerful engine, Electric vehicles offer unique benefits such as instant torque and sustainability, while traditional cars have their own appeal. It's all about personal preference!😍
@@plugcharge Old enough to say "old school"!
@@plugcharge sustainability my ass you know how much of a pain in the ass it is to recycle used dead batteries???
AMEN my friend
@@plugcharge As the industry is shifting towards electrification there are less and less ICE cars announced, so maybe in 10 or 15 years we will arrive at a point where no choice between electric and ICE will be left. That means you WILL have to drive an EV at some point as modern cars are not built to last and classic cars can't just be built anew. And that's the thing: There is no real choice and personal preference in this, it's just a question about buying this (Dodge Charger EV), as this is one of only few ''enthusiast EVs'' or waiting and hoping that some manufacturer comes up with something that isn't only fast but is in some other way different, maybe 'has a soul' or something close to it. Even though I'm on the EV side because of the sustainability (as long as batteries get recycled), I still wish that in the future there will be place for (synthetic)petrol-lovers, but as it seems for now, there is no preference and there is no real choice.
I think the Arkansas State Police will be interested.
yes not fsst eltr miami vice farri
That’s not what I’d want my tax money paying for, !!!! Give them Electric mail man trucks , lol.even better . meter maids, lol..
yea it's always funny to hear the reports of the bad-guys outrunning those EV cop-cars that always run out of juice and come to a complete halt LOL
i would love to see this car come to life and see if it lives up to legend.
i think it would be an amazing car and i can't wait to see it.
8 years from now when the battery needs replaced you'll have an expensive boat anchor!!!🤣🤣🤣
Like high performance engines don't blow up or need expensive rebuilds.
@@JohnSmith-ps7wp I can buy two crate engines with money left over for what one battery cost, and the engines do not have a limited shelf life.
@@JohnSmith-ps7wp I know plenty of people who take their daily drivers to the strip. They race, and then pile the wife and kids back in the car at the end of the night, drive home and then drive their car or truck to work the rest of the week. There's plenty of people right here on utube that do it and post it. Read my comment above.
I feel, I feel like I can live with out it. Muscle car and EV should never be in the same sentence. It’s like a chick with a dick. It makes no sense and you don’t wanna be caught standing next to one. Hell Ford just lost 5 billion on this same exact bet.
I've heard they are faster then combustible engines, But they will never be as cool 😎
Looks like the new Chevrolet Camero
Does anyone else here feel like they've awakened to life in a sci-fi movie? not even a good one, like a B rated one from the 90's...
well much like the Edsel when the entire mess collapses and REALITY Sets in Dodge will know they've killed the goose-that-laid the golden-egg for them with the Hellcats, this absurdly ridiculous 'muscle EV' there's no such thing anyway, is a joke and a catastrophe in the making, more car fires anyone? tesla will have serious competition in that dept I"m sure
hey, whatever happened to the Dodge Dart?? yea -- EXACTLY!
Are they going to make it RHD?
MAYBE U CAN CHOOSE
Looks like a challenger
A 1200hp hellcat would smoke this at a drag strip
this car will easily be $100K+
Putting artificial noise into an EV is just stupid. I hope the trend to do that ends as quickly as it began. Only the amount of noise to keep the car safe to pedestrians should be necessary.
You get a case of bud light with purchase. 😂
Haha, I wish! Unfortunately, I don't have the power to include beer with every purchase. But I appreciate your enthusiasm!😂
@@plugcharge lol are not from the u.s.a ?. getting called a bud light/budweiser consumer is one of the most insulting things ever. getting a case of bud light with this car is supposed to be an insult to the EV industry 🤣 #boycottbudlight
Most of the dealerships can't even repair my front sensor. Electronics is not dodges strong part..they are terrible with electronics and very high priced with electronics..
We just hate batteries becouse its was never to be trusted in the first place no matter how far you go or how fast
Nice car. To bad the only engine choice's is the fiat inline 6 turbo and a full EV with fake sounds. Ugh.
Ok the inside is cool, I will give it that, but screw this car and any channel that supports batteries over engines…
I Appreciate your comment! While everyone has their own preferences, it's important to acknowledge the environmental benefits of electric vehicles and the advancements being made in electric vehicle technology.
@@plugcharge the 'environmental' benefits?? and whats' that exactly? the leeching of toxic chemicals into the atmosphere from those absurd batteries that never go the distance claimed?? the fact these EV's are ALL Firetraps, there's no way to cool such a heavy battery, the FACT that COLD is the death knell to them?? gouging the Earth with giant holes to get to the scares lithium is 'beneficial to it'??? what???
OIL IS AN ORGANIC MEDIUM, how in the hell was it ever demonized I'll never know, you can't get GREENER THAN THAT, it's provided by the EARTH so it could never HURT IT
there is NO SUBSTITUTE for the internal combustion engine --- NOT A ONE, these are tinker-toys for the rich and clueless nothing more, without the VROOOOOM there is NO MUSCLE CAR, a faux-sound effect is beyond the pale of pathetic, to say this car is a mega-flop already is an understatement indeed
@@plugcharge Environmental benefits? Like lithium mining? Or that most people will be charging these with power made from fossil fuels and river damming? Or the battery end-of-life disposal? Funny how all of this is always overlooked "for the environment."
WAKE UP ⏰ dogde 😂
Okay. My washer is a Kenmore Elite HE3t. Its electric motor is about the size of regulation college football. It spins 70lbs of wet clothes at 1200 rpm's. Electric motors have tremendous amounts of torque, but my washer is plugged into an outlet, so I never need to charge it. What good is an electric vehicle if you need to stop and charge it for a half hour or 45 minutes to get an extra 100 miles of range? We can settle this once and for all to shut up the drag race queens who pound their underdeveloped chest because they can step on a dimmer switch in the form of a gas pedal. We can have a "Good Ole Fashion" Cannon Ball Run. This would see who has the fastest average time over the distance to cover. EV's would lose royally. But like the biden administration, they would have excuses or use misinformation (lies) to say that the EV's were actually faster if you take the charge times out of the equation. Gasoline powered cars make good power and can keep up with these toy rc cars on steroids. But, after a night at the strip, they can pull into a gas station and refill the gas tank in under 5 minutes and head back home. Getting an engine to make lots of power, sometimes in excess of 1000hp and then be able to drive it on the street, is an art form. The perfect grind on cams, intake and exhaust ports honed to be smooth as glass. The right lifters and pistons with connecting rods connected to a crankshaft mated to the right transmission and rear differential. Not stick a big electric motor and hook up this industrial dimmer switch to make it spin faster or slower like a ceiling fan.
Scholng
i hate electric car they should stop making them
Over the many years I’ve seen the Chrysler motor division, has seem to always screw up their vehicles they are successful with. Chrysler has gone bankrupt several time in the last 70 years. Plus borrowing from the federal government just to stay in business. Now we see they’ve gone EV on a successful vehicle that’s made them money and pretty cheap to produce the same car for years. A small few will buy this EV cause nobody can afford or want one. Again Chrysler reads their buyers just like Budweiser and Target has. Hey stupid people at Chrysler, stop and wake the hell up!!
Ditch the stupid ev thing an put in a big v-8
Stand back! We got a bunch of internet bad asses in the comments!
Haha, it can definitely get heated in the comments sometimes! But I appreciate all of the engagement and discussion, even when people disagree. Thanks for watching!😍
Real - Dodge Charger 1968-1970 2door … EV are like RC car for adults 🤦🏻♂️
How will it fair in a quarter mile race with a Tesla Plaid? I say this, because this is one of the major reasons Dodge went down this road-the Tesla Plaid was literally SMOKING everything they sold.
Read my comment above and you'll see the real test. A Cannonball Run will show you how good EV's really aren't.
@@frankmmiii Smooth, a cannon ball run is nothing more than an extended endurance test, please quit trying to move the goal posts. Most car enthusiasts, especially the younger ones are interested in drag racing and not cannonball runs, but nice try.
Ev muscle cars will never take off in sales never have they made a battery that will last that's all i get done now is buy batterys there always shot
All I see is a penny pincher.
This is like comparing a Nitro R/C to an Electric R/C.
Nitro is way more cooler,
1st yoy have to know how to tune a carburetor. You see the exhaust smoke, hear the exhaust sound.
You hear the transmission shift into 2nd & or 3rd gear.
Refill the gas tank every 8-10 min & keep goin...
Electric is quiet & yes faster, but it isn't the same, swapping out battery every 8-10 min also but you need enough batteries to stay out there, cause the recharge doesn't do it fast enough...
Ok first off this isn’t what it will be, this is the limited top of the line, most will have closer to 400 hp only..
Ok, well my middle of the line SXT only has 300 hp. Whats your point?
Fake engine noise for a fake Muscle car... fast, yes... engaging nope. Add the expected dealer markup for first shipments of this failure, your car money is best spent elsewhere...
i love mopar. i love gas and diesel engines. electric motors powering vehicles was the original theres no denying that.. my only question ,is the friggin radio/media touch screen finally lag free???? u show me a U Connect or Ford Sync with 0 lag time like the simple radios of the 90's and ill show u a fat wad of cash to buy that car lol
LOL a pile of junk that nobody will buy, and just killed Dodge off completely...oh and what's this??
the Ford Lightening EV just burned down a garage with four other cars etc....fancy that!
