And even though it's all electric, Dodge still made sure it sounds like a muscle car. Hear for yourself and learn all about the Charger Daytona Concept in this video. It looks like a cross between the classic '68 and the '99 concept. I actually really love the design, great modern flare to an old school muscle car!
I agree with you, they nailed this design.
I really hope they don't get rid of those bucket seats on the production model cause tim said that they were gonna put a regular rear bench seat back there but at least make the bucket seats an option for those of us who want the best of the best lol cause those look sick af.
Sad to see the combustion muscle engines go, but damn, can't wait for these muscle EV's to hit production. Love the fact that you can have an engine exhaust note. If choices of exhaust note are offered, how cool would it be to have one of a big duration, lumpy idle cammed 426 Hemi from back in the day.

@@frankcastle2045 yah I suppose I'm speaking from the perspective of a plaid Tesla which is only like $77k used rn. For that price and the 2 second 0-60 acceleration you get, that's not shitty at all.

Yeah, this is a one-off, hand built, preproduction prototype … not assembled to production level quality so little issues like a tray coming off are normal and the reason why the public is not allowed to sit in this, or any other concept car at the show.

Only 3 EVs I like right now (and cannot afford btw) Porsche Taycan, Audi E-tron GT, and THIS..... Im not gushing w/ excitement over electrification, Alternative fuels are being slept on so hard for whatever reason.... but this and the two i mentioned above have definitely peaked my interest to say the least

I seen many articles and even the one from the Stellantis president himself and Ralph Gilles both stating the 4 door Charger does exist and next Gen Challenger as well. And there was a article that reports from key figures working at FCA stating the Charger EV Concept you see here is not its final form, in fact it will be a 4 door and there are speculation that an I6 variant will come about one day and other cars will be announced later this year.
I would like more if it had 4 doors. Getting in the back looks like it'd be a hassle for some of my family.
Dodge is top dog because they offered two variants of muscle car , dumb of them to discontinue the 4 door charger

They really flew off the handle with this. The front headlight assembly reminds me of a Halo or something. They should not be allowed to call it a Daytona srt though. Just my thoughts.
Dodge wants to win they don’t want families in them. Stellantis made the wrong move. You know how many stupid fucks are going to get these cars and completely trash them to the point it becomes unsafe. I guarantee I see this catching fire or crowds. One of the two….

I'm the same boat. Love my Tesla but beyond excited to get back to dodge. Hatchback, front that reminds me of my favorite car ever (69 charger), an interior thats a cross between spaceship and batman, and just all of it.
It's cool af! I want one! Looks much better than Tesla's goofy "dolphin/jelly bean" design language.
Now I want to see it in General Lee colors.

I think I might consider one now. I love the retro look from 66-67 as long as it's not priced too high. I'm looking at the new Charger or 2022 M8 Competition or the new 2024 AMG GT Coupe

Not a bad design, but I don’t think I’ll ever see it as a real muscle car without the roar of Dodge’s V8 Hemi
If there is one thing about stellantis it is that it will look nothing like this. Take a look at what they did for the Ram 1500 ev. It will most likely look exactly like the current charger.

I'm glad it's a coupe; I've been driving coupes all my life and don't intend to suffer a sedan. If it's in the same price range as a future Mustang or Camaro, I'll buy one. The first Mustang, Camaro or Dodge coupe that's all-electric gets my check.

No, it's not possible for an EV to do this. The Daytona is rumored to have a 3-speed electric gearbox of sorts, but even then, I highly believe it's "automatic" - however it works. What I do know is that a manual gearbox in an electric vehicle probably isn't possible at all.

Yeah, electric cars can only simulate it really. I believe the Porsche Taycan has a 2 shift manual
@@mystic7055 It has instantaneous response time with the transmission, so with the right algorithm, it can basically simulate it perfectly, but that would be very niche, I doubt a manufacturer that mass produces cars would go through the trouble.

Why does everyone keep saying 68 charger? It looks more like a 66-67 charger with the roof line and interior layout. 68 had the 4 round tail lights and similar body lines to the 69 and 70 charger.

Looks great. Can I get one with a 426 Hemi. Wouldn't have it as an electric toy. No substitute for cubic inches.

Don't love it or hate it. If they had hideaway headlights to style it like the old chargers, I'd probably buy it no questions asked.
Sad to see its the end of the last true muscle cars I'm glad I was able to get a scat pack nothing will ever compare to a v8 HEMI MOPAR OR NO CAR
You can expect the final release to be considerably different. I don't see any side markers, markers that are required by Federal Law. Regardless, it looks badass. Looks retro, with a modern touch.

They could have made a hybrid vehicle 40 times over in the last 10 years. I found that the Dodge Magnum and the 2013 Dodge Dart are becoming more common the closer EVs are to becoming a trend amongst Automakers.
