    We've retested the viewing angle and the 30-degree anomaly is no longer present. It was likely affected by an external light source during testing.

      Stay clear of Samsungs, bought mine 3 years ago (50inch 4K) and it started showing these circles all over the screen when you display white backgrounds, very common long term problem as they skimp out on using proper glue to fix their internals:

    Rtings Team, thanks for the review. But there's one missed important thing. Samsung uses different panels type for different sizes. In Europe, 43TU8000 has PLS panel type. So, the tests in your review is true only for VA panels. I think your audience would appreciate if you'll share more details on that during your review.

    Samsung's 2020 lineup really sucks! TV's supposed to be getting better with more features every year, yet they dropped the refresh rate on this TV as well as the Q60T. Unfortunately most non-tech savvy people will get fooled by this. And to top it off the lack of a built-in DTS decoder means my next TV will definitely not be Samsung!
    PS: I wish you guys would highlight what audio formats can be passed through during your reviews. This is really important to us who have home theatre setups

    • @ColorMaster123

      what is dts decoder? And what for is it used? will high end models from Samsung have them from 2020?

    • @desertratmatt
      @desertratmatt 4 года назад +5

      Yeah, while Samsung is actively downgrading, we got TCL, Vizio, and Hisense getting significantly better year over year. TCL is adding Mini-LED to their 6 series, Hisense and TCL are adding quantum dots to the H8G and 5 series, and Vizio is adding tons of gamer friendly features like VRR to even the M7 series. Sony is doing marginal upgrades. Meanwhile Samsung over here, hur dur, our name and marketing are so amazing we can make more money by downgrading because the masses must be stupid.

    • @yashsookoo6589
      @yashsookoo6589 4 года назад +3

      @@ColorMaster123 most ripped movies have either Dolby Digital or DTS audio formats. Latest Samsung TV's cannot play the soundtrack of DTS audio files. You will get picture but no sound. This is extremely frustrating. I believe that Samsung don't want to pay the royalties to have DTS support. It's extremely frustrating and I've experienced it on a 2019 Samsung RU7100

    I see a lot of people here are turned off after watching this review. I picked one up from Target for just $400 (US) and it is a steal. Gaming feels way more responsive than my 2017 Vizio and the contrast isn’t nearly as bad as this video makes it seem. The tv is super responsive when it comes to the user experience (watching RUclips, switching back and forth between apps) and I can’t wait to play the PS5 on it. I also own a 2019 TCL 5 series and I think this Samsung is slightly above it overall. It’s a lot of TV for a great price. Gamers don’t want to have to spend $1000+ for a good gaming experience. If your looking for a budget friendly TV for next gen, strongly consider this TV!!

    I've never had such a hard time calibrating the visual quality of a t.v. before.
    Most colors tend to have a yellowish glow that is hard to diminish. The t.v. can get bright but you lose detail.
    Looks good for movies or show with a natural hue tint but other than that, it's hard to get a natural look.
    It also struggles with white. Whites are dull greish with no natural look.

    Everytime I go to rtings for review, I always find my specific choice of monitor/tv as disappointing according to them. But after actually using them myself I always find them rather not bad as their very technical reviews are saying. Sometimes don’t rely too much on technical reviews. Their reviews are very useful nonetheless.

      @levskitoronto 4 года назад

      Yeah, I purchased the the RU8000 as the first Smart Tv as my old Samsung was working fine. I really enjoyed the RU8000 untill my two year old broke it.
      Went in and bought the Q60 which was supposed to be a step above but was such a big disappointment compared with the RU8000. The quality of the picture when watching basketball was actually closer to my 10 year-old Samsung than to the RU8000. I ended up returning the Q60 and was looking into purchasing the TU8000 but now I am not sure...

      It's a solid tv. The biggest issue is hdr but honestly there's not a lot of tvs near this price range that excels at it without compromising everything else.
      For ex the hisense h9g has really bright hdr and a 120hz native panel but it completely sucks at upscaling. There's also an lg and vizio around the same price with roughly the same problems.
      Also you're thinking of 120hz motion interpolation. It's not the same as a native 120hz panel.
