Wonderful entry level TV. Initially bought a 55" Sony X80J, and found the picture to be dark, grainy and fuzzy. Exchanged it for the Samsung AU8000 in the same size. The Samsung picture is clear and bright, with vibrant colours. The Samsung Plus free live TV channels are great also. Thanks for reviewing this TV. 💙

I just upgraded to this TV from my 1080p Samsung I had since 2008. based on your review. I was not blown away by the picture like I was when I first upgraded to a HD Tv. I mainly watch HD & 4K content using my Apple TV 4K. Why do some movies look great while other not so much on AU8000. I can get a consistent picture that I like like on my old TV. Thinking of returning it and I’ve only had the AU8000 for a day.

@@TechSteve I did more research. My old Samsung 1080p TV was a top of the line TV that was well lit, vibrant colors with very clear picture. It was the edge lighting in the AU8000 that wasn’t mind blowing for me. I researched more Samsung TV’s and decided to get the Samsung 65 inch Q80A TV because of the full array dimming back lighting. The TV looks great connected to my Apple TV 4K. Very happy with the picture. I don’t think you reviewed this TV yet but I’ll be checking for your review if you do one. Hi Steve......Bought a Sony 55 80J, terrible picture, then got the AU80000. Has great color and depth but one thing that happens is the audio and video go out of sync on a regular basis and for no reason. Any idea's or suggestions on how to fix this?

    My little review:
Brightness could be higher. Maxed out it's still a little on the dim side.
Speakers are pretty bad. They are are quite tinny. Very little bass. Also, if you want to use the low latency "gaming mode" for the picture settings, it also locks the audio into gaming mode as well. So with gaming mode enabled (which you will definitely want for games or using a mouse), you can't adjust the audio at all. Good news is you can raise the TV up a little by adjusting the legs, to fit a sound bar underneath. You'll probably want one, or headphones, if audio is important to you.
There is no support for 1440p. You're stuck between 1080p and 4k. Those 2 resolutions work fine, but in between is a mess. If you're using an Xbox Series S (maxes at 1440p), avoid this TV, unless you're ok being stuck in 1080p. Same goes for a PC. If your PC can handle 4k, then no problem. But if not, you're down to 1080p.
The remote is subpar. I mean I guess it's alright if you're really minimalistic, but using it and navigating menus is not very good. Clunky.
    Those are the negatives.
On the positive side, the image quality is quite good. The TV is super thin. I mean it, it's really damn thin. Would look great mounted on a wall. Bezels are really thin as well. The price is decent.
It's my first Samsung TV, I thought I would be blown away given their reputation for screens, but I'm really not. It's good enough, but nothing special. Feels like cost cutting at every corner.

I've had this TV for over a month, and I still can't figure out how to download my day to day apps. For example, I'm searching for the WWE Network, and it can't find it. Google says there's some sort of a smart hub, and I checked 1000 if times for this smart hub and couldn't find it. There isn't any smart hub button on the remote either. Can you please explain to me how do I get my apps?

Sorry but they don't sell this model where I live.
You will have to do your own research on this one or Try Display Specification Website and see if the specs are on there.

I hope someone can help me. I just bought a AU8000 and I can't get the Optical output to see my Topping D50s . I did get the TV audio to output to the DAC via Bluetooth but it takes a minute or two to start it and it starts at 100% volume, it's getting old. PC on TV is not working well for me either.

I have noticed that some content I am watching stutters. Its only on certain channels and certain programs. Seems to be CBS and NBC. Mostly CBS. I recorded a program and it was bad, than I watched it on-demand and the motion was fine. I have the picture clarity settings off. Should I enable them to try and solve this issue? I am wondering if its because its different frames per second too.
