I’m not happy with my new Samsung 4K 8 series TV. THE 4K is phenomenal but that’s not what cable provides. Football games look terrible in action. My older Samsung HD 8series from 2012 has a 100x better picture than this 2020 version except the 4K video. Idk? Why. The hertz? Is different 240 vs 120 is the only thing I believe is different. Unless I’m totally unaware of these 2 being completely different technologies I wouldn’t get this one again.

I put the gamma up to 2.2 and preferred warm1 and I think I have a picture I'm happy with. I think part of the problem was I had my old TV for years set to dynamic and I got so used to it that anything else seemed too dull.
@@romanjosipovic6858 hi, it was my old TV that I had on dynamic, the settings are different on the newer TV that I have now. I have since changed my TV settings to standard as I was never totally happy with the new filmmaker mode. Maybe give the standard mode a chance, I found the dynamic on this TV very harsh. Too bright and too much colour which ends up with you losing a lot of picture detail, for example, a snow covered mountain scene would be overly bright and detail lost. I can give you the settings I'm using on standard if you want to give it a try.
I can confirm, I've just installed the 1302.5 update on my 65" TU7000 and it has 100% fixed all the HDR issues with this TV when watching anything in hdr
Ya my HDR is darker also. I spoke to Samsung support and of course they know nothing about 1302.5. They said there's no difference between 1301 and 1301.5. I was gonna usb it, but my wall mount makes it difficult
For those interested in using this (TU7000) as a monitor for your PC and you dabble in creative software, make sure to turn off most of the eco friendly settings that adjust brightness based on your environment. This will prevent you from getting the optimal brightness in a dark working environment. After calibration with my spider elite X. I was able to acheive 76% of AdobeRGB and 99% sRGB after calibration. This trades blows with my XP-PEN 22E Pro in color accuracy within 1%. Not as good as my Pixio PX275h with its 89% AdobeRGB, but still fairly nice for a TV that wasnt designed for graphic work.

If you've already applied recommendations from this video (using Movie picture mode) and you Brightness is maxed out, then you can also try adjusting Gamma control as well as Shadow control. If you need further brightness increase, use Contrast Enhancer - it is not ideal solution since it will artificially boost contrast, but you can try it as a compromise to see more details in the image. Yes, you can also play games in Movie mode. Input lag is higher, but for many of us it is still acceptable. Many years ago I went to a guy owning Panasonic high end LCD TV that was playing FIFA in Professional mode with input lag of over 200 ms. He was more than happy with the response in that mode :).
Hi & thanks, I sat for more than 2 hours with the tu7100 and tu8000, and my impression was the tu8000 had hyped up reds, I went back and forth again and again and I could see it, not only in the 43 inch models but also on the bigger ones, which is interesting since I am really not sure they use the same panels, Would love to hear your thoughts on these points.
@Saquon Barkley Is The Man 26 is it that bad?? I bought a 75 inch thinking the hdr was good for PS4 pro gaming? I can not exchange it now so I hope its not bad enough to throw the remote to the TV.
Thank you for making this video. Question. If I change my TU7000 to movie mode, do I still have to go into the expert saving and make all the changes I watched you do or does movie mode do that for me?
Hi I’ve just got this tv, what do you think of the shadow detail? I’m not sure if -2 looks better for gaming. Seems avoid that grey look? What do you think

Thinking QN43Q60T What model do you recommend? and are there Samsung models using Displayport connection rather than HDMI. Is HDMI adequate for reasonable resolution accuracy. This is for photo display and editing. Hobby photographer.

hi great darko thank you for you work i have a question for you this tv dont have the two option for the movement sentting is correct?i see one setting is motion blur missing?i want buy this tv but i afraid for this what is your advice ? thank :)
Darko, when you show games (The Last of Us 2 there), there is something on the screen. Looks like diamond-shaped filters on the screen. Zoom in and you will see it. Is there some kind of image artifacts on this tv's screen or is it the RUclips compression? I'm asking because I have a Sony X720E 49' and I sit close enough to see horizontal lines all over the screen. I'm about to give TU 7000 a go, bit I want a clean image. :l
Hey Francisco - the cause of that effect on some of the shots is caused by the camera and its aperture size. I only noticed it after I made the videos, as the monitor on GH5 camera is too small to notice it. In reality the image is clear and no such artifact can be seen. Horizontal lines on your Sony TV - that's very strange - do you have some photo so that I can see it? You can send it at darko@hdtelevizija.com.
@@TVguyDarko Hello, first of all, excuse me for the bad English, sot from South America, I am about to buy a TU7000gxpe and I would like to know if it brings other than the Judger brings the blur? 2.and I want you to explain this to me please too what is this? @@TVguyDarko Hi Darko. Thanks for the answer. Sadly, I just traded my Sony with a cousin. I can't take a picture to send you. My cousin said she could not see anything wrong with the TV, so we traded TVs. The lines were strange ans could be seen on very bright scenes. They were not too thin, but not too thick too, and were specially visible when moving cameras in games, for example. :l
So my tu8000 either goes completely dark on game mode or completely bright out of no where. Eco is off. Its usually fine but after I get out of the menu or the xbox sits for a while it weirds out until I change the source and then come back to it.

For me personally game mode looks best for gaming because it gets rid of the judder, and minimal lag. For netflix in my opinion, having the motion smoothing in effect makes it look wayy smoother. Anyone else feel the same?

Just bought myself the 7000 during Black Friday sales, and currently trying to get the best image I can in PC mode. Thanks!
@@dnbm3 TVs still serve a purpose for PCs hence why there has been a PC mode built into them for years now. In my case I use one as a 3rd monitor mounted on my wall to increase productivity. A TV is preferable in this case since it large, further away, and above my primary monitor. In regards to the initial question, I have had some decent color accuracy on standard mode with the Eco modes turned off. The eco modes adjust the brightness depending on the environment and by default they are too dim for optimal colors in a dark environment (at least according to my SpyderX Elite). Also make sure the color warmth is neutral and not cool or warm. After calibration I achieved 99% sRGB color accuracy and 76% AdobeRGB coverage. I used mostly the default settings in the TV except the brightness which I had to increase. After the software color adjustment layer it tones down the blues slightly and boosts the vibrancy of the reds slightly.
You'll have to go into TV settings and change the source (name/type) from PC to another type of format then all the options will become available to adjust TB settings

Is it possible to change the overscan settings on the TU8000? Using the Lightning Digital AV Adapter from Apple, a black border is seen around the image. I know I can adjust the zoom, but it doesn’t eliminate the border completely. Thanks for the video and thanks in advance!
Can you please do a video on the new Filmmaker Mode that suddenly appeared in my settings. I used this video to configure my picture settings but now I'm not sure if I should just switch since it claims to be the most accurate. It definitely looks different though so I'd really like to hear your thoughts..
Thank you for the review .So helpful . I have a question . Does this TV have PIP feature ? PIP (Picture in picture) is a function that allows you to watch two programmes simultaneously. This means you can watch a TV channel and a picture received from another external video source (e.g. DVD, Set-top box, PC) at the same time. One source will be displayed on the full television screen and the other will be displayed in a small inset window.
Still the majority of people are buying budget models / mid range models not everyone has the money or need to buy top of the line . Glad they have a great channel that fulfill their needs too.

Hi & thanks, I sat for more than 2 hours with the tu7100 and tu8000, and my impression was the tu8000 had hyped up reds,
I went back and forth again and again and I could see it, not only in the 43 inch models but also on the bigger ones, which is interesting since I am really not sure they use the same panels,
Would love to hear your thoughts on these points.
IMHO yes, you are correct
It's hard to get rid of. Decrease the colour value and also play with the white balance.
How do you turn on HDR for just watching regular TV? Also great video this was and very helpful.
@Saquon Barkley Is The Man 26 is it that bad?? I bought a 75 inch thinking the hdr was good for PS4 pro gaming? I can not exchange it now so I hope its not bad enough to throw the remote to the TV.
@@XNonexistenceX it changes a lot in Gaming, i reccomend to turn it on on the ps4 settings

@@XNonexistenceX hey bro do u have dimming issue when playing ps4 hdr games ? Like brightness auto up n down!!

You’re welcome!
Thank you for making this video. Question. If I change my TU7000 to movie mode, do I still have to go into the expert saving and make all the changes I watched you do or does movie mode do that for me?
Hey Mike! Movie and Filmmaker mode will do most of it, but still I would advise that you fine tune brightness, white level and motion.
@@TVguyDarko Thank you for the clarification. I will do both like you showed in your excellent video.
does this work with a Samsung TU700D? great content!
Thanks - yes, it works as these are the same models.
Hi I’ve just got this tv, what do you think of the shadow detail? I’m not sure if -2 looks better for gaming. Seems avoid that grey look? What do you think
Hi thank you for your video I found it very helpful
I have one question tho. I have the 65 tu8507
But I fine going from left to right it has bad blur. Who a better hdmi fix this?
And going up and down it some times have like a wave (like bad refresh rate) going thru it.
Hi Marty - thanks for the comment! Could you let me know if this bad blur is visible on all content or only on some?
Did you solve this problem? I'm asking because I have the same TV and have noticed the same problem.
Thanks! Saved a lot of time!
Have used your Samsung adjustments for many TV's with excellent results, Thankyou. I have a dilemma to solve, have a new laptop ( Dell XPS 15 ) plan to buy Samsung 43" tv as monitor. Thinking QN43Q60T What model do you recommend? and are there Samsung models using Displayport connection rather than HDMI. Is HDMI adequate for reasonable resolution accuracy. This is for photo display and editing. Hobby photographer.
Best settings for gaming?
Got a new 8k tv and sadly movie mode looks terrible even with adjustment.
I find natural best my room is quite dark the colours are perfect not too dark not too light over saturated

I have a smart TV Samsung TU8000, in the settings doesn't make me Adjust some Settings( such as gamma And other things) what do you advise me to do?
Hey, that depends on the type of the input signal. If it is not available that means that it is not applicable for that type of the signal.
Thank you very much
Prefer Dynamic on my Samsung 86 inch. Otherwise makes the pic look like a projector screen. Use Dynamic all the time.
If you like it…
I have a Samsung tv tu7000 model 2021. What settings should I use to watch Blu ray or 4k movies only?? Help!
Is there anyway you could give me the correct settings for the samsung NU6900 series please 🙏

Hello, first of all, excuse me for the bad English, sot from South America, I am about to buy a TU7000gxpe and I would like to know if it brings other than the Judger
brings the blur?
2.and I want you to explain this to me please too
what is this?
MR120 (MR100 for UY, PY)
this appears on the samsumg page in the specifications in the movement index part
Well thanks for reading xdd
@@TVguyDarko Hi Darko. Thanks for the answer. Sadly, I just traded my Sony with a cousin. I can't take a picture to send you. My cousin said she could not see anything wrong with the TV, so we traded TVs. The lines were strange ans could be seen on very bright scenes. They were not too thin, but not too thick too, and were specially visible when moving cameras in games, for example. :l
i heard game mode affects the graphics of the game apparently game mode its only for better performance not for resolution
So my tu8000 either goes completely dark on game mode or completely bright out of no where. Eco is off. Its usually fine but after I get out of the menu or the xbox sits for a while it weirds out until I change the source and then come back to it.
Is adaptive lighting turned off?
I bought a 75 inch Samsung Tu7000 for my PS4 pro.. Does this TV actually use HDR?? I know it is using UHD but I bought it for HDR for gaming. Then I heard 50 in is different then the 75 inch and I hope I didn't buy the wrong TV.. Thank you for sharing
Hey, do you also have HDR problems in PS4? I have 55TU8000 and PS4 not the pro though but I have HDR problems as well!
For me personally game mode looks best for gaming because it gets rid of the judder, and minimal lag. For netflix in my opinion, having the motion smoothing in effect makes it look wayy smoother. Anyone else feel the same?
Can you please do the best settings for ps4 ? It really dark in hdr

Hi, isn't warm 2 too yellow?
To Activate FILMMAKER MODE you have to be playing HDR contend and it wold appear in the Picture Mode menu. I have a TU8000
True, but not on early software that I had while testing. Later it became available.
So if i use gamma2.2 the 'brightnessproblem' is solved?

Darko, what settings would you recommend for PC Mode, when the TU7000/8000 is being used as a monitor with a computer? There is only Standard and Dynamic mode available, and the settings are limited. Just bought myself the 7000 during Black Friday sales, and currently trying to get the best image I can in PC mode. Thanks!
You can't. Is a tv not a monitor
Very Helpfull thank you very much

Thank you for the review .So helpful . I have a question . Does this TV have PIP feature ?
PIP (Picture in picture) is a function that allows you to watch two programmes simultaneously. This means you can watch a TV channel and a picture received from another external video source (e.g. DVD, Set-top box, PC) at the same time. One source will be displayed on the full television screen and the other will be displayed in a small inset window.
No
I think so
Film maker mode will be available when you connect through HDMI port.
You are right, but this was added after I finished the test.
