I've never heard the first movement of the Schumann concerto played this way, almost like a free Fantasia - very similar to Schumann's original intentions.
Cuando tocan este concierto, suelo valorar a los pianistas sobre todo en la cadencia. Algunos (y algunAs) de los más prestigiosos, al llegar a un determinado pasaje de la cadencia, se ponen a correr desenfrenadamente, con el resultado de que apenas se pueden distinguir las notas. Pero, eso sí, ellos dejan bien claro que pueden tocar más rápidamente que nadie. No es el caso de esta gran pianista japonesa, que hace en todo momento una interpretación impecable de esta obra maestra. 👋👋👋
Sorry to say this- once again. Woodwinds NOT in tune with the piano. Solo clarinet starts of nicely but then comes the slow section where it all falls apart in 9 out of 10 performances- and this one no exeption. To to high- and why don’t they let the sound bloom instead over control it every time? The clarinet sound gets to tiny like a little ant trying to sing..and it gets ….to high…. Flutes the same- they just can’t play in tune with a piano. To bad Muti that you didn’t tell them to fix this
