You are living my dream life, I hope to be a pilot some day! I am building a Boeing 777 cockpit in my house right now. May I ask what flight school you went too?
@@imMalpa12455 I went to Southern Illinois University Carbondale for my degree in aviation management. But my flight schools were different than some. I worked two jobs as a waiter and saved up money to pay in full for each license. I hired flight schools around the country that specialize in each license to train me. I went to that school with the written test already passed and everything necessary for the knowledge portion that made learning to train in the aircraft for that particular license much easier. It was a LOT of self study and it made me a much better pilot. It also made me a debt free airline pilot which is very hard to come by. Thanks for the question, it sounds like you have the passion! You can absolutely do it! I am ironically speaking at a high school next week to encourage these juniors and seniors to get into this amazing field.
2 things 1. Spirits ceo actually said they want to be the mcds of the sky 2. Thats not duct tape. Its speed tape. All airlines use it. Its FAA certified and completely legal to use in any form
Spirit is only cheap if you can fly with basically no luggage other than a small backpack or personal item. If you need even a full sized carry on, you will pay thru the nose, and the price difference between Spirit and a real airline evaporates quickly. I considered Spirit for a flight coming up, but when I realized I would have to pay more than my seat cost to bring on a carry on, I passed.
I think it's realtive on where your destination is. I'm using Spirit on my next flight coming up soon, the cost difference even with bags and seats is way less than paying full price for the next step up, which was $200 more per person with barely additional perks (Jet Blue).
For a flight that short, I will always take the flight for $30. Money saved could get me a good meal at my destination. I haven't flown on Spirit, but I fly Frontier whenever I can to be back to NY. And it is from my understanding about the same as Spirit. I fly Delta most often on longer flights out of all the US airlines. Sadly the made major changes to their frequent flyer program.
I love Delta! I flew them from Tokyo to Phoenix. The crew was phenomenal. The seat was comfy. If I could fly them from now on I would, but as a teacher I have to look for the cheapest flight.
I say this depends on what you expect. When Spirit costs $30 and Delta costs 5 times more for the same distance, I will definitely choose Spirit just be cause it has the higher cost-performance value. These airlines have different target customer segmentations, and you prefer Delta because you belongs to their target segmentation.
When and where is it $30 ? 😂. I been binging these vids today after a connecting spirit flight to and from, and spent 270 on the front end with a checked back and 90 for a bag on the way back, got a backache and ended up spending just as much as I would’ve with the better one, but 30 sounds like a deall deall
Sun country is the best option if you wanna go to Minneapolis from somewhere in the us. Checked bags are only like 50$ per bag and you get a free drink. And they actually give pretty decent legroom.
spirit and frontier are the kind of airlines where they are at best fine when everything is going right. but when things go wrong, they go really really wrong.
It’s because Frontier and Spirit lack the infrastructure like an airline like Delta has, an airline that is a global Goliath. It’s the service infrastructure that is “service” in that industry. Not the free soda. If your flight on Delta cancels , they can reroute you through more airports, have more destination option, etc. basically they have way to better logistically handle complications. Frontier and Spirit are tiny in comparison and when your flight cancels there, you’re not out for another week as the next flight could be for 3 days, there might not be available seats. Also, due to cost structures Spirit won’t invest in the operation the same way as Delta such as employment and pay structures. So you’ll get a “less professional” gate agent for example.
to be fair, that's a pretty large price difference. If you are only taking a short flight, i'm sure most people can manage without wifi for a bit, can still use your phone offline to listen to podcasts or music. And take your own snacks on board rather than bother with the in flight offers. The only obvious annoyance would be the delay, but often these are outside the airline's control,

One nice thing about some of the newer Delta Sky Clubs is they'll have special things. For instance, La Guardia, Terminal C has a second buffet offering different options from locally curated chefs. Or one of the several clubs in Atlanta has ice cream machines. Delta Sky Clubs are definitely a godsend and almost turn flying into a spa day. And most importantly, every Delta Sky Club I've been too had a spotless bathroom.
Thank you for actually showing the food and talking about it instead of glancing at it for 2 seconds like most people do when they record the lounge. I can't afford it yet so I need to see it I can imagine what I would put on my plate.
A few years ago , I flew Spirit from Baltimore to Boston. My flight started out the same way as yours. It was late and then we sat on the taxiway for about 45 minutes for a unknown reason. Although, We did receive a small bag of chips and a bottle of water for free . The flight attendant seemed to be annoyed at being at work. He had a massive attitude problem. But it was cheap ( I think it was about $100 one way ) . If I have to do the same thing again, I’ll pay extra and go with a better airline.
You should do a review on First Class on Delta Connection (Republic Airways, Endeavor Air, Skywest Air). I'd love to see your input on it. Great video by the way!
I will always fly delta airlines now; I’m terrified of heights and an uneasy flyer but the take off and landing was so smooth and bump free flight an amazing pilot and crazy sweet/ nice flight attendants also zero delays with a super easy layover process 😊
I always fly Delta it is amazing if u go on a flight over 12 hours you get a restraint in the airplane if u r first class. Always fly Delta! It has Biscof. Love Delta ❤
I don't fly airlines that spend tens of millions of dollars to demonize unions and retaliate against pro-labor employees up to and including termination.
Just flew BA for the first time in business class, and honestly it was terrible. This is a specific comment about the business class product, which was very poor value for what was charged for the ticket. The seat layout was uncomfortable and impractical (my 75 year-old mother literally had to jump over someone to get to the bathroom AND had a stranger basically in her lap for the whole flight. She was in a seat made for couples.....but with a stranger!!!). Multiple peoples' phones got lost/destroyed in the seats b/c there is no place to put your stuff. None. Not even a tiny shelf for your phone. Can't speak to economy class, but for business class, even American is a better value than BA. No joke.
Hey, Highschool student here. Being a pilot for delta is my dream job. I've flown delta my whole life. I have never ever had one problem with delta itself. Some scuffles with airport problems but other than that nothing much. Never had any major delays. Delta has got to be the best airline company to exist. Beyond excited to start the Propel career, that if I hopefully get in.
Thank you, Eric Struk for keeping us entertained! Maybe one day you could try out Allegiant Air, a pretty bad airline according to other RUclipsrs and the internet! SO maybe you could put Allegiant head-to-head with United after reviewing them on their own, because I saw a few people wanting you to try United, so once you've flown them both, I would love to see United and Allegiant compared! You don't have to do this if you don't want to, just a video suggestion! :) Kind Regards, DanielDoesRUclips, Subscriber and Fan
One concept you should consider for vids like this is if you should use a similar aircraft for a more fair review. But other than that. I liked the video.
RE: Delta Lounge being dated as you put it !, i don't give a toss if their lounge is dated., as long as the food & drink is good and the lounge is clean & tidy!
As a fellow Canadian, I remember the first few times I flew with WestJet (think 2007-2009) they did have live TV on these very tiny (basically iPhone Max size) screens on every seat.
I think at the end of the day, it depends on where in the USA you’re located. For me Southwest is the best balance between the free bags and the cost and frequency
My dad used to work for Delta, flying the CRJ-700/900, but he had to commute all the way to NYC. That is far from where my family lives, so my dad decided to work for Spirit and fly the Airbus A320 which is a much closer commute. He is almost done his training. Also, please stop complaining about the lounge. Most people can't even afford to fly any airline. Delta also does not have free Wi-Fi. You got it because you have that premium Sky Miles membership. Enjoy that you even have the opportunity to fly on an airplane. Especially a nice plane like the Boeing 757.😕🗿✈
Thanks for posting this. I’m flying for the first time with my toddler on Delta next month and with everything going on with Boeings I’ve been so incredibly nervous. It was nice you had a good delta flight
Delta does not own a single aircraft of the "boeing max series" that there were problems with. I love delta's safety record and commitment to safety. Makes me feel so much better when flying.
The Tampa lounge is old. But I'll tell you this, the lounges at JFK, Fort Lauderdale, LaGuardia, and Los Angeles, all lounges I visit fairly often, are all brand new and VERY modern.
Idk why, but I had an awesome experience with Spirit. My flight didn’t get delayed. Also the flight attendants were so nice! Also, when they make u pay for the water and snacks, it kinda makes up for the cheap tickets, part of their revenue! If u don’t wanna pay for water I suggest just bring a water bottle and filling it up after security. I just don’t get why everyone is hating on it. The only things I hated were the tray table and the seats.
I had a nice experience with Delta as well recently. Worth noting though, I had a great experience on a newer Airbus plane, however on an older Boeing one, the power plug was not working, and my IFE screen seemed to get stuck on a blank screen with no visible back button. I also wanted to mention, I was impressed with their Movie, TV, and music selection, but in the end I enjoy just watching downloaded RUclips videos like yours :))
Delta was my main airline until the major changes this year. I had Diamond status for the last 6 years but I’m looking to switch to American or United. I’m just testing out the lounges and flights over the next few months.
@@djtexas4993 sad to say it but I ended up picking American. That might change in 2025 but right now they have more direct flights for work and the lounges are just a tiny bit better. They’re going to be secondary to centurion and C1 lounges, but I enjoy them more so far. The only stand out lounge for United I’ve been to so far is the new one in Newark. I also, like then I can pretty much buy AA status. I’m platinum right now and by March I should hit platinum pro which isn’t bad considering I made the switch little less than 3 month ago.
I flew Spirit once and instead of the 5-hour delay I had and ENTIRE DAY of waiting for my flight. So me and my family just flew Breeze Airlines which was pretty good. I need to fly Delta!
My family was once involuntarily bumped from a Delta flight, and I must say that even in a bad situation their staff was very professional and helpful. They wrote us a check for the compensation that you are entitled too without us even asking (I've heard other airline will try to trick you into getting flight vouchers or other vouchers), then handled booking us on a flight later that day. I would choose Delta over other Airlines whenever possible. They are an excellent airline.
One time I went on spirit and a month later when we were done with vacation a news article said a spirit plane had crashed and it was the same exact number on the plane we went on😨
Hawaiian airlines is the best airline I’ve heard because it’s never crashed since 1921 with great reliability and service and comfort with great food and it’s only getting better
I flew an airplane for the very first time last week from Denver to Miami on Spirit. Check in was quick. No problem with my backpack personal item. We were 30 minutes late departing but I don't believe that was Spirit's fault. For some reason they were only using one lane to depart and we were 20th in line. Captain said it was only about 90 seconds in between planes taking. Overall it was good. My ass just hurt really bad.
In my opinion I don’t think delta are actually that good for long haul as I’ve only been on them for long haul and all 20 flights were delayed for at least 4 hours. But the comfort are pretty good
the delta check in process is usually a lot more up to date. Since most people usually check in with there phones now there app is more updated and you can check in right on the app and the boarding pass will go straight on your phone.
I am a repeat Delta customer. I use Delta for most of my air travel needs. Last May, I flew Delta from Ft. Lauderdaale to Dallas Love Field, by way of Atlanta. My originating flight out of Ft. Lauderdale was delayed by 40 minutes. Normally, I can deal with a delay of 10 to 20 minutes. Occasionally, I can deal with 40 minutes, unless I have a connecting flight to meet. As was the case, the delay caused me to miss my connecting flight. Customer service put me on a connecting flight, about six hours later. Fortunately, I had a card that gave me access to the Delta Sky Lounge where I enjoyed bar b que Coka Cola chicken and watched baseball on television. I arrived at Dallas Love Field without any further issues around midnight, central time.
Most people don’t understand spirit is for business trips. If you need to go somewhere for a day trip you take spirit. Delta is more trans continental. Also you flew 2 different planes the 757 will have more bin space considering it’s a single aisle long range jet compared to i think that’s an A320 Neo which is mainly used for short trips. Also WIFI spirit doesn’t want to pay for wifi as its more weight on the plane.
So you’d rather pay 5 times the price so you can have a tiny bag of pretzels and a tiny bottle of water jaja smart financial decision there. You only got lounge access because of your credit card regular people flying delta economy won’t have that perk. The seat reclines on delta, ok I’m sure people would easily spend two hour or so on a seat that doesn’t recline if they’re saving 5 times de money. Inflight entertainment, delta had a fancy seat back tv and headphones, again I’m sure most people would rather download a movie on their phone or tablet than pay 5 times the price. Delays and cancellation affect all airlines regardless because you just can control the weather. Delta a full carrier airline vs Spirit an ULCC is not a fair comparison because the price range doesn’t even come close to being similar. People that chose Spirit should realize that they’re not getting legacy carries amenities and services but they’re certainly not paying anything close to that.

I never expected the spirit flight to be this good
they usually aren't
Seriously lol I’m tryna figure out how the food shot was so good 😂 like is this a gimble
With the $120 saved from Spirit, you can buy more movies and food than with Delta. And Spirit has cleaner restroom and more leg room.
Tampa is my home airport. I live about 30 mins away. I love when visitors admire the terminal❤✈
That is cool. How is it?
@@KingK2205 It's pretty nice, I don't go often but when I do it is an experience and you will want to go back again!
@@lilkel75 I have never been to Tampa, but I want to visit it one day.
@@KingK2205 You definitely should!
Fly Spirit if u want to get to point A to point B for cheap
Fly Delta if u wanna spice up your trip to point A point B.
I will always fly delta airlines now; I’m terrified of heights and an uneasy flyer but the take off and landing was so smooth and bump free flight an amazing pilot and crazy sweet/ nice flight attendants also zero delays with a super easy layover process 😊
i like how the wing on spirit airlines' planes say 'Howdy'
I always fly Delta it is amazing if u go on a flight over 12 hours you get a restraint in the airplane if u r first class. Always fly Delta! It has Biscof. Love Delta ❤
Puke.
Walmart also has biscof. Not sure what your point is lol
I don't fly airlines that spend tens of millions of dollars to demonize unions and retaliate against pro-labor employees up to and including termination.
I always fly delta and I’ve never had issues with them
Can you try British airways next? Please It’s the best I love how good it is
Just flew BA for the first time in business class, and honestly it was terrible. No joke.
Delta finally updated the ancient "My Trips" screen
I'm freaking dead! "The McDonald's of Airlines" had me dying 😂😂😂😂😂
McDonald's of Arline's🤨
This man needs his own airline

What should it be called AirStruk?
@@Kolachka idk
Im 35 and i just watched this video today and i am a pilot and i flown American Airlines and there was light turbelence
Awesome video, Eric! I enjoy seeing these reviews.
Good luck man❤
@@deobibibi Thanks bro
Thank you, Eric Struk for keeping us entertained! Maybe one day you could try out Allegiant Air, a pretty bad airline according to other RUclipsrs and the internet! SO maybe you could put Allegiant head-to-head with United after reviewing them on their own, because I saw a few people wanting you to try United, so once you've flown them both, I would love to see United and Allegiant compared!
You don't have to do this if you don't want to, just a video suggestion! :)
Kind Regards, DanielDoesRUclips, Subscriber and Fan
Yo u support riggy
Deltas 757s are my favorite planes. They’re so powerful. 🎉 love the video
These videos are sooo good! Keep up the GREAT work!
As a fellow Canadian, I remember the first few times I flew with WestJet (think 2007-2009) they did have live TV on these very tiny (basically iPhone Max size) screens on every seat.
I believe WestJet had live TV on their 737-600s until 2020 when they retired them
I enjoy watching these types of videos, keep it up!
I think at the end of the day, it depends on where in the USA you’re located. For me Southwest is the best balance between the free bags and the cost and frequency
Great video Erick! Try doing other videos like tasting the sweetest food, the sourest food, and the best dessert.
*who’s erick?* 🤨
Yooo Ahmed
Add to note: spirit experience is like McDonald’s and delta’s experience is like chick-fil-a
My dad used to work for Delta, flying the CRJ-700/900, but he had to commute all the way to NYC.
@@stargate55746 thank you for sharing that with me. Definitely makes me feel better
Can't wait to watch it!
The Tampa lounge is old. But I'll tell you this, the lounges at JFK, Fort Lauderdale, LaGuardia, and Los Angeles, all lounges I visit fairly often, are all brand new and VERY modern.
Eric keep it up!
Ryanair vs Lufthansa next? ❤
Except the seats offering recline and FAs handing out water and chocolate, there isn’t much difference. Well, if you don’t factor in price…
Lufthansansa has gone downhill. Customer service is pretty much non existent. I do everything to avoid Lufthansa.
I've never flown on Spirit, but am told the seats on Spirit are almost like sitting on a city bus.
Watching Eric always makes my day. :)
I appreciate your support
You should read my comment
I love this video, but also, can you do next Delta versus pan am
Bro there retired
Idk why, but I had an awesome experience with Spirit. My flight didn’t get delayed. Also the flight attendants were so nice! Also, when they make u pay for the water and snacks, it kinda makes up for the cheap tickets, part of their revenue! If u don’t wanna pay for water I suggest just bring a water bottle and filling it up after security. I just don’t get why everyone is hating on it. The only things I hated were the tray table and the seats.
So true
I love this channel so much and I love aviation. Thanks so much man for making all of our lives so much happier!
Eric I was your pilot on the delta plane I didn’t actually say we were running 3 mins late ⏰ your flight was 1:37. Mins
🧢
Tampa INTL is one of my favorite airports! Awesome place!
It was likely just a bit older, most Boeing's are pretty great in my opinion and I recommend them over Airbus.
Worst airline in the industry is delta. TERRIBLE!!!
During my Lufthansa flight someone’s screen wasn’t working and they told the flight attendant in my area about that and they fixed the problem
@@CamilaAntelo2004 Yeah they say in the safety video that you can ask them to fix it if so, I just didn't bother since I wanted to use my phone anyway
Eric Struk never lets us down
Team Delta 👇🏽
Yessir!!!
Noooooooooo😢

United
Spirit was actually very good for me I got free food and water the flight attendant was very nice I would give it a 10/10
Delta was my main airline until the major changes this year. I had Diamond status for the last 6 years but I’m looking to switch to American or United. I’m just testing out the lounges and flights over the next few months.
Go United!
Would be great to switch to United for the airline. But then also have the Amex platinum for centurion access.
@@ntmn8444 nah, Southwest is the way to go. But Jetblue is great as well
@@djtexas4993 sad to say it but I ended up picking American.
If you switch, go with United. American is trash!
I flew Spirit once and instead of the 5-hour delay I had and ENTIRE DAY of waiting for my flight. So me and my family just flew Breeze Airlines which was pretty good. I need to fly Delta!
I was going to fly wiz-air, austria to england And I had to layover for 14 hours. I didn’t even get a refund! Bro i wish Europe had delta!
nice video
My family was once involuntarily bumped from a Delta flight, and I must say that even in a bad situation their staff was very professional and helpful. They wrote us a check for the compensation that you are entitled too without us even asking (I've heard other airline will try to trick you into getting flight vouchers or other vouchers), then handled booking us on a flight later that day. I would choose Delta over other Airlines whenever possible. They are an excellent airline.
such an informative video! thanks eric.
I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
@@ericstrukI'm glad that you flew to "Atltana"
@@ericstrukSame I love yout videos I want to review airlines in the future
One time I went on spirit and a month later when we were done with vacation a news article said a spirit plane had crashed and it was the same exact number on the plane we went on😨
Just a reminder. The 757 is retiring in 2026
Hawaiian airlines is the best airline I’ve heard because it’s never crashed since 1921 with great reliability and service and comfort with great food and it’s only getting better
6:15 i flew delta back from a school field trip and i calculated we were traveling 1 mile in around 4 seconds
Typo? 1 mile in 4 seconds is pretty dang fast.
You should do a review on qantas! They are a great airline, great services too
I flew an airplane for the very first time last week from Denver to Miami on Spirit.
One time when I was on a vacation to Cancun, I saw an spirit airlines in Mexico City. (MEX/MMMX)
Fun fact : if u board spirit airlines u become one of them 😂😂😂😂
Lol
Umm 😅I I go to spirit but It was actually pretty good
So I turn into a 🍌
LMAO😂😂😂
I did Fly Delta First Class this year And imma Give it a 8,5/10 i swear its good confy + kind staff good food
In my opinion I don’t think delta are actually that good for long haul as I’ve only been on them for long haul and all 20 flights were delayed for at least 4 hours. But the comfort are pretty good
Flown delta 10 times, only delayed once for an hour
It’s good to hear such praise for Delta because that’s how I’m getting to Tokyo for my study abroad starting next month.
Me watching this as I’m taking a spirt flight Tomorrow
Literally flying these 2 exact for my trip soon can’t wait to see 😭
the delta check in process is usually a lot more up to date. Since most people usually check in with there phones now there app is more updated and you can check in right on the app and the boarding pass will go straight on your phone.
Spirit again! Never disappoints
Also WIFI spirit doesn’t want to pay for wifi as its more weight on the plane.
at 10:34 what they are using is called speed tape, it is used to make a temporary fix and is approved by the FAA
I will be flying with Delta for the first time ever in a few weeks. This video comes in handy, thank you.❤🙏
