I was gifted a Jato 3.3 a year ago ran it a few times. Christmas week I decided to bring it out because my neighbor got one this Christmas. Never knew how much fun the Jato brings to a boring day. Great video bro! Happy New Years!
Got it and it’s running sweet! Got some back up parts. Ceramic bearings from rbmods, this pipe second hand, losi 3.4 carb, new piston/sleeve, con rod and a few others. Got another I’m wanting to rebuild for fun on the side as I like tinkering on engines at night after work. Question.. I know the dynamite.19 will drop right in to anything traxxas. Will the .21 dynamite drop right in as well??
I am glad to hear you got a BuKu Clutch, I just ordered one for my Revo 3.3, all contact info is dead, so I hope it comes in the mail. My next car will be the jato, I have 2 Revo 3.3 and love them. Great job and awesome build.
I had the same issue with that seller. I ordered replacement clutch shoes and the order just sat. I emailed and nothing. I had to do a paypal intervention and then he sent them. I dont understand, ive emailed this guy with plenty of back and forth emails about 8 years or more ago so im really curious whats up with him. Im also using his buku pipe but i control via servo for good low end and good mid and top. Im just a single speed transmission
Great video man, sounds awesome! I really like your shop setup, looks like an RC paradise! If I wasn't quadriplegic I'd love to have a setup like that for my 9 cars/trucks and my 2 boats. Thanks for sharing, you earned my sub. Have a great day!
Whats your rc10gt have dome to it? I have a .21 modified ports and buku pipe actuated by a servo to control tuned pipe max power. Just like the "slippy pipes" used in go karts.
Hey man love the video, I have alot of rc's but just bought my first jato. It ran nice when I bought it 2 days later it runs sometimes then when I get down on it, it bogs an dies. Hobbytown says they think the motor is bad, please help!!!!
Woogie I'm a new subscriber love the content of this channel. Had a question on a traxxas 3.3 15 tooth clutch bell verse a 16 tooth clutch bell? If i change to the 16 tooth what are the benefits from the slightly larger 16 tooth clutch bell. Have a great day and thanks for the help.
Are they that good? I saw some mixed things in there work/crank. I know its hard to go off the stuff you see on the internet but i wanted to get a crank for my revo 3.3. Idk if rick at. Rb mods still does them or not @woogienitro
Really nice builds woogie,I wish my 3.3 ran that good. Can you help me get mine running right? I’ve gone through 3 engines already. The rear bearings get loose by the end of break in even when I heat it up to 220 before starting it. I also tried putting new bearings in twice and after 4 or 5 tanks there’s play in the crank. I’m so confused
Are you keeping an eye on engine temperature when breaking in? A teeny tiny bit of play is normal. I usually don't need to replace my stock bearings until at least 2-3 gallons after running very hard constantly
@@woogienitro also you should throw in a high speed cooling fan on the handle of the car with zip ties facing the cooling head, and place a small aluminum fuel cooler behind that fan coming from the exhaust pipe with some longer tubing and shorten the fuel line a good bit. My result is much lower temperatures with a leaner performance tune, very consistent performance from full to empty tank, and fuel that keeps a steady temperature and never boils. You should have no problem with battery life if you have a lipo hump pack. I use the traxxas app to keep an eye on temperature with a live feed. To make sure in never goes much past 270. My rig has an O.S 11K carb, lightweight chassis, high capacity air filter, and the fan has a sensor that goes inside the glow plug area and only activates the fan once the engine reaches about 180-200F super fancy shmancy 😉 and if you want more low end power I suggest to tune the transmission to shift later. You'll know this type of transmission tune once you only hold it half throrttle in the mid range it should a long while to shift to second and hold first gear for a good time. But becareful to not have it shift way too late, because you will blow your second gear fast
@@woogienitro You’re welcome my Jayda blew up LOL accidentally hit salt water and after that That was it got to say were to try to buy a new engine LOL
I modified the STS wheelie bar that's meant for the drag/I used some parts from a fifth scale sway bar to adapt it. I think if you go back and one of those jato videos I show it
Nice jato sounds good I use the duratrax box for mine just had to turn the wheel vertically not to hard! Can play with slipper clutch to get less wheel spin since got so much power! Enjoy merry Christmas 🙏🙏🙏
Hey Woogie, have you ever converted the front jato tires to hex? and if so how did you do it? Also jato parts and upgrades are hard to find, do you have a shop you prefer for parts /upgrades?
I did not do a hex conversion on the front. The jado comes with a bearing instead of a hex. You just have to find those wheels specifically for the jato
The front one is not a hex. It's a bearing as you may know if you have a jado If you can find it. The front is jayco foam tire j a c2020 LP and then I'll have to find the rear. The rear is a hex
What was wrong with the low? Because when you finally tune the hs the bottom will clean up but the low sounds great idk.but on those engines when you lower the idle it leans out the bottom
It's all good man I think my main purpose of building the drag jato was not the technical issues with it but to let people know that Traxxas is not a bad product and it is what you make it not necessarily a tuning video
@@woogienitro yeah but tuning plays a big role you can have an expensive RC and if you're tuning is off it'll be the slowest a stock jato will beat you. But that engine sounds so healthy it was basically tuned except for the high speed and the idol and that thing started ripping
If it's the one on the jado I custom made it to fit. It's an STRC drag/wheelie bar, but I'm using some sway bar pieces from a Baja 5B and some bearings
You don't have to buy up any particular part but it's a certain type of front wheel. I'll try and get you the jayco part number for it but they're very hard to find it. Can't have a hex hub. It has to have the round bearing on each side
