Yeah bro, you are FIRST. The nitro king.. I saw your posts on the New Savage X. Awesome Brother 👌. New and improved. That 4.6 is the motor to beat. It's always has been a Beast. It's on my ""Buy Next List"
Just now watched this video. I have a 2.5r Revo that I put a 3.3 in rite after traxxas brought them out, anyway the 3.3 sat for about 5 years and after a little wd40 to get the carb slide to move it fired rite up just like yours did. Still running strong never replaced the carb just new glow plug and air filter awesome Motors.
I’ve always wanted a jato the on road nitros are definitely awesome my dad and I years ago had a RC 10 GT that we threw street tires and it was a ripper now it’s chilling in the garage the pull start is broken so we could order up a new one and get her going
New 2023 Jato day 2 steering servo is locking up full right when engine is on. Vintage Revo 2.5 same thing so I went to a single DS servo. I did the Hybrid brake mod it made a huge difference. Yep Traxxas nitros are night and day from the 70s-80s nitro cars. The ez start and reliability is great. Where I live the temps and humidity change by the hour. If you dont understand carbs and needles you are screwed. Nitro is not for the everyday noob unless your weather absolutely never changes.
In the future might look into some green slime. I have some that team associated makes and its really good with recoating orings especially around the carb if there is a leak, also works well if you just replace an oring and use it to coat it too.
I think them tires are small and for the bandit,,? I have the bandit that I just leave have a brush motor for around my area,, brushless means buy parts more often but is nice
I take directions just fine. So yes I do actually think it'll start after a bit of prime and then prob a few needle adjustments and you'll be off and running.
I agree with you , Nitro is easier and cheaper. But I live where you have to travel to drive them because of the noise 🙄 But I do believe if laws would change Nitro would take over . Can't wait to see them run ! I was surprised how good the jato started up and ran , Nitro is definitely something to consider over electric
If you flip the arm 180 degrees so it's facing the engine and flip the swivel upside-down,the brakes work a lot better. The arm won't hit the transmission case and give it move movement for better stopping power. 👍
You make a solid argument for Nitro, it’s more convenient for a quick rip. I like electric for the consistent performance, cleaner, and less noise. There room in the the hobby for both. The Nitro fuel must have a long shelf life, unlike todays gasoline. Good video.👍💯
I like both electric and nitro but I got to say I like nitro a little better for the noise and the sound of them. I'm a car person so nitro rcs have always been a thought to get. Have a few things for my car to get before I get another rc though👍
just rebuild the carb why replace what's not broke. on the brake mods your new t maxxes will need the mod I use fuel line in-between the pads so they don't stick to the disc
I just bought one of these for 50$ and it's been broke in tank done. and drained and never ran again,,looks good but I heard mine sat for 10 years ..i hope to get it going
Earl great vid that started right up no problems at all as far as the breaks as long as they are working i wouldnt play with them but if they didn't work or start failing then do the hybrid mode to brakes nice vid he did of showing how to fix the jato i watch him to good channel great content have agreat day earl 👌👌👍👍
My tmaxx has been doing that same thing with the idle My carb has seen better days, the 3.3 in it is about 2 years old. I replaced all fuel lines and still the same issue, I think It’s time to just refresh the carb by buying a new one. What do you guys think?
If you love rc either way, then you have the best of both worlds. I enjoy both elec/nitro But if you’re not mechanical inclined and not willing to get your hands dirty or brain storm a little even if you seek help then yes both can be discouraging. Once you learn how then work and you don’t mind working on them then you’re in the right place just always be mindful of the hazards that come with. An accident can ruin any fun. Enjoy the hobby or anything you into. 👍
great video Earl actually I wish I had a Nitro to try it out maybe one day my wife will let me get one she pretty much cut me off for all RC stuff right now💯👍👊
@@earlmoorhead5555 actually to be honest I am in recovery 4 years now that's what happens when you get shot in the neck 10 days before your 18th birthday and outside your high school and then the doctors put you on oxycontin and then they take you off them not even a year later when you're addicted to them so you keep buying them on the streets and no one wants to help you

I might have to try the nitro someday. I just know I'll have to go somewhere to run it because I live in the country where neighbors aren't to far away and the noise echos forever lol
I wanted to comment on the tuning. If you have enough fuel coming into the engine on the high speed needle and plenty of blue smoke but it's still not idling down like it should, this usually means that the low speed needle needs to be opened up just a tiny bit. In doing so, will provide more fuel at low speed and the idle will drop. Don't confuse the idle stop screw for your idle adjustment. The idle stop screw is to set the gap between the carburetor venturi and the slide valve that opens and closes when you pull the throttle trigger. The gap should be at 1mm or slightly less.
When you had it running it was idling high. If it does that again, try opening the low speed needle just a bit but allow it to warm up a little before you make any adjustments
I started out with nitro … RC10GT with old school pull start and have had the electric start also … started buying electric and loved the plug and play… over all gonna say electric is easier but still like the nitros 👍👍👍
I have had both Nitro and Electric. I agree Nitro is cheaper. But I like Electric better. Less noise, less smell, no oil to cleanup/wipe off, I can run 8S or 6S if I need less power, and I can work on every part of the RC indoors (I live in Texas). 👍👍
After watching your nitro videos, I pulled the trigger on a 3.3 Revo. Should be here towards the end of next week. I hope it's not too hot to play, it was 113 here today.
If it ain't broke don't fix it. Brakes work good enough for you then you don't have to do the mod. Also since you adjusted throttle trim to open the carb more could be why the idle too high and also why the idle didn't go down when you backed out the idle screw. Throttle trim is holding it open not the idle screw. Just a thought
Your jato looks almost new wish mine looked like that. New ones Don't come with a wheelie bar I noticed. Yeah you have to maintenance both nitro and electric rc's especially if your not going to run them for awhile. Got to store charge your lipos or you'll have dead lipo's and you have to put after run oil in a Nitro and burn all the fuel out or you'll definitely will have problems getting them running the next time you want to run them. Both are nice to have.
Man I have a jato sitting on my shelf right now with a new motor never been started and been sitting in buddy's closet for 6 years before I got it. I'm not a nitro guy lol
I don’t have a jato but it’s on my list of one to get all the places I check for them don’t have any but when I find one I’m getting one electric vs nitro they both have there plus’s and minus’s depending on where you run them in surrounding areas as nitros are kind of loud and could be a nuisance for some as electric is quieter so depends there both fun but durability wise I think electric for me just because it seems like I’m working on nitro cars more than my electric cars

I'd say your brakes are great cause your Jato seems to be almost new, after a little while the brake cam block will wear down and so will the disc, then you will notice poorer brakes.
