About the fuel changing, really not a big deal, as you just saw you only have to adjust the tune. But the switch itself cannot harm the motor. Only dirt and over heating can KILL it. BTW for increasing compression over time you will notice there are shims around the cooling head (once you remove the head), if you remove the shims you increase compression. I've never had to do it yet, but that's the logic with the head shims.

I had the 2.5 4tech then got the 3.3 t max. Tbf if it wernt for traxxas and the usability they brought to the average rc enthusiasts that maybe was hesitant to get into nitro. They made it feel a lot easier with there quick start rtr packages. Will always have a soft spot for a tmax even though I don't run nitro stuff anymore.

And yes bro, the dog should be on a leash, you never know how they will react to noise RCs. In my experience they either chase them for fun or try to bite the tires off if you slow down enough, both have happened to me.

I hate when I put the wrong fuel in my rc. I keep all my bashers on 20 % and racing ones on 30%. Used to race at Jimmy's track out where your at..Another one is not switching the model on your transmitter, if your sharing multiple rigs.
When I had a Jato about 10yrs ago, tuning was difficult. But when I got rid of the air leak on the backplate, it ran like a charm. I should of left it alone when I put a OS 18 tz on it. It was the perfect power to weight ratio with a metal cage. It's when I put an onroad 1/8 Mugen Seiki .21cc engine in it, is when the Jato and a parking block Eloped 😅. In a all the fun I forgot the brakes were just a little small composite disc.

Traxxas engines run pretty warm that's why they put a shit load of oil in the blue top fuel, if it's getting to hot you probably have an air leak , I got me a h.p.i savage and never looked back, had it for 14 yrs with hardly no issues at all running v.p. fuel 20% NM 14% oil I'm now on my 9th gallon of fuel through it

Second off the mistake you made with putting in the 20% into the 3.3 actually gives a really good look at what the different nitro percentages do based off of a tuneup. Shows why sticking to the same nitro percentage really is a good idea so you’re not chasing your tail.
