Slush on a lake is some scary stuff. Haven't gotten into it with a ski plane but a number of times on a snowmobile. Have to hammer on the throttle when you look back and see a trail of slush behind your sled. Excellent video and decision making
Awesome video. That scenery is absolutely incredible. Also, after seeing his cap and being an Oklahoman myself, I'd be remiss to not extend a "BOOMER SOONER" to Mitch!
Hey Chris, not sure what happened, but for me the volume levels are all over the place this video. Love your content though and keep the great videos coming! I have used a lot of your stuff as teaching material with my students
Very cool video! Happy Birthday wishes to your wife !! Landing on a remote lake with skis is not something you want to do without having a rescue capability already in place. Winter in remote Alaska is pretty unforgiving.
Before making a full stop, drag the entire length of a lake with a heavy footprint (slow). Get airborne again and visually inspect your tracks with a few hundred feet of altitude. You can most always see the overflow areas and avoid stopping in those spots. Heavier the aircraft (C-185), bigger the bitch it is to get out of overflow.
@@angleofattack no worries buddy it was awesome meeting you! We will save you a seat at the tiki bar next year and yes, same spot. Nicole has a special drink she invented just for you!

Jaw dropping scenery, with an important lesson!! Great video!
Thanks!
Well done Chris.... if I didn't know any better I,d say those little Pipers are growing on you 😁
Pretty incredible stuff. I'm digging the action montages!
Hell yeah!
Great scenery! Love ski flying up here! You should go for a ride with your former student in his hopped up 170. You’ll love it.
Chris, Great job on the video. Sucks you guys got stuck but it looks like you did a good job working through it. Have a great week.
It was a big struggle.

Interesting, informative and beautiful. The sort of recreational flying I cannot do here in Australia! Thanks Chris. Cheers.

Next time you have a pacer ski convention… let me know… hehe sweet and getting stuck is just part of it…

Is the pa-20/22 starting to grow on you?😎
Amazing!
Good stuff! Crazy this type of flying will only be a few short months away.
Cool videos! Do you do a run up with skis and no brakes?
Seems like forever that I have waited for this next installment - that scenery though...
Which remote lake did you land on? I need to put in on my list for the future because those views were EPIC

There's a problem with the sound in your footage and we can't ear the cockpit conversation. Like a sound distortion. Otherwise it looks awesome! 😊

Audio is toast on this vid there bud
I know. They don't have great intercoms in those old planes. My airplane sounds great.
@@angleofattack it was my phone being buggy it was fine on the tv
Even the professionals can get stuck. lol
Still waiting for my sticker.....
RON! Dude, AirVenture threw me for a loop my friend. I'll make it up to you. Gonna have the Tiki bar in the same spot?

What's with the sound?? Terrible advertisement for Bose Sound.
Good sounds depends on a good intercom.
Bad audio
