For any UK buyers, CEX sell G27 at £145. I got mine from CEX and the only bits that shout second hand is a scratch in the plastic on the side of the pedal plate and then a bit of the stitching in the leather being undone which is easily re-stitchable. Sure not complaining for something that's been out for almost 9 years now and includes the shifter as well compared to the g29/g920 which are £200 + £30-40 for the shifter. The pedals for a realistic brake like the g29/g920, just get a brake spring mod and you can also use that as an advantage for the gas too by giving the gas the original brake spring so it's not so light to the touch.
VERIFIED: the G27 pedals, power supply and shifter WILL work on the G920, with the exception of the buttons and D-pad on the G27 shifter. I currently have both also!
In Australia, the G27 is about $200AUD (used) while a G920 w/shifter is around $350AUD (used). I manage to get the G920w/shifter for $250AUD (brand new) and it's awesome. Should you get the G920 or G29. If you can find a newer model which goes for a good price then I would suggest you get it. Takes Research and Patience to get it for a good price.
Obviously if you already own a 27 then you don't need to upgrade. I don't think the new model is a serious "upgrade" option- and I think logitech already knows this. I think the G920 is pointed at those who don't have a wheel at all. Like me :)
Technically the g27 has more buttons because of the H shifter, because of the D pad on it and the actual shifter, and you can use the shifter for buttons. That is my opinion, but I can under stand that your meaning on the wheel but still, I think the g27 has just as many or more buttons.
@@OugaBoogaShockwave it all depends on whether the plug for the shifter on your g25 is the same as the port on the g920. I just bought a second hand g27 in great condition for $150 (cad). On ebay/amazon they are mostly marked up by the sellers because of its demand/ cease of production
The G27 is discontinued and they have to raise the price to $1,200.00 if you want a brand new one because of it’s value. Better off just buying a used one, or dont even buy a G27. A brand new G920 is like $200.00 bucks now (as of 2019). Good luck.
g27 has an h shifter INCLUDED with 8 extra buttons plus a d pad So in total the G27 that cost $200 and comes with an 6 speed H shifter has 15 buttons plus a dpad and the 920 with H shifter costs $400 and has 8 buttons... What are you talking about running out of buttons on the g27 and not the g920??? WTF?
I found my G27 on eBay a few years back and bought it for about $250 USD. I might sell it once my replacement shifter comes in for about $200 to $250 in a couple months lol
Good video. Just one correction, the brake pedal does not have a progressive spring. Logitech just jammed a rubber block behind a normal spring. The brake pedal moves normally for the first 1/2 of the travel then it becomes very stiff for the latter half, just because you're now pressing not against a spring but against a rubber block.
+mariomdv It's called the Nixim mod, and it's been available for the G27 for quite a while now, including a progressive spring ;) I used an o-ring and some grease on my brake pedal. It's now an air-tight cylinder, and it takes quite a bit of push to get the wheels to lock up.
Even with a G25 I never run out of buttons, because I use this wheel for car races and not as a keybord for my smartphone. ;-) And I have now idea why I should burn 300 bucks for a wheel, that looks like a playstation controler without the H-shifter. The G920 looks like "make mo money with less quality".
The Gamerz Podcasts Where the fuck did he say it was a load cell ? He said it was non linear with a progressive spring or something which indeed it is non linear the force neared increases the more you depress pedal due to compressing the rubber (mod), hence the non linear feel !
From what I heard they used the G27 community settings for FF instead of having them at max or near like the G27... Community settings are apparently more balanced.
Logitech, re releasing the same wheel with different button layouts and no shifter for a stupid price. I own the G920 but got it for $200 refurbished, a year later I just bought a Thrustmaster TX Ferrari 458 setup for $150 refurbished and their T3PA pedals new for $100... a HUGE (better) difference, if you can afford it.
yeah, g920 has no buttons on shifter at all. And it has no shifter with it either =)) And g27 comes with shifter out of the box. Plus 8 buttons and D-pad.
At 10:46 my g920 doesn't feel that light what the heck. Mine feels broken when I drift. It locks sometimes and I bought it brand new. Or is not centred after a corner
I prefer the way the g920 looks to be honest, I don’t own one myself but I hear the brake on the g920 is really stiff and hard to use, but you could spend maybe 10 minutes taking the spring out, also if you want to play racing games on the xbox as well you should get the g920 instead of having 2 wheels

can i please get a gaming wheel old or new that is compatible with pc ill really really appreciate it i live in Jamaica and steering wheels are impossible to find because they dont sell here and amazon is not compatible with my country plz help me in any way you can
i got the g920 things a fucking bitch to drift compard to irl, probs my pissweak table that almost falls over every time i go to flick. its a good wheel worth my money but i need more patience haha.
I recently picked up the G920, with the shifter, i recommend you pick up the "Next Level Racing Stand" worthy investment.. allows you to bolt the wheel, Pedals to the frame that is fully adjustable, basically making it a cockpit, and so much more realistic, oh and it has a mount for your shifter too, mounts it down in the proper position.. so realistic, makes the whole experience so much better. It is super sturdy, which will allow you to drift so much easier. you can flick the wheel, slam the brakes (although I'm on carpet and it can slide if you slam too hard) It also includes the bolts for the hard mounting. Here's the link: www.nextlevelracing.com/products/next-level-racing-wheel-stand/
I thought the G27 wasn't compatible with Xbox One. Why would you compare a wheel that is made to work with Xbox One with a wheel that won't work with Xbox One.. at least not without a converter.
Mi Nero quite the opposite... it's not scratched bro it's got a see-through plastic sticker to actually prevent scratching and people getting fingerprints on it 😅
and than comes the xbox 2 and G something is released....and you see its the same thing...and in the end we see that we could have used only the g27.... thats the same for the ps4 wheels....logitech is working close to MS and sony.... $$$$ and if i am not mistaken, FANATEC wheels, works for both systems and for older ones like ps2 and ps3/xbox 360....
They are the fucking same... Every sim racer with experience knows they are the same and anyone who says different is a liar. It's a massive scam from logitech and that's a stone cold fact. But for Xbox users. the G920 makes sense. But only because of lack of options. however. Thrustmaster is the way all sim racers need to go after the bullshit scam logitech tried to pull
It may be the same, but I'm probably going to still buy the G920. I'm going to sell my G27 and get that because I want to play on the XBone (I can't play Horizon 3 on the PC for some reason). I would go for Fanatec, but I'm just a filthy casual and can't justify spending that much on a set up. Maybe if I won a couple grand from the lottery or just get really lucky on a setup.
CapnFlappyJaw Well then, rather than buying into a scam, consider getting a thrustmaster wheel for your console. Fanatec are indeed very pricey. I would like one tho. However, i'm a PC player, and my G27 is still working perfectly. When it stops working or is just too outdated i will move to Thrustmaster, who are a company who seem to actually care about their customers and not out to screw them. It's a matter pf principle at this point. I don't blame new people coming in to sim racing buying the logitech bullshit, but i can't understand how a person can have a g27 and then go out and buy what is essentially the exact same wheel for a premium price, because it has a slight software upgrade and works with an XBone or PS4... If you want a new wheel get a better wheel. Get a thrustmaster. Thrustmaster also have better compatibility across the board. or buy a scam from logitech.... the choice seems a no brainer to me.
DAGATHire I totally agree with you about getting a thrustmaster wheel instead for Logitech. However though the Thrustmaster becomes very expensive when you buy the TP-3A pedals and the TH8A shifter. Overall where I live, a thrustmaster Tx wheel with good pedals and shifter will cost about $1000 AUD. So if you are on a tight budget like me, I would rather spend $400 on a Logitech G920 than spend $1000 on a Thrustmaster wheel. It's good also if you've had the G27 previously too because you can actually use the G27 shifter with the G29 and G920 wheel so that will save about $80 (where I live). But I will only recommend this wheel if you want to drive a wheel on Xbox one. Otherwise if u just play on PC, then just keep the G27 (if you have one) and just buy a brake mod. (Unless you want to buy the wheel cause you just want the brake mod but I wouldn't spend $400 just for that).
Jordan Mazzaroli I don't have a problem with new racers coming in and buying the g29/920... That's fine. what i have a problem with is Logitech selling us 8 year old wheels with stupid cosmetic changes, then charging a premium price more than the g27, and removing the shifter from the deal. you have to buy that extra along with the really old outdated wheel. They can got to fuck! and im not the only sim racing player saying that. Lots of people were waiting for logitech to launch a new wheel to compete with newer wheels from fanatec and thrustmaster, but logitech totally lied, in the beginning they marketed it as NEW! totally NEW... fucking liars. Fuck logitech. i'll never buy another product from those cunts. But! Yes i totally understand people who are buying their first wheel.. Makes sense. The price is right... but don't forget the wheel you are buying is nearly a decade old. It's fucking ancient... but if you believe logitech... it's NEW.. and you got to ask yourself, is a decade old wheel worth that money???

Bought a G920 recently. First let me say I have a powerful gaming PC. Spent the better part of a week trying to make the thing work. First the steering wheel would not work. Read the web pages and finally I had steering. Then the pedals would not work. Adjusted every possible button within the game, the thing just would not work. Last week I repacked it and sent it back for a refund. I’m back to my T150 Thrustmaster. What a pleasure!
Do not upgrade unless you are like me, i had a logitech momo and it was from i believe 2005 im not sure but it was rlly old and useless. I bought g29. So far i have bad experience with g29 first one broke force feedback and was making awful sound second one the pedal scratched. Do not upgrade from g27 or g25 to g29!!
i sold my g27 but still have a g25, so can i use my g25 shifter with g920 ? would that give me even more buttons ? does the g25 shifter work with g920 ?
Went through 4 G920's they all broke within a month and the FFB was "ok"....over priced garbage. TX may be even less reliable but I have been using mine for 2 years with no problems and the FFB is night and day.
The "realistic" brake on G920 is joke, on g27 i love to play asseto Corsa but when i bought G920 i found out there are almost no brakes in cars.. To get fair brake force i need to literally stand with my all weight on the brake pedal to make it start working, and still the brake isn't very effective :/ mayby its just setup but for me g27 is way much better to play and easier to configurate
As a PC gamer, the upgrade is absoluetely not worth it in my opinion.
TerrasClip yeah, i would only get the g920 because the g27 is very hard to find new or slightly used

If you would have bought the G29 instead of the G920, then you would have had the nice looking rpm lights on the top like the G27 has. =)
i would like to know if the buttons on the g27 shifter also work with the buttons on the g920 when connected with xbox
will test it!
Thanks..
+Marow Beastings From what I have read, they do not work.
perfect.. so id have to mod new e-brake.. thanks MegaAlalil
the shifter itself work, just not the buttons on it
Where is the mount?
did anyone notice at 2:05 the horn button on the wheel is scratched?
Mi Nero quite the opposite... it's not scratched bro it's got a see-through plastic sticker to actually prevent scratching and people getting fingerprints on it 😅
4:41 he said Xbox 360
Where's the in depth test video?
I can't fin it on his site. Did he ever do it?
@@rogerwhitney7720 no idea tbh
and than comes the xbox 2 and G something is released....and you see its the same thing...and in the end we see that we could have used only the g27....
thats the same for the ps4 wheels....logitech is working close to MS and sony.... $$$$
and if i am not mistaken, FANATEC wheels, works for both systems and for older ones like ps2 and ps3/xbox 360....
look at the price of the fanatec v2 base. Its 600€
+Leon Lange and with Pedals and everything to get it working in both systems it costs about 1200-1300€
Sadly i don't have money for even a DFGT xDD
But if you have a G27, it still a beast.
I agree with you
It may be the same, but I'm probably going to still buy the G920.
What is the voltage range on the power supply is it 120V only at 60hz or universal at 100 - 240V 50/60Hz?
40v

if u use the g29 and not the g920 on the g29 u still have the shift light indicator
I’m looking for a new wheel but I cannot decide on which one to get. I will either get the g27 or the g920.
Get thrustmaster tmx or servo base. Logitech is trash.
Is it just me or the chasi looks like a mustand from the front
Where's the follow up on this video?
Is a shifter add-on necessary for the G920, or can you just use the paddle shifters only? Thanks...
Add on
No. Most modern racecars are sequential so the paddles are fine. I would only recommend it if you're like racing vintage cars or play truck sims
@@TheBoostedDoge Thanks for your reply, the paddle shifters are working great..
Can someone tell me if you can turn off force feedback?
yeh you can
does the g27 shifter work with the g920 wheel
Yes
do those mount adapters come with the wheel or do you have to buy seperate?
Mounts should come with
Should i get base tmx set for 130 or by used g27 for 150 with shifter and clutch
Tmx
i sold my g27 but still have a g25, so can i use my g25 shifter with g920 ? would that give me even more buttons ?
does the g25 shifter work with g920 ?
Hello, yes, you can use the g25 shifter on the g920, but i dont think, that you have more buttuns then.
@@rcbasher2760 good enough, the 920 plenty buttons but i wasn't sure if the shifter worked with it
does the 920 come with pad
do you need a pad for forza on pc
does the keyboard come with it
No
No
No
Went through 4 G920's they all broke within a month and the FFB was "ok"....over priced garbage. TX may be even less reliable but I have been using mine for 2 years with no problems and the FFB is night and day.
10:29 not if your chair has stops on them!!!!
10:20 what are those?
Pedals
Have you ever seen a real car?
@@Kasmuller you really have no sence of humour and don't know your memes.

Also IF i buy this im definetly getting a playseat evolution
upgraded from g27 to g920 ow do i attacht my old g27 shifter to it?
Hello, yes, you can use the g27 shifter on the g920
The "realistic" brake on G920 is joke, on g27 i love to play asseto Corsa but when i bought G920 i found out there are almost no brakes in cars.. To get fair brake force i need to literally stand with my all weight on the brake pedal to make it start working, and still the brake isn't very effective :/ mayby its just setup but for me g27 is way much better to play and easier to configurate
Calibrate your peddles
When you do an unboxing and it's clearly already been opened!
In my country a second hand g920 is cheaper than the g27... So I think I will buy the first one
Logitech be scamin the g29 is the same wheel but for ps4 or pc and it has the rev indicator and they are the same price
