Hello dears. Wonderful to see a new upload today. I have a water infection, and am pissing green (green being both a noun and adverb in this context), so this delightful repair on the "C1" (which is French for "C1") was a most welcome distraction. Blessings.
Well done, and with one hand, disappointed you didnt drop a screw inside the door, then struggle to find it. I usually !! Or as i did yesterday, i dropped a T40 bit down the side of the engine, heard it ping off a couple of things on the way down ! Never to be seen again.
It’s supposed to make a small clicky sound as it goes past the lugs on the check strap yea. Best way to judge if it sounds/feels right is the compare it to the passenger side as it’s unlikely that both would fail at once. The drives side is most prone to failing as like anything else in a car, that seat is always taken.
I've had to bin the suzuki mate I'm gutted the cat that is part of the manifold has rotted on the flange that connects to the centre pipe it won't even weld, the 02 sensors are welded in and all is original to the car (17 years old) I'm struggling to find a cat, I called the suzuki main dealers in the end as I needed a good laugh as local motor factors couldn't help, due to the back log in japan and an increase in part prices £2500 just for the cat direct from suzuki on the M13A engine, but it also needs the centre pipe and 02 sensors..... So I've got a Fiat Panda to rag the nuts off now

I could be wrong, but I don't think the steering wheel controls will work (regardless of stereo) on a MK1, as they don't have a Canbus system (generally a good thing!). Canbus = electrical unreliability.

Great video. Changed both front door check straps for new ones after watching this video. Keep up the videos. Doing water pump and belt change next
Thanks mate. I’ve done a video on that too! Here it is if you haven’t already seen it

You’re very welcome, and I hope you’re better soon and that your maggot doesn’t fall off or anything.
Wicked video.
Mainly watched it for door card removal, but it was very entertaining and I learned a lot.
Top job.
Good stuff, glad it was useful.
Comedy and informative value all in one video! And it didn't rain during filming ....Yes! 😂
That makes a change,.. on all counts 😂

practically perfect. the leverage on those is mighty ,,,

Cheers mate. That T40 is probably inside the timing chain cover 🤷♀️
Classic foot tap !
Not as good as the OG one on your street.
My check strap is useless , always cautious of pranging the car parked next to me on a car park ! huge help bud !
Good to hear you found it useful 🙃
Another masterclass on the shitter no2 👍
Damn nice repair mate.👍
Thanks mate
I was a bit daft one day and put grease on the check strap. It still grips but it's definitely not as strong of a hold as it used to be.
That’s why I didn’t even bother to clean this one off 🤣
I had to grease the passenger side strap on mine as the friction was causing it to be a bit noisy and disturbing the neighbours late at night.
@@AC-um2mk yea they can get noisy when they dry up
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yeh, especially on the older models 🤣
Splendiferous. Just disappointed you didn't do while it was snowing for maximum effect.
Or sideways rain, that’s always a nice touch.
Yeah, there wasn't even a noisy, ravenous mob hanging around outside the car while he was doing it either. Standards are slipping I reckon!

I don’t advise it,.. I insist on it.
Buen video pero yo los saqué y los reparé, les coloque unos cortes de lata en el plastico que hace de freno .
bonne idée, je viens d'en acheter une d'occasion dans une voiture de récupération

Tim, I think the previous owner has modified it for his larger figure.
Maybe I should have just left it then lol
It’s not a PSA car unless the check strap clunks loudly when it’s operated 😊
On my old 306’s back in the day, it was a standard feature.
