Below, following this post I compiled a spreadsheet of every Baalke draft pick during his tenure as general manager. The results are even more disturbing than I thought they would be. While some of the 2011 picks are released/retired/out of the league, it’s the later picks that really show what’s been going on. Baalke made 61 picks total. 41 percent of those picks (26) are either free agents or retired as of this writing. That means with the exception of those few retirements, not only did they not fit in with the 49ers, they didn’t fit in anywhere. Going a bit further, I looked at how many of those 61 picks were outright released by the 49ers. Full disclosure: when the 49ers waived a player, I counted it as a release. If the player wound up on the practice squad, I tried my best to make sure this was documented as a ‘release’ (Kaleb Ramsey is listed as a retirement). Something to keep in mind with this data. With that in mind, the number rounds out to 35. 35 players or 57 percent of all of Trent Baalke’s draft picks either were released by the team or retired during their time with the 49ers. Over half. Note, in the data below, I have free agency listed as an option, however I didn’t dive too far into it as free agency is an entirely different beast.
Tbh they didn’t even play the Texans that well. The only reason they were even in that game was the Texans repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot. CJ played out of his mind and if it weren’t for the rest of the offense getting a penalty every other play I’d bet the spread would be a lot greater

Wide receivers with key drops, poor blocking, poor qb play and lack of diversity on defense is not going to win you games. End of the day we need new coaching as we are stuck with this roster which on paper shouldn't be bad. Press Taylor at every stop of his career when he is in charge of on offense cannot call a clean game. Penalities and sputtering on the offense kept this game closer than it should have been. Sims on special teams on the first punt was rough to sit through. Overall a win is a win!
That one lucky playoff run for the Jags really overshadows how bad the team is. They threw 4 ints and won because the chargers handed them the game. The Jags are just a bad team all around.

I've been a jags fan my whole life and have seen some awful seasons over the years. However, this year hurts a bit more than the rest.
Let’s hope that the Trevor Lawrence contract isn’t Blake Bortles all over again. I’m a Patriots fan expecting another long season but I find it a bit puzzling that the Jags owner Shad Khan is getting more impatient with Doug Pedersen than he ever did Urban Meyer. Granted Doug has been around longer and there’s higher expectations but still, they better make sure to at least keep him until the end of the season even if everything goes haywire to where Pedersen has to be fired.
Life long Falcons fan here: I feel for you, jags fans. This reminds me of when the Falcons surprisingly started 0-5 in 2020. I’d like to say it gets better, but the Falcons have been mediocre ever since so I really don’t know. All I can say for a certainty is keep your heads up, Jags fans.
The Texans should be 2-2. The Texans gave up another special teams freebie which led to a Jags touchdown. The current Texans special teams play is reminiscent of the Bill O’Brien era when the Colts special teams always seemed to catch Uncle Bill’s boys off-guard. The O’Brien boys also got called for a lot of penalties on punt returns and kickoffs. The Texans offensive line play is also reminiscent of the O’Brien era or should I say lack of play. The execution is often poor and penalties are common. I believe that Laremy Tunsil’s false start penalties during game situations are due to a hearing problem caused by background noise.
I’m a Texans fan buuuuut I’m not going to lie. Trevor Lawrence is the reason the jags are bad. His receivers in the first half of yesterday’s game had insane seperation and he missed 2 tds by over throwing, with time in the pocket. Not to mention that terrible draw, the dude literally crumpled when he first made contact. Texans should have lost again because of the amount of penalties 🤷♂️ when you give almost 100 yards of penalties you shouldn’t win
He did not play well at all. Overthrows are probably from him being jumpy from constant o-line instability. Needs to step up and show why we paid him 250M dollars
Tlaw overthrows every good play. There were two touchdowns that they could've had but trevor blew it. I think this season has exposed everyone for who they really are.
Ppl saying trevor lawrence was a generational talent never watched the same highlight reel i saw when coming out of LSU. The dude was a game manager at best.
Always take the points. I know its called 4 down territory but take the points there was still a whole quarter of football left with a 6 point lead let your defense make a play and get the ball back.
I don't believe they said he was possibly One of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. A lot of people were saying he's a generational talent He's the best thing since Andrew luck. Which hasn't been true either
I'm just starting to believe the jaguars are just a beat up team. They aren't meant to be a winning team. Just for fans of other teams to have cheaper tickets when they play the jags
I pin the blame on the Jaguars front office for why this team is slumping. The video focuses a lot on Lawrence and the offensive skill positions, but it takes two hands to clap in order to build a contender. The offensive line and defense has pieces, but they are not meshing together. The Jaguars secondary is especially brutal looking at the depth chart. Trying to build a great offense is one thing, but what about when you DON'T have possession of the ball? Unless the Jaguars start looking into covering their glaring weaknesses, other teams are going to feast on them hard.
Press Taylor was the Colts top offensive assistant in 2021 when Wentz choked and scored 11 points in a must win game vs the 2-14 jaguars. Trevor is 0-9 his last 9 games with the poison press calling plays eagles went 4-12 in 2020 under Press Taylor’s guidance
I think the Jaguars should inspire change by getting a good quarterback in the draft. Who would have thunk that an r-baiting quarterback wouldn't be a good quarterback in the NFL.
Wow, how do you miss the biggest story of the weekend. Duke is 5-0 and got the victory bell back. You seem to be slipping a little bit but I still like your content.
They play the colts in Jacksonville next. Colts can’t win there whatsoever for whatever reason, so it should be penciled in as a win. I think this team has plenty of talent and their record is decieveing. If they can get a win vs the colts, it’s gives them soemthing to build on and they could get rolling.
Been saying Trevor was a bust for the last 2 years everyone calling me dumb but he is a bust in the sense that everyone thought he’d be a generational Pick and he’s far from that so for what he was advertised as he’s a bust flat out simple

And the lesson: don’t mess with the terrible towel.
Doug Pederson's seat is more than warm it's gotta be SCORCHING at this point. He should've been fired after the loss in Buffalo.
They paid trevor lawrence 160 million with record of 20 to 30 ,and one playoff win .that called karma just like danny dimes with the giants

As a Panthers fan I’m glad it’s not us this time. Don’t get me wrong we’re still pretty bad but at least with Andy Dalton we look competitive.
Fall aint here yet. Im in Florida and it feels like its still summer😂
Always take the points. I know its called 4 down territory but take the points there was still a whole quarter of football left with a 6 point lead let your defense make a play and get the ball back.
At some point yall need to stop blaming meyer for trevor still being bad
I can't believe the Jags are so bad. Wait...yeah I can, they're the Jags.
What a shame giving lawrence that huge contract. They are horrible.
Jags were outgained by a large margin in this game. If not for a lot of Texan penalties this game is a blow out. Paid too much for lil’ Prince
idk why we can’t see it’s all press taylor. he can’t call plays he’s terrible
he’s playing madden calling plays
Me being a jaguars fan it’s so painful but at the end of day, I’m used to it because they do this every year. I’m not surprised.
0:16; Yeah, no. Titans won tonight, so that's not happening.
With the Titans win over the Dolphins, this makes Jacksonville the worst team in the leg
Jags never should have disrespected the terrible towel.
Trevor Lawrence actually not playing bad it’s the offense of play calling cause he’s improved in not Turing the ball over
No Tevor lawrence missing a wide receiver by 5 yards is not Urbans fault
Brian Thomas Jr baby. Brian Thomas Jr.
I dont think the Jags are the worst. The O line is so bad that everywhere else falls apart on Offense. With an average line the Jags are 3-1
Shout out to the Texans for making them look better than they are (horrible).
Being a Jags fan has to be rough
It's a roller coaster to say the least
No not really
How long will it be before they can admit that Trevor Lawrence is a bust?
Plz remove these Alex Rosner replies.
Love your video J&D and keep up the great work you are awesome
Never looked at football before when I saw this team I was shooked how bad they were , bunch of people needs to be fired, quarter back first
Biggest waste of a constant good-great draft position
Being a jaguars fan is depressing
Wow, how do you miss the biggest story of the weekend. Duke is 5-0 and got the victory bell back. You seem to be slipping a little bit but I still like your content.
They play the colts in Jacksonville next. Colts can’t win there whatsoever for whatever reason, so it should be penciled in as a win. I think this team has plenty of talent and their record is decieveing. If they can get a win vs the colts, it’s gives them soemthing to build on and they could get rolling.
Just move the Jaguars to the UK already.
I don’t think they are the worst, but definitely the most disappointing.
Been saying Trevor was a bust for the last 2 years everyone calling me dumb but he is a bust in the sense that everyone thought he’d be a generational Pick and he’s far from that so for what he was advertised as he’s a bust flat out simple
Doug Pederson only won a SB cuz of Foles
Jags and my Steelers need to make some trades together gimme Kirk or Travis whatever they want
Don't worry Jag fans, a one billion+ new stadium will fix all the teams problems.
You shouldve added the muffed punt that got the jags that td at the start of the game
Nope. That would be the Panthers........
Doug Peterson is to blame for all of this theres a reason the eagles parted with him the current coach isint any better but still.
No, it's the Miami Dolphins. Without Tua, Dolphins are the worst NFL team.
Titans just won. NOW the Jags are the worst team.
he missed two wide open tds… one to kirk one to btj… yes he was bad
The offensive line isnt good
It seems the NFL hates cats.
Jaguars got potential to be good. The new York Giants and the Dallas cowboys however are complete garbage.
Mark brunell best onsyer they ever had
jax covered. thats all that matters.
Doug Peterson needs to be fired, Trevor Lawrence is overpaid
Colts looks pretty bad as well
I'm sure the Jags have good company in the NFL
I think we can expect a baker like story from Trevor
Jaguars are back to being irrelevant
the Cardinals have entered the chat
But the owner told me it was there best lol delusions. Hahahahahaha
This shit has me sick to my fucking core!!! Why man, WHY!
LETS GOOOOO TITANS!!!
