I was initially unhappy about the lack of reunion between Leif and Thorfinn too but considering the circumstances it makes sense that the priority is on Arnheid's condition and in retrospect I think it works really well, if anything reinforcing the severity of Ketil's actions. Plus the moments we get between Thorfinn and Leif both in ep 19 and the rest of Season 2 more than make up for it imo
It 100% makes sense given the context but I'm still disappointed there wasn't that reunion. I didn't really think it worked as well as you say since Ketil's action were severe enough that it didn't really change much. Beating a pregnant woman to death doesn't need reinforcement. We were edged for long enough to deserve something like his reunion with Helga.
@@aliasliam9728 yea but how would it have been a good reaction when leif is like omg hello thorfinn and hes just seen one of his friends beaten to death it wouldnt have been a satisfying reunion which makes it even better since teh show actual takes the risk that we dont alwasy get this picture perfect reunion
During Arnhied's "dream" we see a Stag and a Wolf, both represent Einar and Thorfinn. If you look at the 2nd OP for season 1 we see Thorfin and a Wolf. Our boy is a lone wolf. The Stag (Einar) and the Wolf (Thorfinn) represent the life that is still trying to fight to survive in the "horrible" and dark world Gardar is describing.
I mean I think he actually is "nice" (for this time period) given how we can assume he has been for 99.99% of his life. I don't think how he acts during basicly a psychosis should be what you use to determine how he truly is, no one is going to seem sane in any way what so ever during a psychosis.
People really like to look at things from one angle and come to conclusions immediately. Lookin' at it from our point of view, the modern era. And not from their point of view, the dark ages or sum sht. Where insane sht is considered normal from that time.
@@BenganGamerhe was spineless and owns fucking slaves, he dangles freedom in front of them and when they finally are allowed to take it he reaps the rewards of the farmland they make for him. He buys slaves to buy more slaves. Too much wealth
Btw there's an extra scene in RUclips about the actual speech Ketil made to his men which they couldn't fit in the actual episode if you want to see it.
I honestly think that Ketil was done amazing by this show. It really shows how he was clinging to his only "safe haven" and when he lost even that, he totally lost himself. Easy to judge while watching, but i think a vast majority of people in his situation would totally snap like he did (or just commit unlive on spot as many peole do). It also amazing show of consequences. Had she left Gardar there, things could've been totally different. The story Ketil would hear would be "her old husband tried to kidnap her, but she decided to stay". Imagine how that story would resonate with broken Ketil. I think we would avoid this small battle and maybe even have some Gardar redemption, who knows.
its actually really nice that they didnt show a warm reuniting between leif and thorfinn looking at what did go on in that moment with arnheid its so good they pictured it like this
I walked away during that scene out of rage, it REALLY took its toll on me! And I'm sad to report that it wasn't the last time there's something else coming that made me stop and come back later to the episode (but mainly sadness and couldn't see the screen because of all the tears)
This was very difficult to watch. The show makes you kinda like Ketil in the beginning just to make him a douche and coward . It hurts seeing Arnheid in this situation...
kind of out of the topic, but you can just see that during these times, literally everyone and all types of races have been slaves and slave owners. it isnt just one group or the other. your fate was determined by your circumstances
yeah but the enslavement of african people was the worst by far. and for 400 years too. not really comparable to anything else. i dont know what you're trying to prove but i suggest you pipe down.
In romanized versions of Japanese words, there is no actual R sound. The r is soft, like in the l. So you were right in your pronunciation. That sound is written as, er, but it sounds more like el. So continue pronouncing it that way. That would be correct in japanese.
6:15 if Gandar never leave Arnheid they both would be slaves anyway. THEIR VILLAGE WAS GOING TO BE ATTACKED they couldn't avoided. Is not hard to understand .
it's only a possibility it would be attacked. Last episode, plus a few of the early ones introducing Gardar, said that they chose to go to war over iron fields. They wanted to not let them fall into control of another man that was very dominant with large forces, so that that group would not gain an advantage in more weapons/armor. So they did willingly choose to fight when they didn't have to, meaning it was not set in stone that they would have died or been enslaved. Knowing the man they were trying to stop from gaining an advantage, I do agree it is likely they would have been eventually attacked, but it is not a guarantee. Plus it is also possible that in a different battle, Gardar's forces may have won, however low the odds. Since we don't know the full strength of both sides in the fight
@BenganGamer as a one piece fan who thinks vinland saga and one piece are both incredible series, you sound just as dumb as the original commenter lol. Completely random but imagine how left out yall gonna be when the literal biggest piece of fiction on this planets ending comes out and yall had too much of an ego to watch prior. Like being able to go in blind to the star wars I am your father reveal, but yall don't even know

Legit the most difficult scene I watched in this show, I swear....
I was scared to watch this reaction because of that scene
hard chub

Oh nice, also like Robert Baratheon and Ned Stark from GOT, Stag and Wolf. Neat
“Ketil is a nice guy”
Famous last words 💀
In a way it's not wrong

Day 20 of asking Jack to watch Re:Zero.
Would be awesome
Bro that would be awesome
Jack Iron fist Ketil is old man Ketil 🫡
as far as I understood it Ketil just has the same name as iron fist ketil and people confused this Ketil with Iron fist Ketil and he played along
Day 196 of asking Jack to watch blue lock bc today is the 1 hour final of season 2 and it’s no longer frame lock
That just might not be worth it
Day 481 of asking Jack to watch code geass😂❤🎉😂🎉❤🎉😂🎉😂🎉😂
