I''m loving that Kaeya is being used more again since the drop of his skin! The boy deserves it, he is such a pleasant unit to use
Honestly, I think part of the reason Xiangling is used more than Kaeya, in addition to ICD, is that there's pretty much no other Pyro character that applies Pyro in a similar fashion to her. There's more options for off - field cryo application than Pyro. Yes, Bennet exists, but working around his field isn't always ideal for certain playstyles. And because Pyro is more appreciated than Cryo, Xiangling is more used IMO
The fact that rosaria is better than kaeya for freeze teams doesn't help either
Also, xiangling's burst snapshots, and she pairs up perfectly with Bennet, another widely used character

It does say, however, how easy it is to play this character. And for that reason, fpr many people, the easier is the better.
Why would I want to build a character that I don't like to use?
@@gerferiesgenerally? Yes. Kaeya specifically is weird, though, because he's someone everyone has, so that skews the usage rates because a lot of people drop him purely because he's a starter and not because he's actually bad to use lol
Despite his flaws, I’m determined to one day 36-star Spiral with Kaeya. It’s on my pride as a Kaeya main and someone who wants to also spite meta, and also to just flex on my friends who don’t have C4 like me lol
I have him c3 right now and i long for the day i get his C4, the shield looks so cool

In general, pull for 5star weapons and nearly every 4star can be main dps in abyss 12!
@@ichlebeindermoderne6939 Oh, he’s been using one since Ayaka’s last banner. I’ve just been in a crit rate struggle with him for months, but the crit split’s always a killer for progress lol
I only have c3 kaeyaya
One of the biggest weaknesses of Kaeya is that his constellations are SO HARD to get. Not only is he never featured on a limited banner (nor is he even available on them at all), all the free 4*s also appear to have FAR lower drop rate during wishes on the Standard Banner. To put it into perspective, I got 8 versions of Mona before I got c6 Kaeya (and that's ONLY on the standard banner, not all 50/50s).
Seriously, the new banner gave me his C6, and i was at C2 before. We can finally get cons now! Doesn't excuse how difficult it was before this.
Actually, we can always plan and save the stardust exchange. That's how I slowly save and finally got c6. It took a long time though, my Lisa, amber are also c6 by planning.
@justinchan7844 having to plan and save and get 2 constellations per year sucks. Yeah, it's how people have done it but when you don't have to do that for any other 4* it feels really bad. Especially when you can use those for wishes towards featured 5*. The starter characters should be on the limited banner. At a minimum, they should have higher drop rates on the standard.
Also, saving stardust to purchase cons doesn't make anything I said about the difficulty of getting his cons in wishes untrue.
I wanna build characters just usin defensive artifacts sets; like Oceanhue Clam, Retracing Bolide, the Pyro and Electro resist sets, Tiny Miracle and/or Defender's Will. I just wanna see how much damage could we reduce o mitigate. Characters with naturally high Def would really help, even Cyno has pretty high defence
very often substats matter more than artifact combos, exceptions almost always being 4p sets for supports (also emblem users because of how broken it is lmao). you could run ayaka on clam and very likely still clear anyway.
As someone who's mained Kaeya since I started playing and always uses him in spiral abyss, this made me really happy :D

This is pretty much the kaeya team I run when I want to run a freeze team lol. He’s my main and incredibly flexible with his simple and straightforward kit. It’s so fun to slot him on whatever random team I feel like playing that needs cryo. Always glad to see him get some love :D

Omg I love these videos so much- I’ve been using kaeya in my heizou freeze team with Layla and xq. Speaking of him though, I’d love to see a video about heizou - he has a super low use rate due to other anemo characters like kazuha and wanderer being how they are, but he still outputs solid dps and works really well with characters like thoma. Keep up the great videos and I look forward to seeing more in the future!
I've been using Kaeya National in Abyss for the longest time on my youngest alt account, and that team reliably clears every floor I use it on. I really believe that Kaeya is slept on, because he can be an amazing F2P Melt or Freeze option for anyone who chooses to invest in his kit. Personally, I've built Kaeya on almost all of my accounts in different ways: Blizzard, Emblem, Guilded, and even Pale Flame (he can SHRED with full Pale Flame). Super happy you made this video, and I can't wait to see who you choose to raise next!

@@Xx_Oleander_xX Technically it does do more DMG but I don't advise continuing to farm a domain that is resin inefficient for you (for example if you don't need the Millelith). Best to wait for the strongbox in that case and farm for artifacts you need more than Pale Flame.

Before watching video:
I was a Kaeya main until AR 56, so I'm gonna say Freeze is definitely the way to go. Best team for Main DPS Kaeya is actually Chongyun, Xingqiu, with a flex slot, usually Kazuha, Kokomi, or Jean (depends on healing needs and VV/Grouping needs). Chongyun's skill not only provides cooldown (usually unnecessary for Kaeya), but also makes Kaeya broken bc his normal attack scalings are really good, and giving them cryo bonus is overkill. Xingqiu allows you to make use of his normals while also giving you 100% freeze uptime. Kazuha is just there to keep everything in chongyun's circle and proc VV, but Kokomi is useful too, in those instances where you suck and get hit, while Jean is a good healer and VV proccer, but has terrible grouping. (Alternative single target teams are Kaeya, Chongyun, Shenhe, Kazuha for a busted mono cryo comp, and Kaeya, Chongyun/Bennett, Thoma, Kazuha [make sure Kazuha infuses pyro if you use chongyun] for an okay melt team. Alternatively, you can use Kaeya, Bennett, Kazuha with Layla for extra cryo. Or... well almost anyone, really. Even Xingqiu would work! Beidou too, but the overloads can get annoying if you aren't used to them)

Low usage rate! Okay, I considered Sayu, but I have a built Jean and not a built Sayu, so I didn't bring her up, but yeah, she totally works in situations where you don't need much grouping, and I'm also glad someone brought up Chongyun's amazing synergy with Kaeya. Kinda confused that you mentioned Kokomi as 100% hydro app and not Xingqiu, and I find all the normals make Xingqiu better because there are a LOT of instances where Kokomi's jellyfish is misplaced, since her radius is smaller than Chongyun's from all my testing. Love her, but, maybe it's skill issue talking, she's only better than Xingqiu if you NEED the healing. Can't argue with TTDS tho lol.
Kinda sad you didn't use Sayu and Candace (Candace especially, I didn't realize she had a heavy attack), but having two claymores on a freeze team does kinda suck.
Totally forgot to mention artifacts, but yeah BS is by FAR the best option for Kaeya (unless you use him as your Noblesse Sub DPS). For my team, Chongyun has Noblesse, Xingqiu has Emblem, and Kazuha has VV, obviously.
You didn't have 100% Freeze uptime, but in Abyss I guess it makes sense that you prioritized healing, even on a freeze team. Great work!

I beat that abyss with Kaeya using Shenhe/Kaeya/Layla/Kazuha, I have Kaeya c6 and he's pretty good.

That Abyss was the worst. It's really unfortunate that there was no way around using overpowered characters like Nahida or Kazuha. As someone who dislikes them both, it's always a shame to see interesting comps only to realize, oh yeah, it's just them again.
Understandable. I feel the same about Raiden. Eula comp? Raiden is your best option. Somekind of dendro-electro team? Raiden is your best option. And haven't even started talking about Raiden National... So tired of her, really.
Luckily for me, i do not own Kazuha, Nahida or Raiden, and still 3.7 abyss was easy for me, because i have Baizhu as a dendro-applier, and a really strong geo team. So it was much easier than let's say Wenut abyss. Hahaha~
@@atomicgrave4340 Oh, a Geo appreciator. You have good taste. I gave up on 36 star and just stick to 33... at Wenut, actually. With that, there's definitely a lot more team options, haha.
@@kyogre-blue i gave up at Wenut too, 35* (needed extra 15 seconds to finish him, decided it's not worth the stress), because at that point my only somewhat build dendro was mc (was waiting for Baizhu, so couldn't waste resources building Collei or YaoYao), and because i was lazy with exploration, he didn't have all cons. So i decided that i don't want to struggle, because maybe with some optimization i could get the last star (like moving Zhongli to the second half, and using Yunjin on the first, or some Heizhou+Xiangling shenanigans i dunno), but i decided nah~ too much trouble for a measly 50 primos. My pride was hurt though. First time since 1.6 i couldn't clear the abyss at 36*, but oh well, whatever, it's not like we have some leading board, so who the hell cares, right?
@@atomicgrave4340 Ayaka got me through the other chambers, but I couldn't do Wenut fast enough, though obviously there were people clearing with her. After that, I just never wanted to sweat over it. It's just 50 primos, after all.
@@kyogre-blue oh, sister appreciator, i have a brother though. But Wenut wasn't good for him because of cds, and overall scuffed rotation. I also saw people clearing it with Ayato, but they had either Raiden or Nahida on the team, so yeah... not possible again. I even saw some teams with Tartag nuke (i have a free c1 Tartag, so i decided to try), but in order to achieve the same result i needed the same weapon and same stats with the same talent levels, which i didn't had, and yet again decided not to waste resources. Well, i think after Fontaine we'll see smth even more horrible in abyss, though i hope Wenut won't return. He gives me nightmares even worse than pyro cube in its golden days in abyss. Brrr~
Kaeya is a great sub dps, but people are kinda dumb so yeah his usage is low

Depends on what you really want to do with him, harbinger of dawn isn't a bad option for him, blackcliff would also work (this is for freeze comps). For melt, iron sting can be used, for support, fav and sac sword work

They nerfed Barbara's Burst some time agao right? I want Xiangling next. Her Pyronado is also considered a "projectile"(or a summoned object) unlike Kaeya's Glacial Waltz. It technically 'chases' your character instead of actually a character-bound "status effect"
Barbara's burst wasn't even that bad of a nerf tho.. Don't ask them to nerf xiangling too thats just evil
