Dan Green said Marc Thompson is one of the greatest VA's ever. He's widely known in the Star Wars community for doing most of the Star Wars audiobooks, for which he has loads of unique character voices. It's very impressive considering he doesn't have a huge natural range.
I knew he was the voices for Astral and 96, but I only found out recently he did the voices for the Door of Destiny, Girag and Heartland in the dub The range on this man is literally phenomenal

No new characters leaked from his voicelines but it's still really nice that he has lines for a bunch of characters in the game. Yugi, Joey and Tristan I expected for sure but it's also really cool that he has lines for Pegasus and even Mai. The card dialogues are all really nice too. I really like that he has lines for pretty much every, if not every, monster he used as a card in the show including normal monsters like Spikebot, Yaranzo, Oni Tank T-34 etc. Orgoth the Relentless and Strike Ninja I've always really liked so I love Duke's lines for those. Can't wait to unlock and duel as Duke.
Fairly certain he'll be the last character we'll be getting from duel monsters. At the very least he'll be the last one from duel monsters for another year or 2
@@dumon4264 I highly doubt they'll ever completely stop giving us DM characters. The original series is too popular and there's so much nostalgia that Duel Links can draw from for it. Whether it's continuing to add characters to DM World and DSOD World or introducing other worlds like the datamined KCGP World, Duel Monsters characters are always going to be represented in some way while Duel Links is active. I do agree that as far as DM World goes I think they'll only add one or two characters every so often though. Duke finally being added two years after DM World's last unlock in Lumis/Umbra shows that they're still willing to add to the world occasionally though.

Those two I think could be sensible and good additions for DM World. In terms of characters that were in both the anime and manga (which I think is what you're asking) I wouldn't be a big expert on remembering all of them. I've had to look up most of the following to help me remember. That said I'd say there's at least still several they could add. Normal Marik and Grandpa Muto of course I mentioned above. I know they're Joey's cards but seeing that Duke's a dice master and pretty much every card he uses consists on dice rolls, I'm kinda surprised he doesn't have a line for Maximum Six, Graceful Dice and Skull Dice. It'd also be even more badass if he had Adamantine Sword Revival, Diamond Head Dragon, Dimension Dice and his Dice Dungeon. I'm hoping they'll let Rebecca have Adamantine Sword Revival and Diamond Head Dragon if we can get her one day
Wish I had a working GBA. I have a hankering to play some DDM right now and unfortunately it has never been rereleased to my knowledge. His dialogue makes me hope for it being a recurring event, though I am also hoping for Monster World to comeback. I love that event to the point that I've tried to recreate it for real life. Kinda need more cards to make it work comfortably though. I do love how he has lines for the Gradius cards since he used them in his videogame appearances prior to his cards getting printed and getting lines for some Dice monsters that were released after DM. I also love how he references the manga events in his conversations when he first encounters DM characters in the event. It honestly surprised me when I faced him as Tristan and he mentioned how he runs a food stand after his game store burned down which didn't happen in the anime.

They gave Duke quite a few lines for a variety of cards, he got it pretty good all things considered. Would be neat if we got Serenity at some point so we have basically the entire Battle City supporting cast, even if she only duels in the anime.

However, despite Marc being credited with voicing Sayer on a lot of sites I think it's another role that is incorrectly attributed/credited to the wrong actor. Since animes like Yu-Gi-Oh! only credit the actors and not the characters they voiced in the cast credits it leads to a lot of guess work and incorrect information online. A lot of corrections have had to be made in recent years and there's probably still some characters attributed to the wrong actors as a result of how the actors are credited in the shows. Just to use an example: All of the shows except VRAINS have multiple mystery cast members that no one knows who they voiced. Quite easily at least some of them could've actually voiced characters that are credited to other actors at the moment. I'm trying to reach out to as many of these cast members as possible and get more corrections made. It's not easy when some of the names are most likely aliases for other actors since some of the names generate no real results online. In the last few years there has been a bunch of corrections. Justin Badger being the real voice of Bruno/Vizor/Antinomy and not Jason Griffith. Justin also voiced Fortuno in ZEXAL who had been incorrectly attributed to Jamie McGonnigal. McGonnigal himself has confirmed he never worked on ZEXAL yet is still attributed with some roles from it on various sites. Duane Cooper being the real voice of Axel Brodie and not Marc Thompson. Erik Singer being the voice of Jim 'Crocodile' Cook and not Tom Wayland. Liza Kaplan being the voice of Blair not Lisa Ortiz. Rick Adamson being the voice of Lawton not David Wills. Marc D. Donovan being the voice of Hermann not Greg Abbey. Murray Thom being the real voice of Rex Goodwin. Those are just a few examples off the top of my head but there are others. In regards to Sayer I'm not convinced Marc Thompson is actually his voice. Maybe he is and I'm wrong but I'm unconvinced and I've never seen him take credit for that character. Absolutely amazing! The best DM character has finally arrived. It´s a good first step, but several of his cards are still anime-exclusive... There´s only a single thing that bothers me about his appearance in Duel Links: when he summons Orgoth, the dice from which his ace-monster appears from is red (Dragon-tribe) instead of blue (Warrior-tribe). I´m referring to the spells "Dice Dungeon" and "Dimension Dice" from when he dueled Nezbitt of the Big Five and "Adamantine Sword Revival" and "Diamond Head Dragon" from when he dueled Valon. Those four cards only exist in the anime. Do you perhaps mean his DDM-monsters? "Strike Ninja" and "Orgoth the Relentless" used to be physical game pieces (Figurine and card) in the real-life Dungeon Dice Monsters board-game, before they were printed as Trading cards for the mainstream Duel Monsters game. Now that I´m thinking about it... "Blast Lizard", "Gator Dragon" and all the other DDM-exclusive monsters would also be cool to have not just in DDM but also as cards for Duel Monsters. Can anyone tell me what his deck actually is? Based off the animie? I know he has lines with ninjas but is his deck spaceships? Like mecha phantom beasts or is it standard warriorsv
At LV40 his deck has two major strategies: The first being 4 Star Machine monsters with the quick play spell Limiter Removal to power them up for a OTK attack. The second (and more long term) strategy is to set up his dice monsters like Snipe Hunter and Orgoth combined with support cards like the continuous trap That’s Six in order to force the rolls he wants for devastating effects. Overall he’s not quite the pushover that many DM duellists tend to be, but he’s still not a hard challenge even at LV40 due to lacking a powerful Archetype or even busted individual cards (outsides of Limiter Removal anyways).

It´s a good first step, but several of his cards are still anime-exclusive...
There´s only a single thing that bothers me about his appearance in Duel Links: when he summons Orgoth, the dice from which his ace-monster appears from is red (Dragon-tribe) instead of blue (Warrior-tribe). Other than that? Amazing!

What do you mean?
I´m referring to the spells "Dice Dungeon" and "Dimension Dice" from when he dueled Nezbitt of the Big Five and "Adamantine Sword Revival" and "Diamond Head Dragon" from when he dueled Valon. Those four cards only exist in the anime.
Do you perhaps mean his DDM-monsters?
"Strike Ninja" and "Orgoth the Relentless" used to be physical game pieces (Figurine and card) in the real-life Dungeon Dice Monsters board-game, before they were printed as Trading cards for the mainstream Duel Monsters game. Now that I´m thinking about it... "Blast Lizard", "Gator Dragon" and all the other DDM-exclusive monsters would also be cool to have not just in DDM but also as cards for Duel Monsters. But alot of DDM´s charme is having those monsters, that don´t exist in mainstream-"Yu-Gi-Oh!"...

Can anyone tell me what his deck actually is? Based off the animie? I know he has lines with ninjas but is his deck spaceships? Like mecha phantom beasts or is it standard warriorsv
At LV40 his deck has two major strategies: The first being 4 Star Machine monsters with the quick play spell Limiter Removal to power them up for a OTK attack. The second (and more long term) strategy is to set up his dice monsters like Snipe Hunter and Orgoth combined with support cards like the continuous trap That’s Six in order to force the rolls he wants for devastating effects.
Overall he’s not quite the pushover that many DM duellists tend to be, but he’s still not a hard challenge even at LV40 due to lacking a powerful Archetype or even busted individual cards (outsides of Limiter Removal anyways).
