The 'useless' buttons at the bottom of the shirts are actually extras! So whenever you lose one, which happens sometimes, you can repair it. If you want, you can cut them out when you buy the shirt and keep them safe somewhere else. Some jeans have an extra button in the label for this reason

Mia you have got to get into machine embroidery. I can see you already embroidering everything you own once you figure it out. I recommend grabbing a husqavarna machine. I would suggest the Topaz 50 as a good starting one. Then get the software called Hatch. You can design all sorts of cute things on there that your machine could run. You would have so many possibilities. For example making something “in-the-hoop” which is something where all the sewing and embroidery is done in the hoop. You can make wallets and bags like this. But you could also embroider cute little strawberries all over a dress. Or design your own thing for every one of your throw pillows!

If you had used colored thread, I think you would have liked the hearts more. Most sweaters, shirts and even skirts, if they have buttons, will have additional buttons. The button(s) will either be in a small plastic bag, sometimes with matching piece of thread or attached to the garment. And don’t forget to remove the loose cross snitch at the bottom back of a jacket, skirt or coat. It’s only there so the flap doesn’t become bent.

Thank you for the giveaway! Over the years I've loved watching your clothing flips and you've gotten me so interested in sewing that I recently started learning to sew by hand! I love it, and have you to thank for this new hobby

I'm absolutely loving that Mia upcycles thifted items or uses thrift store fabric often. I want to see more thift store fashion from Mia! Also, the scallops and embroidery are such an adorable addition to an otherwise plain dress.

For anyone getting hype on sewing and wanting to upcycled clothes I recommend getting a singer heavy duty 4452 second hand. Full metal frame, incredibly simple to understand settings and the power to punch through 8 layers of denim. I got one as an Amazon return and I'm loving mine!

    Helpful tips:
    1. When pining a garment to take it in, put it on a mannequin or yourself inside out. Then you can sew right along (keeping good sides together) without having to unpin everything.
    2. Put a pin horizontally (at right angles) across each end of your button holes when you go to slit them open. This will prevent you from cutting beyond the button hole into your material.
    3. The buttons at the bottom of the shirt (sometimes they are found inside of a jacket, dress, or shirt in the seam allowance) are spares. They are found in good quality clothing.

A sewing machine give-away is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever heard of (on this platform)! I love it how you show the creative, artistic process, the finished works and even make it possible for the viewers to get to do it themselves.
Very inspiring! And I really mean that.

You are inspirational. I have no formal training in sewing. Just my Grandma and I designing Christmas dresses together, to me sewing my own gowns. You can achieve anything with practice and determination! ❤

Thank you so much for this giveaway opportunity!! I never win these things, but this one would really mean so much to me. I have been trying to get into sewing after knitting, but it's so time-consuming & difficult trying to do everything by hand. I've been wanting a sewing machine for so long, but can't even afford a mini one for ~$50. This would truly be such a blessing right now.😭🙏🏻💕👾

TIP: when you are taking something in, you could use chalk to mark it out and then pin it after taking it off, that’s gonna solve the problem of taking it off and pinning it to your T-shirt.

Yay! I love thrift flips. It's been fun watching your sewing skill grow from the time you used to dread pulling out the machine saying you were no good at sewing to where you have grown to be so confident after making your Valentines dress and sewing for 24 hours. Also! Tomorrow is my BIRTHDAY! I'm turning 33. Entered the giveaway. I would love to thrift flip or upcycle items. Thank you for hosting this giveaway and thank you to Singer as well.

I love how the “useless “ buttons were a surprise to you! Lol they often get lost, especially on shirts that have button down collars! So that’s where the manufacturer puts replacements! 🙏🏼🫶 I’m excited for the draw!

Such a cute dress. Scalloped edging really upped the cuteness. I’ve been wanting to some of these in a halter style for years!!! Winning a sewing machine with serging & embroidery options has been a dream of mine ever since I’ve become disabled. My grandma was a seamstress too, so I’m ready to channel my inner grandma since some of my fondest memories were watching her work & helping her clean up afterwards. 🤩🤩🤩

My guess is her original was a plus size women's blouse because of the embroidery along the buttons and the scalloped collar. Super cute idea!

This giveaway is probably the most exciting giveaway you’ve done Mia! I’ve wanted a sewing machine to make my own clothes for so long and the fact that you’re giving 10 people that chance is so amazing! You’re probably one of the most genuinely kind and caring people to have a platform and the way you use it to show love to others is absolutely wonderful!
