GREAT video! The reasons? You are not trying to be a comedian. You don't talk so fast I can't absorb anything. You don't mumble, like one famous reviewer we know. Your hat isn't on backwards. No jive talkin'. No vulgarity or bleeped vulgarity. You don't talk in Cockney. And your videos are surreally beautiful instead of boring. That means no skateboarding and no auto-focus tests on fence posts. Now I really want an XT-4, and I just ordered a GH5 and lens. Thanks for ruining my day!

John thanks for the 18-55 mm inclusion. I cant effort to buy extra XF lens so i shoot only on 18-55 and is incredible for me and keep shooting and shooting on my XT3 body. It can do almost everything an FF has done and in most cases i like the Fuji better. Like you said F Log is so great for me especially shooting direct sun lights and so on and dissecting in post was a great fun( I never use 4K except in landscapes). This kit lens is far far better than all the kit lenses i was threw at. From landscape to family photos and portraits i use only 18-55 mm as i got no other lens(most of the time my Godox AD200 pro solved my probs). The lens and myself we grow on each other(when i actually rent 56 mm f/1.8 i was like "what a slow lens') Now i have to say even IF i am invited to shoot the King and told to bring the lens of my like my 18-55 mm will be sticking with me hahaha. (finally on 15/08/2020 i lay my hand on the X-T4 and don't find a replacement for my X-T3)

John, I'm halfway through this video, but just wanted to say thanks for this and the other videos you've done on the x-t4. I bought an x-t4 a few months ago and haven't even taken a single photo or video on it yet. mostly because i have a canon dslr that I have used for a few years and a ton of glass for the canon that I'm already super familiar with and comfortable using. I also haven't really done much video stuff lately, only photo, and the canon is fine for that. It's 1080P and 8bit with no log, which is why I picked up the fuji for stepping up video work when I have it. Your videos have given me the confidence to start playing with it a bit as I feel I have a much better starting point after watching this video and some of your others. This is what I needed to give me the push to dive into my x-t4! Keep up the great work. Production quality on your vids is amazing and they just have a really great feel/vibe to them that makes them enjoyable to binge watch.

One of the reasons I think the noise looks acceptable on the Fuji is that it keeps the blacks black, and hangs onto its colours. Other cameras start to get very strange artefacting around the colors and they seem to desaturate and change tone. So although you see the 'grain', the image and colours appear stable - just a thought by a noob.

Wow, what a great thorough review! I own this camera and this made me love it even more haha. Question, does your fringer adapter get loose off of your body to the point where you have to reset it often to get the electronics to work? This is my main gripe with using it alongside the 18-35. It's always getting offset. Maybe I just have a bad copy of the adapter?

Well - you just earned yourself a new subscriber. Your work is incredible and you’ve convinced me to keep my X-T4 and not switch to Canon! I’ll hit you with a follow on Instagram - seriously man, your work is amazing and I hope you’re doing well!!!
(also - when you say your Fujifilm LUTs aren’t for Log but rather for a flat profile, what do you mean? what should I be filming in if I wanted to purchase/use your LUTs - I very much just might soon :) thanks!!)

The xt3 really needs the flog view assist. I don’t understand why they are still delaying, it’s a simple function to implement but really helps a lot. It doesn’t make sense to implement the auto focus capabilities if I can not trust on them using the flog.

Just found your channel! Man this review was amazing and really has me thinking. I’m currently trying to get a second camera to use over my canon 6d. The xt4 and the eos r are right in my budget and to be honest the xt4 looks stunning. The only thing holding me back is my beloved Canon 24-70 ii 2.8L. At the same time buying into canon mirrorless is almost like getting into a new system since I’ll have to buy rf lenses which I can’t afford. Maybe a 6d combo with the xt4 will do me good haha

I just sold the XT3 and got the XT4. You just mentioned in your video that you just sold your Atomos Ninja V after getting the XT4.
I’m just about to buy the Ninja V for the XT4. Why would I NOT be in need of it ?!? 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️🧐

@@johnstamw Thats what I’m also trying to figure out 🤔 Do I really need a Ninja V for my xt4 rig ? Or would I be just fine with the Shinobi - which is almost half the price… doing short movie clips and short interviews. Running on Sirui Anamorphic 50mm 1.8 atm & still trying to make a decision between Fuji XF 16-55mm f2.8 or the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ but that’s another story. Help with the monitor please ?!
What’s your take on it ?!?
