I have the Boss BF2, and I know the exact sound you are talking about. There is a feedback trimpot inside of it, you crank it, and then you get that crazy self oscillation
Normally I wouldn't be into flangers, but Earthquaker may have changed my mind. Adding that step sequencer really fascinates me in particular. I honestly never thought you could do those sounds with a flanger. Really opens up possibilities for spacey riffs and hooks. Could easily see groups like Warpaint doing some next level stuff with that. Loved Juan's "kick and snare" example. Would make a great Deltron 3030 intro.
Can anyone pinpoint the bygones song with the sound? I’ve been following the purple box with yellow dots saga for years RIP nicks broken square or rectangle I guess
It's funny but I think of EQD as being one of the few companies whose pedals work equally well on guitar or bass. This is kind of the first one I've seen where their is a distinct difference between the two in the way they interact. But I'm not mad at it, I think it's great that they interact so differently especially with flange as it's such a personal taste kind of effect. Great pedal and great review guys!
Hello! Do you take sound requests? I was wondering if the Pyramids can make a sound some flangers do: but using the mix control maybe it can be usable. I mean a Lot of resonance (the point were it starts to self oscilate). Low rate and medium range.
"Barber Shop Up / Barber Shop Down"... ummm what? haha. Not sure if they are making a joke or if they really think Barber POLE Up and Down are actually called "Barber Shop". Either way nice demo! This pedal looks sick.
After all my gear got ganked I'm rebuilding. So far I got two telecasters, a victory super countess and a red dwarf. The next two pieces of gear I get will be this pedal and the red panda tensor and I'm gonna get super weird with it. Especially after I get some fuzz and a compressor in there and try to be Robert fripp and Adrian belew and fail at that and make my own sound out of that.
The Tensor will be essential to get a Fripp/Tape thing - incredible pedal! One of the best effects I've recently bought. And it can go weird and wild! Be sure to use it with an expression pedal. Actually, these guys do a very decent demo of the box, very thorough - recommended.
Walter Smetak I watched the whole demo of the tensor. Main reason I want it. Lately I've been using a ton of reverb and delay and I've gotten some great cure and a perfect circle tones out of it.
Mate, the Tensor is the ultimate delay pedal! Especially the way you can control the speed with the expression pedal - the effect that came the closest was Montreal Assembly's Ct5 (another demo you should give a shot), but I found the Tensor an improvement over the time control, way better. And the looping in the Tensor, which I also found better and more versatile than the Ct5, is amazing - I have both the Particle & Raster (incredible and very exotic delays in themselves), but, for me, this is the most amazing pedal Red Panda has yet to release!
It’s barber pole flanging, not barber shop flanging. It’s named that because a barber pole has the swirly red and white stripes with no apparent beginning or end kinda the same as the barber pole flanger which doesn’t have a clear beginning or end to the wave form, it just keeps spiraling up or down infinitely.
Respect for a guy who writes a love song to a broken Boss flanger that stopped being broken in just the right way.

David Chamberlain do you know of any samples of that so I can hear what you're talking about?
Yes, I have the BF2 and adjusted it to make it do that. I also have the Pyramids, so, crazy sounds abound.
:)
@@user-yf2lk5gi7q you got any demos of this ???
Nick Reinhardt is a more iconic Squier Venus player than Courtney Love.
He's prettier, too!
THANK YOU
Wheres the lie?

I was never a big flanger guy until the Alexander B-13
Edit: maybe it’s called the f-13 I forget

What was the overdrive/distortion Nick was using when he was showing us his unaffected tone?
Ohhhhh so that was that promo was about

I wonder what the tera Melos song that what written about the flanger is called.
What resonates on the voice sound? (more evident around 4:40)
Do you ensure that you are either both hatted or both sans hat?
the weather might
Not gonna lie the promo for this was pretty hype. And I never really wanted a flanger until EQD did one...
What was that distortion pedal you were using with it
I think it was the Cloven Hoof.
Yep, it was!
Miss Juan and nick
11:35 Some AFX-level sounds there. Definitely the most interesting flanger I've ever seen. (Normally not an effect I vibe on at all...)
Perfect for recording the opening music for Pedals and Effects.
Have you guys ever considered putting these out as a podcast?? I’d subscribe and patreon that my friends.
