Quicker tip for making the perspective 'star' - go to the shapes tool, choose polygon, in the setttings cog, chose Star, indent sides by 99% and then in the top bar give the polygon 100 sides. Then just drag out an enormous star. And it's a shape too so you can make it any size you want (and often you do have to make it many times the size of the canvas). Then I just assign it a photoshop action so I don't have to input those settings again.
Your point is well demonstrated, especially the second comp. Theoretically, there IS a horizon line at work there but you didn't need to plot it out. Perspective is so tricky like that. Thanks for sharing!
@@TylerEdlin84 man i think there is a lot of interest cause there is not much tutorials on the environment sketching or the line drawings, you can make a gumroad series on environment sketching maybe attached with some recommended assignments it would be pretty amazing idea.I am the first one to support you Mr.Tyler
Thank you for sharing!!!! this was so useful (and simple) !!!! I know this is not really the topic of the video but I have a question If you don't mind, Is there any rule to put the 3 point grid with this technic? (like in the 2 point case, where the middle should align to he horizon).
@@TylerEdlin84 I think you have mistaken my question. I was asking how you turned your color panel on the right into that large color wheel/rectangle instead of the default rgb sliders.
Bongo Boi there’s a little dongle you can in the color pallet window that changes the display type. The 3 lines in the upper right side. Choose hue cube

Valeria Libertad Vidal yes if the horizon is low the 3pt should be high and if the horizon is high the 3rd vanishing point should be low
@@TylerEdlin84 You are so kind! Thank you so much for the response!
Very informative, thank you
How did you get the color section to become that large rectangle? I am only able to get the sliders.
if you hit cmd or cntrl then click the layer it on it makes them a selection. you can then delete or fill with a color of your choice/
