easier to add the tape to the foam instead of the tires once you turn tire the back inside it comes apart too easy and the structural integrity is degraded too much. IMO
no glue, use heat gun to melt tape to tire

I just put brand new wheels and tyres on my 6s and blew them in in 10 seconds. Might have to try this.

I like your idea to use less glue by linings, in this way your tire is still flexible at most spots. ( using much glue hardens surface)
