A guide to clickers and other trackside adjustments would be great! For some reason I've got the complicated geometry stuff down, but am a little in the dark with the "if X, then Y" kind of race day changes for flat track.
A baseline guide to set up a framer. Static sag, loaded sag, swingarm angle (loaded/static), best gearing for smooth power transfer( big front and big rear or small front and small rear)?
Welcome to South Carolina! Any experience with putting rain tires (17") on properly set up Supermoto bike like they run over in Europe and the Superprestigio? I would think Supermoto / Roadrace suspension would be pretty close to a Flat track set up with the exception that SM bike only lowered 2-3" ?? I'm sure the 19's work better, but would be a quicker / cheaper way to give FT a try.
Wow, bringing in the big guns on the show! Nice 👍 Also, watched the entire video waiting for a comment regarding Davey’s shirt……..nothing 🤷🏼♂️😆. Hope all is well! Happy Holidays!
I would be interested in some Numbers, like what Offset works for the 19inch wheels. For example, I ride a lowered Honda XR with about half the suspension travel. So if you add the offset of the triple clamps and add the added Offset caused by the leading axle forks, I have a combined offset of about 50mm, but I see guys putting the popular R6 forks in the stock clamps and and end up with about 25mm of offset? Seems to work also, so what do you think?
@@skycaptain224 the change in offset mostly exists to facilitate setting trail, and to a lesser extent wheelbase and weight bias. As a general rule of thumb, most flat track bikes shoot for around 100mm (4"ish) of trail. Less and the bike will turn in quicker, but the front will feel light and twitchy (short tracking and doing front skids!). More and the bike will feel stiffer, harder to turn in but more directionally stable (longer tracks, especially big cussion tracks). There are calculators online that will allow you to enter total wheel diameter, fork length, rake, lug offset and triple clamp offset. It will spit out a trail number and you can dick around with the variables until it gives you the right trail number and then order the proper parts.
Davey's the GOAT of Pikes Peak!!!!!
He is "hands down" the best in the business!

Davey Durelle is THE MAN!
Squat and anti squat how it effects traction

Great stuff-invaluable! Thanks

Is there an optimum rake angle? When would you use Adjustable offsets for more or less trail?

Check out Part 1 of this series w/Davey. The comments have an explanation. I was not involved, but love it!
Great video
Best bang for your buck for a vintage small displacement vintage framer if you don’t have the money for Cerianis or Works?

Any indoor short track races in the Carolinas? GA or VA
Not that I'm aware of. Check a page on Facebook called Flat Track Race Page
