it kind of is already documented. these are just some more of what we have already available. I'm not knocking anyone for their decisions in fact its great that were talking about this stuff and I wrestle with the impact of everything I do too. lets not forget the impact of our storage that's sits on energy hungry servers storing everybody's stuff in the badly named "cloud" seems to be the biggest worry. whether we take trips like this or not we are all contributing data to this poorly thought out storage solution.
Absolutely awesome video, regarding some people being critical of you for making the trip due to your carbon footprint and the environment etc. On the flip side, thanks to photographers, videographers and vloggers like yourself we get to see the delicate balance of nature and how we should do more to protect it. There’s a lot worse environmentally, that’s causing rising sea temperatures, climate change etc. I see a video like this as educational (as well as the awesome photography) so well done for highlighting and responding to criticism in such an informative and sensible way Adam 👏
Of all the people who would travel to sensitive ecosystems, I think you’d be among one of the most respectful. You have done such great work showing us Fairy Creek, you’re the man for this job! Thank you for showing us the beauty most of us will never get the chance to see.
I agree with your sentiments entirely. If man does not change his ways soon we stand to lose such a great and important part of our planet. Thankyou for sharing this adventure workshop with us. Your images have really captured the beauty and serenity of this pristine harsh and unforgiving location. 🙂
It looks like it was quite the enviable adventure gentlemen and you’ve both captured some NatGeo-worthy photos - truly exquisite! It gives one a sense of what it must have been like to discover that incredible part of the world!
I, for one, am glad you had the opportunity to go and bring us these wonderful stories and images from Antarctica. Remember, too, Adam, that it is often the case that those who complain the loudest about what others do don't do anything but complain.
I fully respect and support your views regarding your trip to Antarctica. People like you, showing the beauty of the natural world for all to see, are also helping to protect it from exploitation. I also enjoyed that you displayed some B&W images in the video. The contrast of dark clouds and the light on the landscape was excellent. Cheers!
One of the first ways to care for the environment is to connect to it. You help many do that. Antarctica is so special and fragile and important to the planet.
Petermann Island shots were sublime, I love the fact you post raw files first with settings and then the edited versions ...great video Adam Many Thanks.
Thank you for sharing these magnificent views with us. We gain appreciation for nature through the eyes of those who travel to these locations and document nature's magical landscapes!
I love you show us the raw files and the final images. I also love your comments about travel to Antarctica. I was there two years ago right before Covid exploded. It was such an amazing experience. And Peterman Island was one of my favorite landings. Thanks!
Beautiful images, I really appreciate how you show the RAW image with sufficient time to also review the camera settings and then show your edited image 👍
Finally getting to my backlogged RUclips videos. I don’t know if it’s the video itself or the obscenely large TV I’m watching it on right now, but wow! What beauty! As far as I’m concerned there’s no one better to show the beauty of any location in this world. Your iceberg shots are so ethereal, as were the wider shots of the bay. Everyone should see these. The more that great photographers like yourself not only document the ecosystems, but do it in an artful way, the more people can see why we need to protect what we have left. You’re the new David Attenborough 👏😉 Thanks for always taking us along on your journeys. Don’t listen to the few trolls. Most of that is just jealousy. Your work is appreciated by the majority. 🤗
Absolutely fantastic vlog and images with a message. Fully agree with your views about people’s disconnect with nature. I also notice that landscape and wildlife photogtaphers are probably the most respectful among nature enthusiasts that I’ve seen where they try to capture and leave the same place the way they found it.
One of the best videos you have produced with stunning images, smooth transitions and delightful music. Congrats, what a great journey this must have been. Best wishes.
So true about the massive disconnect with nature! I would die to be able to visit Antarctica but unfortunately will never be able to afford it. So I live vicariously through videos & photos. Beautiful work.
Absolutely beautiful! God gave us this beautiful nature to enjoy but by experiencing it becoming aware how much more careful to be so it can still be there for others to enjoy.
I love the pre and post processing of the photos. The dark skies in the background are lovely. Thanks for taking all of us there and sharing the beauty. The world needs to be aware of the wonderful wildlife and stark landscapes of the Antarctic. I believe that the only hope for preserving the world right now hinges on building appreciation of various environments. Good work Adam.....
Once again a beautiful video. You really capture the essence of the place. I love the transitions from raw to final images. It inspires and encourages me in my own photography.
Went there myself in 2016 and it was the trip of a lifetime! Very different as we were on a smallish vessel with just under 100 passangers and sailed from Ushuaia - but the impressions and route in Antarctica was much the same. I also went kanoing - like moving in a cocktailglass because of the noise of the ice. I love to be taken back and your photos do some justice to this magnificent landscape. We had a much more casual approach and much less "luxury" on the boat but I preferred it that way - everyone to his taste. Woderful experience and wonderful images...
Interesting take on the carbon footprint ethics of this trip. My experience on this trip really had a profound effect on my concerns for the environment that really has reinvigorated my desire to be even more responsible about my carbon footprint. The huge blubber storage tanks at deception island were such a wake up call. The pristine nature of the environment is so special.
Again, masterful Adam!! How could we all fully appreciate what we have -- and are losing -- in places like Antarctica without artists like you clearly showing us through your work?
Absolutely beautiful. And absolutely agree with your thought. Human is just too disconnect to the natures. When people have no connection, they don't care, they don't act. How sad it is.
Loved the photos especially the one with the hut and the 2 penguins in the foreground. I wanted to let you know that I went to Arizona for a week (first trip since the pandemic) and had time to kill each night while I sat alone in the airbnbs - I binge watched (again) many of yours and Gavins episodes to kill time in an enjoyable way. It reminded me of your F4 road trip series (bought the entire package) that I loved so much. Just want to say thanks for making my trip that much more enjoyable.
Thanks for the great footage. I wonder if those people worried about your carbon footprint are as worried about their own. Unless they don't use any electricity, water, heat, cars, etc, they should shut it. Thanks for bringing awareness to such an amazing area.
Beautiful images, thanks for sharing! Ethical travel: The answer is not to eliminate travel because of its impact, rather it is to make travel better. Too often that naysayer crowd will try to reframe their inability to travel as a heroic "choice" not to do so. It's easy to condemn something like travel if you have no interest in it or don't have the means to participate. I personally cannot afford to go to Antarctica right now (or ever), but I won't lie about it and pretend that I don't go because of superior morals.
I,too, agree with your thoughts on the environment. Many complain but never stop to look at our incredible planet and all it’s splendour! Stunning photos Adam!
Everyone has an opinion, but photographers have the environment in mind with everything they do when they are out in it. Deb Lashbrook on here said it well. Not a lot of people are able to make a trip to Antarctica, so I appreciate you showing us your wonderful photos. Again, thanks Adam.
Some wonderful images, Adam. Love the bit where you and Alan get photo bombed by a penguin. I think you raised some very valid thoughts about our disconnection from nature and one could question the carbon footprint of Sir David Attenborough, but his contribution to conserving nature through his work is immense. I like the way your video and photos use the human element to tell a story, as you said, of a darker history, but also of the beauty of nature.👍👍👍
I disagree with the. Statement that “Everything we do has a negative impact…..” I think your work has a significant and lasting positive impact on your followers, and anyone that has the opportunity to see and enjoy one of your photographs. Well, and respectfully done Adam!
how can you disagree with the assertion that humans by nature have a negative impact on earth, both in terms of individual and collective terms. We as individuals can off set that impact ------ but come on humans are not great for earth.
Man I feel cold just watching the wind whip across the water in the opening video! And wow, I'm still so stunned by how beautiful the scenery is on this trip. Love the penguins just casually strolling around too at 3:15. Haha. You should've interviewed them! Amazing images.
Great photos Adam, my uncle spent 2.5 years down in Antarctica back in 1946/47 with the British Antarctic Survey. He was the doctor in the team and has a glacier that he surveyed named after him. Apparently it still exists but is melting fast. Enjoy.
I have noticed a certain characteristic in many of the people I've run into that have shown themselves to be ignorant and closed minded. They spend very little time, if any, traveling away from their immediate neighborhoods and have denied themselves the beauty of the world, AND ITS CULTURAL DIVERSITIES. The more I travel, the more I appreciate the world and the many different cultures in it. Beautiful images, Adam.
Great photos as always. I'll never be able to get to Antarctica, but I'm so please that some fantastic photographers and videographers are able to go and show us all just how beautiful it is! Thanks!!
Well said regarding connection to nature Adam. The disconnect is tremendous here in Australia where we have some of the world's most special forests but very few travelling even to their outskirts such as the takayna Tarkine. Those that do soon have a changed appreciation of the value of natural places.
I watched James video and I watched Nigel's as well. Both of them took some fantastic photos. Nigel's two meter pano was especially impressive. However, once again you've shown why you're my favorite. The iceberg photos just have an atmosphere about them that goes beyond simple landscape photography. Even on RUclips they have a look and feel that exudes the cold, desolate beauty of Antarctica.
Thank you for sharing Adam. Yes there might always be a negative impact, but on the other side, you also create a positive impact by sharing it with us.
Thanks for going and sharing for free. I hope the negative feelings that some people had towards your trip did not bother you too much. I probably would have deleted them and not responded. But your reply was well thought out and spoken. I encourage you to keep up your brand of environmentalism. It is much more palatable and effective than some of the radicals out there selling their brand of negativity.
Hi Adam, Great Adventure and wonderful pictures! Yes, I totally agree with your thoughts about preserving nature and wilderness, as professional photographers we must document the actual situation, fur any further reference, as an historical archive, as a real image of nature is. And for sure we cannot do it sitting on a couch, pointing fingers to people who invest their lives for nature. Well said Adam, no justify is required ;-) ciao!
Thank you for your comments on the environment. I agree whole heatedly with the statement about the disconnect with many people to our environment. Great images!
It’s so much easier to be judgmental of others (who we can’t control) than to look at ourselves with a view to getting comfortable with who we are and our responsibilities to those around us and our world.
Totally agree on your reasons for being there. The disconnect from nature makes people care less about the importance of the beauty around us and how important it is to save what we can. Imagine the images you take one day not being there? Its amazing to see such majestic locations and is easily more stunning than large cities.
This is one of those videos where I have to break up my comments by section: 0:45 - I know it's Antarctic summer, but the guy in shorts and a tee shirt is just showing off. 3:15 - Gentoo penguin: "These photographers keep getting in the way of my trek back to the roost. I don't think they understand penguins' needs. We need to do something about that." 6:30 - the lowland snow on Petermann Island is very pink. I presume that's from penguin guano? In which case, ... PHEW 9:30 - I agree with your point that, as an environmental advocate and photographer, you do a great service by documenting the beauty and preciousness of a threatened land for the world to see in awe and wonder. Summary: awesome images from what must have been a wonderful trip. I admit, I hate the cold; but it looks like that time of year, the temperature is a little above freezing so maybe I should consider a workshop before I get too old. Will you do this again next year?
Absolutely agree with your sentiment on being there. If it isn't documented then as the song goes, you don't know what you've got till it's gone.

Adam I love how you are showing us the raw image and then the finished product. I am enjoying seeing your work from Antarctica. Quite stunning.
Awesome video Adam again. I wish I went to the Whale bones but as usual as was chasing Penguins....
Haha next time Nigel, next time….
I agree with your sentiments entirely. If man does not change his ways soon we stand to lose such a great and important part of our planet. Thankyou for sharing this adventure workshop with us.
Your images have really captured the beauty and serenity of this pristine harsh and unforgiving location. 🙂
So beautiful and peaceful - wonderful images - particularly the icebergs against that stormy sky. Thanks
There’s nothing like seeing all the shots you missed..! Great work Adam 😃
Thanks, James! appreciate that, works both ways. It was exciting to see your selection as well.
It looks like it was quite the enviable adventure gentlemen and you’ve both captured some NatGeo-worthy photos - truly exquisite! It gives one a sense of what it must have been like to discover that incredible part of the world!
Imagine how mads feels

3:10 that is awesome, not everyday a penguin just wanders through the background. Great images, love the b&w.
Amazing landscape! I agree with you about the importance of showing people what we risk losing.
Your comments around ten minutes are so pure. Could not agree more.
Thank you for sharing these magnificent views with us. We gain appreciation for nature through the eyes of those who travel to these locations and document nature's magical landscapes!

Stunning - and as for the carbon footprint, the awareness to the fragile beauty youve shown far out ways that.
Finally getting to my backlogged RUclips videos.

absolutely beautiful pics Adam, You are an artist - glad you got to go on your trip

5:32 and 9:04 just perfect ! in my mind , this is your best video ever ! been also following Allyn for a while , great guy too !
Adam had to go all the way to Antarctica to get away from Gavin 🤣🤣🤣
Lovely video Adam 👍.

WOW…what an awesome environment to showcase your talent.
WOW... that is one 'chilly' opening sequence... such gorgeous landscapes, but I also loved your intimate landscapes too...
Beautiful images, thanks for sharing!

Hi Adam, agree with you 100% on the subject of disconnect and out of sight out of mind.
Wonderful Video and stills. Thanks for sharing, Hans

Stunning scenery buddy and I thought you done a great job showing it off!

Fantastic Adam - Wow! Thank you so much for bringing us along. Well done Adam. :o)
Stunning location and photographs, thanks for sharing. 😍🙏
Superb images and you certainly dont need to justify travelling to such an area either!
Excellent. And your restraint in processing your RAW files is, as always, noted and appreciated.
Fantastic!! Really enjoyed watching this!
Great photos Adam, my uncle spent 2.5 years down in Antarctica back in 1946/47 with the British Antarctic Survey. He was the doctor in the team and has a glacier that he surveyed named after him. Apparently it still exists but is melting fast. Enjoy.
Superb production, interesting and thought provoking content and lovely imagery - particularly the minimalist abstracts
Many thanks!

Carbon footprint arguments! Thanks for the laugh. Great, great, great, GREAT, video! I love your work.

Stunning captures Adams …your use of the light was phenomenal, loved it.
Stunning images, Adam. 👌👌👌
Thank you for your comments on the environment. I agree whole heatedly with the statement about the disconnect with many people to our environment. Great images!
Incredible shots, Adam!
Bravo Adam! What amazing photography.Thank you for taking us with you on this epic trip to Antarctica 💙
Wooo so amazing and beautiful ❤️💕💕
It’s so much easier to be judgmental of others (who we can’t control) than to look at ourselves with a view to getting comfortable with who we are and our responsibilities to those around us and our world.
Absolutely stunning results, Adam; the way you manage to capture the light in its scene and sphere of influence... very idyllic and soo inspiring
Great series. I have fond memories of our trip.
Thanks for sharing!!
Breathtaking!

Great vlog & photos Adam. We used to stay at Petermann Island & used that hut as our "holiday chalet" when I worked at the nearby base.
Its fantastic to follow along on this adventure with you Adam, you certainly captured the light on this trip, gorgeous shots and video mate ..

Awesome and Perfect frame
Your point about why we have so many environmental problems--RIGHT ON!
Great Video Adam, thanks for sharing this with us.
My pleasure!
Stunning images!
Stunning! 🐧👍🥂
lovely photos and nicely narrated too, it's good to record these locations while they are still as they are, well put Adam
Great video as always!! Look forward to the next one 🤗
Well said Adam totally agree with you on the question on the world we live in
stunning photos, loved the iceburg pictures, great vlog as usual Adam
