Agreed. A number of people I've shown now have asked if the photos were taken under water. Kinda crazy eh. The ice does roll around a lot... so at some point it was probably under water.
Hello Greg, another wonderful journey for you and us All. Beautiful abstract captures….that blue has so many depths to it and looks so cool by seeing just pieces in pictures. Love your interview with Rachel and taking us through the ship also. Thank you for another adventure that you do so well capturing for us us to watch. Take Care and have a Super Week. Cheers from us All in the Bay.👍👍
I have come to really look forward your videos each week and living vicariously through your adventures…just the right balance of dialogue, information and stunning images. Thank you. I have done a couple of workshops with Rachael here in the Uk and I agree, she is a legend and a very nice person to boot! Can’t wait for next week’s instalment. Thank you.
Natural abstractions are cool! I use that concept a lot in woodland photography, and recently when shooting cascades. Converting such images to black and white can sometimes accentuate that feeling. Most of your iceberg images are virtually abstract anyway (shades of blue). Try some B&W versions, pump up the contrast and luminance a little, and see what you get! EDIT: Polar plunge??? HAYYYILLL NO
Thank you for the video! Great show and great pictures. Thanks also for the looks at the other photographs, I will see their work on the sites. Have a good time and thanks !!
So many great abstract photos, Greg! Though one looked like a hand giving me the finger 😅 I love that you featured Rachael in the vid. She's an amazing photographer and there's so much to learn from her.
I have Rachel's book "tides and tempests", a wonderful piece of work ! Every time you try something new Greg, you do a fantastic job, this is really nerve-racking ! :D
Those are some spectacular photos! It is great to see that you are able to get such awesome views of the coast, the icebergs, and even some of the penguins from the water!
Some absolutely beautiful images Greg, the light looks incredible in some of them 👌 thanks for transporting us down there with you, something that most of us will never experience but wish that we could 👍

Very nice pictures, thanks a lot! I love your abstract images. My fav are the one that looks like a water drop and the wave one too.
Excellent. Never thought I'd hear "Absolutely covered in penguin sh%t" and "Looks absolutely incredible" in the same sentence, nicely done! I love the penguin conclave image @ 13:38. The berg-surfing penguin @ 14:08 is awesome too. Good shot of the fluke. I do like the abstracts. I was in Maui a couple weeks ago and got what I thought was an awesome jumping shot of a humpback almost fully out of the water only to find it was out of focus. You did much better. Stay warm.
Greg you know Ive followed your work for a good number of years now and you have knocked it out the park countless times and this one was another home run. What a collection of images, that one with the whale fin with the iceberg backdrop was pure class. What a great episode
Hey Greg! What an amazing adventure. I've just watched all your videos about the Antartida trip. It is priceless. I really love all your content and how you describe it...The effort that you put in is huge. Congratulations on your pictures and videos. Thanks for sharing with us. Cheers!
It is totally unfair to ask which was the favorite.... That is an impressive series of photos, IMHO you got the abstract bug! I did enjoy the chinstrap surfing down the side of the iceburg and the shot that looked like a curling wave. Well done sir! I would dare to say my favorite of the series (so far)
You slipped right into the abstract world as easily as a penguin coming down an iceberg! What a fantastic and productive day of amazing images that can be looked at again and again. But polar plunge? Insane!!
I was on the boat with you on the first zodiac excursion that day and in hindsight I really wonder how you’ve managed to take so many images and document everything in such a beautiful fashion. I was overwhelmed with the seals and the icebergs and all the wonderful patterns and couldn’t have filmed one bit. You’ve made it look like it was no effort at all back there. 😅 Great stuff. 🙂👍🏼
Hi mate, tough conditions to be shooting / filming in but stunning locations, and you have certainly come away with a body of work that is certainly portfolio worthy but more importantly the memories and i am sure friendships made, what a trip im not typing this looking like the green eyed monster at all . Great vlog take care !
Lee!! Kind words sir thank you. Yes tough conditions for filming. Especially with a new camera system. This Vlog came together well though and I'm happy with the images. You would love Antarctica for sure 👍🙂🤘
You did well with the details/abstracts, not just quality but quantity of quality images. I wasn't terribly happy with most of mine, but seeing what you came up with is inspiring me to take a closer look, and of course motivating me to do better in the future.
Hi Greg, great video and images along with some great hint/tips! We have booked to go in Jan 2025 and was wondering what’s your view of using a chest harness to carry two cameras on the zodiacs and landings? Cheers 👍
This is my 550th upload to RUclips!! That's crazy.
Congratulations. Love the abstracts you captured, the colours are amazing. Love the wildlife too of course.
*Word from our Sponsor* Join us in Patagonia!! April 19th - 30th, 2023 - Details in the description.
Great abstract! Dreamy, I thought. Looked almost like an underwater world.
Agreed. A number of people I've shown now have asked if the photos were taken under water. Kinda crazy eh. The ice does roll around a lot... so at some point it was probably under water.
Amazing. I'm amazed at the photos you made.

Think you nailed the abstracts Greg .................. great video of that great cruise
2:17 Wow, I really love the cracks in the ice here, and the whale fin at 11:45 is really stunning!
Greg your abstracts of the ice and penguin poop rock are spot on. The many shades of blues in the ice shots are spectacular.
Everything about today’s video was fantastic! Thanks for taking me along!
Thank you for sharing - Stay safe
Another beautiful day in-between the icebergs!! Those abstract shots from the ice look amazing, well done!!

Beautiful Abstracts. I am an absolute sucker for abstracts. :)
Such beautiful scenery! Love all of it!😍❤😍
Greg, great video, and some fantastic images. Perhaps the best ones since the staircases in Germany. Looking forward to the next video.
The blues and teals are so vibrant. Great stuff. The image at 14:26 was really something but so were many of the others.
Wow I like the abstract images
