I had to wait to watch this series until i had a solid plan for my own next journey. The fear of "Fernweh" was just to strong. And what a wonderful journey you have done. Now knowing my own destination for 2023, i can´t wait to see the rest of your Antarctica series. Very good start.
Come on Greg, scenic flight, I think you were really looking for UFOs 👍😎 That clip near the end with the Penguin and the tour boat passing in the background was sweet👍🐧
Greg it was great meeting you on the trip, I still cannot believe I forgot your name when we meet at the Hotel 🤐Looking forward to see the rest of your Vlogs
Great video, Greg! Yes, Simon must have felt like a duck out of water in that landscape. Also spotted Courtney in a couple of your shots. Funny, I just watched her video a few hours ago.
Lovely footage Greg. Have seen Courtney's first video so looking forward to your series. I think you had a flight in a Piper rather than a Cessna - great images either way!
Ushuaia is so beautiful. We stopped there on our voyage back from Antártica in January 2023. The topography of the area is amazing. Looking forward to the rest of your videos.
Great video to start your trip. Lovely scenery - ground and air - and fun travel details that make us feel like we are right there with you. How fun to see Simon in the mix!
We loved Ushuaia. Did the 3 week trip to Falklands/Malvinas, South Georgia and Antarctic on the Academic Ioffe (same size as your boat) Awesome trip and experience.
It's so cool that you got to reunite with Carlos on the boat! Those views of Ushuaia from the airplane were so cool! I can't wait to see what you did in Antarctica!
Super video, that's so cool you got up in the plane, the views were amazing! Super looking forward to the rest of the video. And of course there is an Irish pub down there, there is no escaping us 🤣
Good one Greg, looking forward to the rest of the series ...it'll be like I was there ...Heck I was ;-) !! whats your next thing now you are back in Germany ?
Man - cheesy "70's"-style music or what?... but those images have me salivating! Looking forward the rest of the vlogs. (I think you made a great choice with the a74.)
I doubt that. Something tells me you could probably do it. You might have to get a camera though. Our FROLF video camera might not cut it. Would be quite funny though. We could bring Alex too. & Laura!!
Greg, I've an apology to make as I've nicked your opening line on my other channel. However when I say it, it doesn't seem quite so good lol. Best of luck in Antartica.
@@gregorsnell Oh yes it does, very much so. You should visit one day, ask Brendan, he likes the place. As for me, Cornwall is my adopted home so can't give you a definitive answer.
As a pilot, I can’t help but correct the the obvious which I’m sure others have. That was a Piper but a Cessna would have been ideal with high wings. The images you got with the wing obstruction was pretty bloody awesome anyway Greg. 🫶
Amazing!! I’m looking forward to watching the next videos 🙏🏻
Obrigado cara!!
Tamo junto cara! 👍🏻👊🏻😂
5:05 - I love the people walking by waving to you in the background lol
Fantastic video, Greg. Looks like such an awesome adventure and time.
Looking forward to the videos, nice to see Simon there as well!
Love it! And your jacket looks GREAT on you! Thanks for this nice intro video to Ushuaia and to us, appreciate it

Excellent. I will be there in late November. Can't wait. Reminds me a bit of Baffin Island.
Awesome adventure Greg.Enjoy be safe out there.
If that footage at the end is a taster for next time, the following episodes will be amazing !! You're one lucky guy 😁
Amazing timelapse.
Nice teaser ! Looking forward to watching the next videos.
What an awesome Adventure.👍👍
Nice to see @charlymauer there. He was with you and Nellie in Bali as well. Simon will have trouble finding a tree in Antarctica, eh? Good stuff!
Awesome, can’t wait to see this adventure
Awesome stuff. One day I'll make it there. Can't wait for the next one.
One day indeed. Maybe with us in 2024/25...?
A bit bummed that Simon didn't bring Meg along! Really looking forward to this series Greg!
Come on Greg, scenic flight, I think you were really looking for UFOs 👍😎 That clip near the end with the Penguin and the tour boat passing in the background was sweet👍🐧
So Awsome
Pretty cool start, Greg! And there’s Ryan 😁
Ryan is awesome!

Another great video Greg.
Cheers Paul 🙏
Great video, Greg! Yes, Simon must have felt like a duck out of water in that landscape. Also spotted Courtney in a couple of your shots. Funny, I just watched her video a few hours ago.
Excited to see your footage from the trip, Greg. I’ve already decided that I want to return but shoot videos…that’s a few years in the future though!
Carlos. YOUR HAIR MAN!
Great introduction to the trip Greg, nice to see the actual build-up with the details, brings the hole process alive. Looking forward to the series...
That timelapse at the end is amazing ❤️
❄️❄️❄️
Ahh, that shot leaving Ushuaia behind and watching it get smaller and smaller - I can only imagine the excitement!!! ✨🇦🇶😊
That ship looks amazing actually. I love the old school look, and all the brass accents. Amazing man.
It looks like something out of a Wes Anderson movie. Murder on the Island Sky...
@@gregorsnell I agree completely, incredible to see it still around and looking beautiful.
Lovely footage Greg. Have seen Courtney's first video so looking forward to your series. I think you had a flight in a Piper rather than a Cessna - great images either way!
Awesome! I'll check out her video today. Yes you're right the plane was a Piper 👍
great video. The little Cessna is actually a Piper😅
True!! Good eye and thanks for the info.
Ushuaia is so beautiful. We stopped there on our voyage back from Antártica in January 2023. The topography of the area is amazing. Looking forward to the rest of your videos.
Wonderful video Greg. You’ve captured the excitement of starting out. Looking forward to seeing more memories from your point of view.
Tom
Another great vlog. Looking forward to the whole series. As has been mentioned - the timelapse at the end was super.
Had to let that one run out. Such a great scene.
WOW what an adventure this is going to be, great start, hope the weather remains kind Greg 🤞
Oh man. Now I want to return immediately. 😂 Really nice video. Can’t wait to see the rest of the series. 🙂
Looks amazing!
Great video to start your trip. Lovely scenery - ground and air - and fun travel details that make us feel like we are right there with you. How fun to see Simon in the mix!
Juanita!! Glad you enjoyed it :)
All looks very cool (excuse the pun) 🙂 looking forward to the next videos.
How did Simon cope without photographing any trees?
Lol. He coped pretty well tbh.
Yes, the Antarctica series has started!! Think it will be a challenge for Simon, to find some good woodland shots on this trip🙃
Hahahaha, true!!
I hope he can find that ancient city found by ....CHILE EXPLORERS the one the pentagon took over from them
Great start to the series, can’t wait for next episode!
Great stuff ! Looking forward to seeing more 👏👏
The aerial photos are so great it's not even fair!!! It's also nice to see you becoming roommates with Simon. I hope he did some vlogs as well.
So jealous!
We loved Ushuaia. Did the 3 week trip to Falklands/Malvinas, South Georgia and Antarctic on the Academic Ioffe (same size as your boat) Awesome trip and experience.
Wow that's amazing!! With which operator?
@@gregorsnell Peregrine, but I think they were bought out by Quark. Was great anyway. Canadian film makers John and Janet Foster were on the trip too.
It's so cool that you got to reunite with Carlos on the boat! Those views of Ushuaia from the airplane were so cool! I can't wait to see what you did in Antarctica!
Gratz Greg on getting this out so soon after the trip.
Cheers Brian. In my mind it's a week late 😂
Very impressing moments and high class footage. I am looking forward for more! ✌🏼
Danke dir Jan-T !!
Super video, that's so cool you got up in the plane, the views were amazing! Super looking forward to the rest of the video. And of course there is an Irish pub down there, there is no escaping us 🤣
First Irish Pub at the End of the World.
Good one Greg, looking forward to the rest of the series ...it'll be like I was there ...Heck I was ;-) !! whats your next thing now you are back in Germany ?
Niiice!! I am doing some freelance work with a few long term clients till early April, then back to Argentina to help lead a Patagonia Workshop.
Quite a surprise to see Simon Baxter there Greg. No woodland in Antartica AFAIK .
Yeah Simon really tested his boundaries on this one. He was happy about it though. Everyday was a new adventure.
damn dude, now i'll have to go up in the air, those are some pretty good views up there.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 so many cornudos
Man - cheesy "70's"-style music or what?... but those images have me salivating! Looking forward the rest of the vlogs. (I think you made a great choice with the a74.)
Good video!
I know Nate and some of the other crew from BC Canada
No way!! Nice. Stay tuned then for the next video this Sunday. Nate makes an appearance talking on Cuverville Island 🤘🏝️🇨🇦🍁
@@gregorsnell awesome! Thanks for the heads up. I’m subscribed!
Dude, I wanna come next time. Might have to sell my car or my wife to finance it. Awesome pics!

Hahahaha, no worries. I'm sure it still sounds awesome, especially in a Cornish accent. Does that exist?
@@gregorsnell Oh yes it does, very much so. You should visit one day, ask Brendan, he likes the place. As for me, Cornwall is my adopted home so can't give you a definitive answer.
So excited to see the adventure unfold! I especially enjoyed the details of Ushuaia and the excitement in your voice as you prepared to shove off.
Plz look 👀 for what’s going on there ! The best you can
How flash is that ship 😄
Straight outta a Wes Anderson flick.
@@gregorsnell 😂😂👌
Visit thst ancient city found overthere by CHILE EXPLORERS... if ...US let you so

Was super to meet you on Island Sky.
Looking forward to watching the full Antarctica series.
