CMC Vellore MBBS seats should be made as 200. 50 seats should be for Tamilnadu Christians 40 seats for Christian Candidates sponsored by dioces 10 seats for CMC Vellore Staff Children 50 seats for SC/ST/BC/OC students of Tamilnadu 50 for SC/ST/BC/OC/CAP students of other states

They told me updating and same things when we called then yesterday and in the evening I got a heartbreaking message that the minority category I applied for has no more seats bcuz of this 70% thing they had to remove it. After waiting for nine months already and checking up on tamil nadu notifications for so long everyday, this is such terrible news.

It looks CMC Vellore is not transparent about the break up of the 30% seats. That will build up the anxiety of the students. They should have by now displayed the break up of the 30 seats. I feel it is fair enough to exclude the students from Tamilnadu in this 30 seats as they have already got 70 seats.
Yes, they should publish the seat matrix to avoid confusion. I don't think it is fair to exclude TN diocese. Why should they be excluded? Should we eliminate other state candidates from CMC Vellore because they may have some eligibility in their own states? Let us leave it to CMC to decide which diocese will get seats this year. It should be mutually agreed by CMC and the diocese.

They can apply for the normal TN govt. seats of other colleges of the state as well as the 70 % seats of CMC Vellore and then again 30 % seats if allowed by the college which is unfair. For the christians of rest of the country where there are no Christian colleges in their state , in addition to applying to the govt. seats of their own state, they can only compete for this 30% seats for that small tuition fee.

No one has indicated to the Judge that there were open category seats. TN government just focused on the Christian minority seats for TN candidates. CMC Vellore just focused on the seats for their diocese candidates.

The judge would have had all the details about how the seats were allotted in the previous years and hence this open category also would have been brought to his notice. Judge in his wisdom has given an interim verdict without giving any seat to the the open category. Might be all these issues would be sorted out in the final verdict. One possible solution is to increase the seat to 150 seats and make the college a christian minority college with deemed university status so that all the seats are allotted on an all India basis from Delhi by MCC. In that case some seats could be set apart for the open category.

But, if you follow the court proceedings, there was a specific discussion on CMC Vellore staff quota. It was highlighted before the verdict was given. But, no one raised the open seats and sought clarification on that. That's what I am saying. Yes, increasing seats and changing the status could avoid some of the issues. Any way, let us see how the final verdict comes out
Each diocese may get only one or two seats. So, it depends on the candidates above you in the rank. If they are not interested, you may get a chance. But, it might be very difficult.
