You're gonna be REAL bummed when I say you can get the other 2 Johto starters by doing Mt. Battle 2 more times. It took me 5 hours just for me to do it once. At least I saw shadow Lugia with the earth ribbon.
Gale of Darkness is hard because when I battle Mirror B it takes me forever cause I get in a trance listening to his theme and I start doing the Ludicolo dance

I loved this game when I was young. I remember the Munchlax and Bonsly at the pokéspots, I tried desperately to get them. It was interesting seeing them before gen 4 was a thing

Walrein, Nuzleaf and Jumpluff were my aces on my first run of Gale of Darkness. Jumpluff has been my favorite Pokemon ever since.
This and its predecessor were such good games.

It’s crazy how great these “spin off” regional games really were and what great stories they told
Colosseum and XD are great for using really great outside the box pokemon teams, and if you have a favorite that you just can't leave off your team, there's usually a way to get them in too (unless it's gen 4 or later lmao)

One suggestion would be to add counters for the main collectibles like shadow mons or Battle CDs since you have a lot of unused black space on the right side that could be filled. It would make it easier for your viewers to follow along and see what is missing.

Technically for a truuuue 100%, wouldn't you have to get all 3 johto starters from mount battle? Have to do the 100 battles straight without changing the team or leaving, and you get to pick one of the three at the top.
Total of threee times for all 3.
That and catching all the pokespot pokemon.
I mean, sure yeah but just completing Mt. battle itself was all that was needed. If I ever do a catch ‘‘em all 100% of Coli/XD I’ll have to get all the pokes and evolve them etc etc

I played this a few years ago for the first time and I really enjoyed it. I wanted to 100% it but I had other things to do on my Pokémon checklist. I was getting every Pokémon possible in each game version and doing a living regional dex for each game so it had to wait. Maybe when I revisit Gen 3 and do the Emerald Battle Frontier I'll get back to this.

It has a good natural challenge to it and tracking the 100% isn’t too bad either!

@@Cyndoughquil When I played recently, I refused to leave Phenac just to see if the lady would get pissed off. NOPE. Also: no special dialogue for never evolving Eevee, although on one of the battle CDs, a Flareon had the "from Micheal's dad" note on the summary. Weird.

What about finishing up the other rounds of the Orre Colosseum? It’s pretty tricky given they’re essentially running perfect IV/EV mons…
Yeah it’s really tough, for the 100% check it’s not needed as you just gotta “beat” Orre luckily
I’m sad because my physical copy of XD somehow got glitched and the purify chamber would never activate. There were no visible scratches on the cd, and when I asked the colosseum and XD modding/challenge discord they said they’d never seen that before but it was legal for me to emulate if I had the physical disc. I don’t know it just isn’t as special emulated.

Weird that gamefreak thinks they need to adhere to the gym formula (trials were pretty much the same thing) when Colosseum and XD are some of the best in the series.
The fact they wanna forget these games is pain! XD and Colo imo are peak “mature” themed Pokemon games and I think older players would appreciate an experience like this again.

My first question that I had was “why espeon over umbreon?” Then I realized just how many dark types you get especially early game (I had not played xd before and was playing alongside this video)
Espeon is a nuke in Coli for sure! Once you get Psychic its a wrap lol

Well picking espeon definitely helped. I had figured getting access to stab bite would help early game but then when I saw that umbreon would be too slow and watch 2 Pokémon die to eaguns pikachu while espeon would then be faster flinch it and therefore render it useless I changed my mind
@beyondawesomegaming3517 umbreon is a Great Wall and you can abuse helping hand to have espeon go crazy. But I usually ran esp and Quag to wipe most teams
Its a good challenge to 100% I have done it once so far. But I plan to do it six more times for language saves.

How is it 100% without all of Orre Colosseum?
I based my 100% off of the 100% speedrun. Just a single completion is all that’s needed, same with Mt. battle :)
OK first off, holy crap. That's a LOT of content I missed out on when I was younger. Wow. I applaud your dedication to 100%ing this game
Second, while you were going through all the shadows you caught, I was like "Oh damn, the team is gonna be really hard to choose from! You've got stuff like Roserade, for example" before remembering that the game is gen 3... God, I'd love to get an official remake/remaster/3rd Orre game at some point...
Third, you made sure to get all 3 Johto starters from Mt Battle, right? Or did you just do it once? I'd assume the former, but I don't know if you mentioned it

While this video is well over a year old now, I don't consider it to be true 100%. You never finished Orre Colosseum's additional rounds, which DOES reward unique things, last I recall.
It was one annoying grind for me to finish it, that'a for sure. But I also didn't want to run legendary spam, lol.
According to the 100% speedrun it’s not needed!
I do however plan on going back and doing all the rounds for pure fun and will prob post Strats and such!

Im so confused, how is this a 100% when the majority of the Orre Colosseum, earning the titles, and the corresponding emails is skipped.
Thats the hardest and more difficult challenge and is the hallmark of an actual 100%. So when answering the question "How hard is it to 100%" you just cut out the actual hardest part of the game?
Who decided that 100% is not actually doing the hardest Orre challenges? Because calling it 100% with that caveat is objectively false. And its disappointing because I was really looking forward to how you tackled that section, considering its final challenge of the game.
As stated in the video, the 100% is based on Ryziken 100% speedrun :). Simply beating the Orre Colosseum once is all that’s needed for completion as per the speedrun!
But (and not tryna sound mean cuz I swear it’s not lol) I can do Orre in full just for you. Idk if I’ll upload it but I’ll deff stream it :).
Its not did this game 100% as a 8-10 year old. These games are not that hard. Its harder than the standard yes but the standard is made for literal children to beat
Some of the battle CDs I’d argue are incredibly tricky

Honestly this video left me rather underwhelmed. I got a lot of "what" you did and none of "how" you did it. Or "why" you did what you did. If I could give some tips, I'd say you should find a finer line of explaining and summarizing, because there was way too much summarizing.
I'd also recommend watching im_blissey's videos. He does a great job at explaining what, why, and how 👍

Competitive Pokemon in Gen 6 ruined my life (Because I didn't hack)
I didn’t wanna go too in depth with what I was doing as the game itself is for the most part self explanatory, so summarizing felt better than to explain each battle or encounter in the game.
I watched the vid and it’s an entirely different genre, you 100% want to explain comp Pokemon such as EV training/move sets etc so makes sense to cover the what, why, and how. I appreciate the advice genuinely, :) but the 2 vids are aiming to accomplish 2 different things, 1 is 100% a game and the other is explaining Comp Pokémon and what goes into that
@@Cyndoughquil Ofc I don't expect you to explain every battle or battle CD, but I at the very least expected you to go over anything in particular that gave you a rough time. Like the greevil fight, you say yourself that it is one of the hardest fights in the pokemon franchise and I was waiting for you to explain what a bitch it was to try and keep your mons healthy while also catching all 6 shadow mons lol. And surely there were some unique battle CDs that caught your attention that you could've went over. And yeah the goal is to tell how hard it was to 100% and I'd say it was way too general.
But hey ultimately, if you have your own way of doing things then so be it. Go ahead and do em🙏
