The one joke I still remember to this day is "Make sure to stop by the Lavendar Town Pokemart, they have Great Balls! - Quit laughing you pervert."
Pokemon Colosseum and XD use Pokemon Stadium 2 models for gen 1 and 2 pokemon, which means they use Smeargle's gen 2 pallete. Gen 3 swapped the paint color for its normal and shiny pallates.
Agate is pronounced "agit" like the stone it's named for. The Orre regions naming theme is stones/minerals. The "Phenac" from Phenac City is short for "phenacite" (sometimes spelled "phenakite"), for example.
I think you also purify Pokemon in Colosseum by walking. There is a trick in Agate on the left where you keep walking when you put your controller on the right position and leave it like that. This way you can easily purify everything whenever you want.
In Colosseum, I would go to Mt. Battle from area 1 and bring along 6 shadow Pokémon I didn't care to actually train or buy scents. I'd battle with them going up the areas up to Area 7 or 8 and then walk all the way down and then up the stairs until they all got the heart gauge empty.
Colisseum & XD are my favorite Pokemon spin-off games and I’m happy to see the Nintended style of play was the same I did when facing Shadow Lugia :) Maybe a Battle Revolution vid next if there is a guide to that battle-obsessed game lol
You should do the first Mystery Dungeon games next!! I remember getting the game and the guide for Christmas when I was younger and reading that book from front to back. Love these videos!
There is actually a way to get failed shadow Pokemon in Colosseum. You have to beat the game and then go back to Pyrite Town and battle the two trainers who had Shadow Mantine and Shadow Remoraid (it's been a hot minute since I've played Colosseum tho)
Agate is actually pronounced “aggit” or “ag-get” and relates to a stone. There may be other pronunciations for other definitions, but in the continuity of the game (Pyrite, Orre, etc)
@@daringiconoclast6547 😂 Coming from the guys who called onigiri/rice balls jelly doughnuts… I’d never trust their own English translations pre… 🤔 … gen 6.
Great video! Just wanted to clarify the question you had about governors and such about 16:30 in: Orre is based on Arizona, specifically Phoenix, so it makes sense that it would have such a government position. In retrospect, Unova never had a governor though, hmm.
Agate is a gemstone, and it's usually pronounced like maggot. I've also heard a gate, like a fence gate. edit: This isn't directed at anyone, just wanted to share the information for anoye who wat curious.
I get the feeling based on the narration that starting around 18:30, you didn't really pick up that you had the Snag Machine stolen from you. You're going to Team Snagem's hideout to get it back, not get an upgraded one. That's why you can't Snag anything in between these two points; it's not because these Shadow Pokemon are 'upgraded' or anything like that.
I always wanted to own Gale of Darkness but could never find a copy when it released. Anyway, it's great to get a tour of this game I never got to experience and with plenty of type trumping information on how best to progress through it. The guide seemed a fairly handy one and even with some subtle jokes like 7:29's ground move commentary. I reckon the guide makers must have been thinking of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon's Keckleon, hence why they keep warning you about the Keckleons.
The poke spots are actually quite useful because if you want to efficiently max out the power and tempo of all 12 purification chambers, just spam the oasis spot and shove each chamber with 4 hoppip. The flying and grass dual typing complement each other and as a result is the best way to quickly purify everything.

But can you really say you beat the game the way Nintendo intended when you didn't try to use dark type moves on the purple twin, and Solrock on the earthquake admin? I never use Shadow Pokémon, myself, I just purify them as quickly as possible, plus I mainly just stuck with one team for the whole game. So the idea of using Shadow Lugia to tank the Shadow moves in the final battle never would have occurred to me! I still had my evolved Eevee (Vaporeon), Ursaring- the first Shadow Pokémon you get, Houndoom which I got off the red Hexagon brother, and Ampharos which I got off the yellow one, through pretty much the entire game. My Xatu was also an early capture. The only exception was Flygon, which I got from a Pokéspot.
