When my son was 5 he caught a walleye fingerling at the local pond. He named him marky mark 🤘 and asked if we could put him in our tank with our community fish. I thought oh how cute. We dropped “marky mark” into our well established community tank. The next morning all my damn fish were missing and there lay the walleye at the bottom with a giant lump in his stomach. We brought mark back to the pond and released his voracious ass back to the wild where he belonged
Lmmfao
Karma for putting wild fish in your tank without doing research
@@малиновка-е9ь sometimes people just get excited and forget to do their research not bad though they realized the mistake and released the fish
Lol
I keep snakeheads. They are a really reactive fish, it is just a pain picking them off the floor during the night, despite concrete floorboards.
One huge tank with all Midwest species? Bass, bluegill, channel cat, etc
Thats the vision I have going for the 1200 gallon pool! It would be cool to have them in a huge aquarium too.
@@SCFishKeeping nasty craps lol
Bass would get eaten by pike and wallet would eat the bluegill and channel cats would just vibe
@@Willskarp depends on the size.... a bass a couple inches smaller than the pike won’t get eaten. And if the bluegill were like 7 inches the walleye don’t have big enough mouths.
I have 2 smallmouth bass and a channel cat in my tank now. This summer I’ll grab two small blue gill as well.
A lot of people think of walleye as this super slow lazy fish that needs to be spoon fed a jig and a minnow, meanwhile they're a super predator just as voracious and apt to chase and follow baits like pike.
I've seen people troll at insanely fast speeds and still catch them consistantly, hell at low light periods I've seen walleye hit top water.
Give walleye more credit, they're an apex predator and usually the top predator of their ecosystem, they just do what any other top predator does and follow their food.
Find elk - find wolves
Find baitfish - find walleyes
Where'sTheSauce? Can confirm. I’ve caught them on top water lures.
I love this video! We had a big tank in college. Check out our latest walleye fishing video in Branson. Some bikini and big walleye action
My Wife still thinks thats the cutiest thing with ur girls keep it up
Tell her I said thank you again! I'm going to do another video with my youngest here soon!
Have you ever kept bowfin? I have kept native species since i can remember except for bowfin and that awesome walleye you got! Like the show an look forward to more!
U should get one massive tank and do a mangrove theme and add mangrove fish and mudskippers would be cool
That would be a cool set up!
@@SCFishKeeping plus four-eyed fish, archer fish, and fiddler crabs.
I’ll do it one day
Always a good time in the SC fish keeping house 😉👌💥
I do have fun! Haha
@@SCFishKeeping I enjoy watching 🧐
Can you tell me what temp you keep your walleye tank at? Also, do you worry about Ich in the tank when you introduce minnows for feeding?
I'm not touching that "subscribe button down below" until I see what you have here. If I like, I subscribe. If I don't, I move along.
I can respect that. What was the verdict?? Sticking around for awhile?
Not sure how I've missed your channel but I'm here now!!! You have amazing videos! Thanks for the videos! Love the native fish room!! Incredible!!!!!
I appreciate the kind words man! I'm glad you enjoy the content and the fish! I'm definitely loving these native fish species right now and will for sure be getting more!
Try to breed the big Bass this fall I wonder if it's possible?? Probably not IDK tho 😅
Bruh, cool walleye vid. One of my favs to catch, eat & keep in aquarium!
Dope video bro. Nothing like the feeding videos. Cant wait to see gillie culp a few things.. she needs to stop being so damn shy.. lol
I'm working with her! Gillie will get there before long!!
I'd like to see you build a no filter living ecosystem, kind of like what Floo the Flowerhorn does
I'll have to look into that more! Sounds like an awesome challenge and I know who you are talking about.
@@SCFishKeeping I'm really into plants and no-till organic gardening as well as fish... it combines all that together which is really awesome. I think the basic concept is a layer of soil, then a layer of rocks, then you start addind your aquatic plants and fish and other creatures like nerites and little shrimps. I really want to learn the ins and out of growing with aquaponics
The biggest walleye I've seen was 3 foot long and I was fishing with a small minnow
They have the potential to be giants!! I want to say the record for largest ever caught was just over 40"!
Im really thinking about getting a few small black or white crappie but i have heard there very hard to maintain and keep alive...ANY TIPS OR SUGGESTIONS?...id never want to hurt them, crappie are my fav species
Pulled a prank on my dorm mates once in my youth. They went ice fishing, caught a bunch of walleye, and left them in the slop sink...so I just HAD to stop the drain, and waited until they warmed up and woke up.
Hopefully Millie gets an upgrade, and the largemouth would appreciate some logs
Millie has an upgrade in the works! He's getting close to outgrowing that tank! Then the Largemouth pool is getting a full scape as well.
8:17 that's the most satisfying timing I have ever seen. Good job man
Biggest tip about keeping walleye: make sure 8ts legal where you live, be sure it's not legal everywhere
Having native fish is OK. But transporting them is illegal most places in North America. Too many non native species now in once native lakes.
Amazing videos I love your fish videos so cool, I’m setting up a 70 gal tank for 1 rock bass, could you just help me out listing everything I’ll need, I’m going to use lake water, I’ll have rocks in the bottom I know I’ll need an aeration system for bubbles to make oxygen, and a filter, anything else I’ll need or you could recommend to have an awesome set up that’s healthy for the fish thanks man
Have a panfish tank? If not I think that would be pretty cool. Great video 👍🏻
Its being planned right now my friend!
I have a LED light connected to a dimmer module to simulate evening-night-morning -daylight. The timer progressively dims the lights almost as natural 24hrs. Do you use this?
What about white bass are they a good pet species? Im keeping mine in a 20 gallon (he Is only a 1,1/2 inches) and when he gets bigger I will transfer him to my 250 gallon show tank
Be careful handing the baby walleye if you wipe the slime off then they will die I'm from Wisconsin they are native in lake winnebago right near my house I've tried to keep them that's just what I've learned from handling them
1 massive freshwater tank on the new empty wall. Get a bunch of fresh water sting rays!!! And a bunch of other fresh water stuff
Good stuff. An expensive time consuming but well worth it Hobby. I as well am a fish enthusiast. Look forward to more videos.
Great job on the videos please keep them coming I do have a question what meds do you use when you quarantine fish
Appreciate the kind words! As far as meds go, it really just depends on the situation! Most commonly I just observe the fish before treating with any medication. Then if I need to treat with an Ich medication or something like a General Cure... I can do that!
Bro dig a hole for a 16 foot Intex pool and cover it with a green house or cabin to keep it from freezing and get some giant pile musky and walleye for it
I’m trying to find the website link that you go to so I can get some for myself, but I can’t find the link to the site in any of your discriptions, please help
Which full grown cichlid can I keep in my 40 gallon breeder tank?
A monster tank with an arowana
Not a bad idea! I do love arowanas!
@@SCFishKeeping think its got to be my dream fish! Just need a tank big enough 👎 so seeing you have one and watching it grow would be awesome!
The walleye cant be more agressive then a musky or a pike right?
Definitely get a huge tank for back walll. At least 10ft by 4.5ft high
I’m starting a perch farm so if you are interested in buying some for a video I have 25 of them.
How did you get a walleye? I can't seem to find them anywhere for a tank
I have a red parrot and a lot of other breads there is 1 dude in my aquarium called ouscar he is very scared cus red parrot attacks him
Walleye huh ....... put that bad boy in my 125 with my dovii and let’s see how tuff he is lol
Dovi would kill it....walleye are aggressive feeders not fighters
Hello l really enjoy your utube but l really think wild fish should remain in the wild... There's loads of exciting fish you can buy from an aquatic shop... Sorry!
These fish were not actually collected from the wild but purchased from a native fish seller. I have caught my own wild fish before however but I am finding fish that are abundant for that area.
Also, many of the exotic fish you find in fish stores are collected from the wild before being sold.
Nice video See you at aquashella, zac!
finally a fish channel that doesnt put the same 12 bar blues on every dam video
Love the video thought they would enjoy colder water. Good to know
They can handle colder water, and I know they spawn in much colder water! But this is the range I've been keeping mine in and they've been doing great!
Hey brother what you think about perch is ok keep them all ur fish looking good
Can they survive in subtropical and tropical climates
i live in the netherlands in europe and there live in the wild pike well over a meter
I would love to be able to go out and find some massive pike like that!
Look up muskellunge, largest member of the pike family: known to reach up to 1.8m.
These predators greatly remind me of wolf fish.
God is great! Jesus loves you all, have a blessed day everyone:)
Am I the only one who notice the toy story clip in this video or was it attended
I aspire to be like you and take care of freshwater American fish and more
So where can you get walleye if not in your local waters? Did you catch yours?
Best fish youtuber ever!!
Walleye are awesome fish. Really like seeing the Smallmouth Milli and Ken. One question about your music in this video. Who does the song you used in the 6:00 minute time. Excellent choice!
The song I used for the background music is just a stock song provided by Filmora (my editing software) I can get the artist name and stuff for you in a bit!
U are incredibly handsome btw i must say 🤭 love the tattoos!
Walleye?! Do you mean Pike bait? Ya I am sure that is what you ment.
Awesome so do you still have your wolf fish
That wolf fish is the reason I had to tear down the rack! He got out of the lid I had on the tank and fell down the center of the cinder blocks! I'm going to get another though
Yeah it happens in thinking of getting a wolf fish myself
Got any pointers of keeping wolf fish?
Use that new space to make a pond like joeys from king of diy
Way too much talk. Not enough of actually seeing the fish.
Why not a sauger? They're smaller more coloured walleye!
I need to start raising walleye now that take down was sick
I have one at home please help I wanna keep him my dad wants to eat him🙇🏻🙇🏻
ever think about trying to keep a Northern Pike?
Great video as always! Fish room is looking good bud!
Thanks! It's coming together!
One big wall tank with a bad ass river set up would be sweet man.
You should make one massive plywood tank on that wall
WALLEYE Are actually Related to Perch
I hate live feeding, as fish keeper i love and respect all the fish i keep.
Get a Flathead catfish or perhaps a stingray or shark
Where can u get the walleyes besides getting them in the wild
What are the dimensions on the Walleye aquarium?
I’d have more than a sponge filter on their tank if they’re so sensitive
What happened to the wolf fish?
zac what happened to the yellow bullhead with milliken fishing rescue
Still loving life in the wooden pond! I'm thinking about moving him to a tank though so we can all see him!
Love the channel! Keep it up dude!
Thank you brother! Always appreciate your kind words!
Where are the Crappie?
And why do you have a heater in the tank with the Walleye?
The heater wasn't plugged in. Just a holdover from the fish that was in there before! Definitely don't need a heater when keeping Walleye!
You too much taking ashile
Put a walleye and pike together
hey, I don’t know if you’ve ever seen a darter fish, or if you can even order them, but that small tank would be perfect for a darter tank. Such interesting colorful little fish
I actually have plans to set up a little darter tank! I think a little tank like that would be amazing! And I know a place I can order them from as well!
SC Fish Keeping hell yeah man, they really are one of the most interesting small freshwater fish. Some crazy colors
SC Fish Keeping I used to keep about 20 of them in a 55 gallon, my favorite tank ever.
Lol toy story reference had me rolling......best generation an yes very beautiful fish
Haha thanks man! I think I spent as much time looking for that clip as I did editing the rest of the video! haha
@@SCFishKeeping lol its worth the extra work
Very very aggressive fish I love it
Thanks buddy!
Should get some yellow perch
Walleye also love running water
Are you selling your 40 G breeder?
One huge N. American tank.
What temp you running bro
Were did you get this fish in fishing?
One massivd tank like it
Love your videos zach, love all the way from south carolina!
Appreciate that! Thank you!
Where did you get one I want one
You should do a school of crappie
I got a few questions. Where did you source your walleye? Do you ever do tours of your tanks. Are you in Omaha? I live in Lincoln and id like to see your fishies!
Love em! Walleyes are way cool fish!
Do a 300 gallon saltwater tank
I got a 6 pound bass in Wisconsin
I was more impressed at how the music was in sync with the bites. On the money
I appreciate that!
Walleye don’t like tanks
Build massive tank
What about snakeheads
multiple theme tanks
Do a massive 6ft tank
