Day 954 of quarantine. We now communicate exclusively through sea shanties and pirate lingo. We spent the last of our flour on a pizza. We're almost out of food. No end is in sight.

Day 8000 of quarantine the space pirates have spared all those who can sing sea shanties we are doomed
Day 192,067,842 of quarantine - We have transcended mortality. We have become true pirate gods and now reside in a higher plane of existence. We demand pizza as tribute and sea shanties to be sung in our honor
Day 2 of Quarantine.
The booze is all gone, and Zapdog is still on my couch moaning in his sleep about the space pirate gods and why the pizza tributes will be late this year.

Ok just the funniest part of the video was panning over to dave who somehow has a perfectly made ship model magically with just toothpicks and a glue gun XD I laughed for like 5 minuetes at that.

Real talk, thats probably the best version I've heard of this shanty. The one you guys did on the beach was a bit too fast in tempo (still awesome!), but this one? Yeah this was satisfying all around.

I work a cleaning job and honestly I belt out this song while doing it, helps time go by and keeps me in a good rhythm, still using it for its original purpose 200 years after it was written!

I sang this for my choir teacher out of nowhere and random kids (who I didn’t know btw) just started singing along and harmonizing with me and he just got on his knees and bowed and praised my ability to unite people with song. That was a great day
no matter how may times i hear any of the songs these guys sing, it will always bring me joy
I really like the fact that the English naval jack (not just the English flag) is on the back of the boat. It's little hidden details like that I love to find.
In terms of practical effects this one-shot is absolutely incredible. Forget that the shanty itself is beyond top tier, the cinematography only enhances it further. What an awesome video shoot!

My assumption, lot's of different, similar props. Alternate theory, either Robbie or JD is an eldritch being that can bend space-time.
Used a mechanical head to spin the camera and choose points to look at. The person opposite called when someone was off camera so they could get their next props ready. Lots of rehearsal and prep work to get it right. (also, this was the second time we did it successfully)
@@thelongestjohns Wait how on earth did you do the card castle that way? I was wondering how much of it was practical, but when I saw the card castle I was like "no way. It's got to be editing"
@@hawkspiral I would guess that the cards are glued together (except the two ones that jd is holding in each shot) and they had multiple versions of the castle to switch out

just found you guys today through the shanty singers playing Seas of Thieves and i didn't expect it to literally blow me away, my favorite might be this very song, i also may have just tried to sing a little bit of the song too XD

Customers who enjoyed, yadda yadda, try out Ewan McColl and AL Lloyd's "Blow Boys Blow", a record from about 1968 of sea shanties. Part of the English folk song revival, started in the 50s. Bet the LJs know it too.

@@Mister-Bones kenku bard is the coolest, you may not can sing very well but you're an instrumental music master. I would suggest you multiclass to swashbuckler rogue at some point cause that is the pirate subclass for rogue and it's charisma reliant so it fits both character, background, and the actual character mechanics
