Also remembering the PC of equivalent power will do a hell of a lot more than a PS5 Pro. And the advantages of the PS5 Pro over a standard one will be miniscule in the scheme of things.

Dude, it's as simple as Sony announcing Bloodborne 2. They'd instantly get the people's hype. Or announced a 60FPS update for Bloodborne. BOOM. SALES INCREASE.
They really did say the PS5 was shit with the way they marketed the Pro while people are still sat waiting for games
Jay of Jayz2Cents BASICALLY said if you follow the spec list, you will build something MORE powerful because if you match shader for shader and core for core the PC will win, but it will cost more. IF you build something for around $750-800 USD, you CAN have something similar performance wise. Jay put together something like NEW 12600k + 3060ti build and it would run very similar for a very similar price MOSTLY because you are taking advantage of things like DLSS, and the cost reduction of 12th gen and 30 series GPUs when building a PC. IF used is an option for building... then you could probably kick it's butt. Personally I have built ryzen 5000 series + high end used 3070/3080 for around the $800 mark, but that's used and VERY market/ region situational.

I’m definitely gonna buy it. My ps5 is as old as whenever they came out and I travel with it every week. So I’ll trade it in for this upgrade. I don’t use stand or disk so having the slightly smoother games is worth it. Especially since some of them give me a headache already.
That Wukong game really bothered me. It was okay when I switched modes. But man if they could get it running smoother with some of those graphics enhanced that would be cool. That game may still struggle though.

The biggest issue i think is theres no games for this new console, and even if there are in the future, im guessing itll be the same problem as X VS S Xbox: even if its optimised for the highest tech, it is held back by the lesser versions

Jay2cents parts were not equal to the Ps5 Pro because of GPU customizations. that said seeing whats been shown so far the games arent actually performing any better than the PS5. They are just using AI upscaling to look clearer.
A pc will last you longer for sure, mainly because pc companies don’t press you to buy the newest pc every 3 years and then come out with a slightly better version either worse features

high end? perhaps. But being a better running pc for cheaper? 100% true. 4060 ti+ 5600 is better than ps5 pro for performance and brand new those combined are $400, and for 300 you can get 32gb ram and 2tb m.2 storage (and a decent midtower case + everything else)
Even if it cost $1000 to build a PC equivalent PS5 Pro, that $300 extra you spend gets you far more features and capabilities from what a PC can do. A PC can play Sony PS-> PC titles, Xbox, emulation for all classic consoles, etc etc. Versus $700 just to run fidelity and performance mode simultaneously. Yeah, not worth an extra $200 over base PS5 for dual modes, and not one feature more.
you can make a stronger pc for $700 so there really is no reason to get the pro.

I can get a pc that runs five times better then the pro for $999, and it could run 4K stuff, or I could drop $1600 and get a pc with a 4090 in it meaning it will be stronger then any current gen consoles and most likely next gen consoles as well, Sonys a joke.

His build has a 1TB drive, not 2 like the PS5 Pro.
Also, I find it ironic that a community of streamers with system builds with a single $2,000+ 4090, are crapping on a console that has higher resolution and frame rates.
When you could literally make the same statement between the 3060-4090.
"higher resolution and frame rates" LMFAO 💀💀😂💀 4090 gets 80fps 4k without dlss and with it can get 144fps 4k and ps5 pro just gets 30 on most games with 60 on select few. be so forreal lmao. also 3060 isnt competing with a 4090, its for people who want a cheaper PC. funny how we have a bunch of varying options and a used market that keeps value so you dont lose everything each upgrade (plus we have games).

ALL arguments tie in subscription costs, without acknowledging that PSN also makes games available.
Sony is not removing PS5 or used PS5s from the market. In fact this should drop the price of used, since there will be trade ins.
The PS5 “killer” that Jay made didn’t even full beat the proposed specs by PS5 with the smaller drive.
PS Portal wasn’t a smash hit either, and Sony is making a 30th anniversary version of that too.
In fact, the PS4 Pro was only really designed to assist with the PSVR system, and that wasn’t known to be a massive sale either.
Utterly pointless, there was a benefit when ps4 pro came but absolutely no utter point in ps5 pro ,total total waste of money 💰
