This one's ripe for the picking : 1) I'd piss off those LED light bars and replace all of them with a pair of Halogen Fyrlyt spotlights. 2) Needs a Warn High Mount 8274 with steel cable and a steel roller fairlead. 3) Get rid of those Super Gumbo Swamp Stickers and fake bead lock wheels and replace them with a set of splitties. How the hell did we manage to travel Australia with just an esky, milk crate and water bag ?
I think, to answer your question, Ade..... Not in Comfort!! But truthfully, my Mr Land cruiser friend..... I'm kinda glad that touring has become a lot more civilized, showers and rooftop tents, pie ovens and canopies all add to the enjoyment of getting out and about. Safety and comfort have increased at the cost of the Old School look and hardships. We all know that dyneema rope doesn't store the energy of steel wire cable. But 45 years ago, wire was all that you could get, the same thing with the split rim wheels and therefore they have "the look" I think that if I had unlimited finance.... I'd like to have both, original Old 40 and a modernized and capable 40 for touring.... Actually I'd probably have a heap of 40s, all set up for different things, Troopys, big powerful engines, disks, 5 speeds and great suspension, possibly one on an 80 chassis....oh, the list is endless!!! Oh for unlimited finance!!! But Ade, we know where your love lies... Old and Originality! I can appreciate that too 😁👍
Thank you my friend. What makes me laugh is that all the expense of these mega-palace rigs does nothing to improve the view nor get you closer to nature especially when the basic hire 4wd's all get to the same locations. Each to their own. I am happy for people to do whatever they like. I'm just not caught in the accessory trap. I see these mega 4wd's out here all the time. Mostly they sit around the fire talking to their neighbours who have the same vehicles. It's all about posing (i refer to the double cab 79's with all the extra). @@joseywales3789
Ya gota love Jack's style, catchin a kip where ever he can. When he's under the car he's learnt to sleep with a spanner in his hand. As for Troy's toy, what a rippa of a bus to bugger off in! Shame about the alloy box being buggered but I reckon he'll find something better built anyhow.
These old shape Landcruiser’s & the 80 series & of course the GQ & GU Patrol coil cab utes are the best trucks to have. All these modern twin cabs & other 4by’s are just shithouse. But that’s just my opinion. Oh yeh & the HDJ79 utes & troopys with the 1HD-FTE
"trying not to swear" 🤣🤣🤣
Just noticed door switches on the A pillars.

What about a sun visor?? That's the only other thing missing I feel.
Yes true. I agree with you. An authentic sun visor would be useful and appreciated whilst out in the paddock or touring around. Cheers. @@boxmat182ify

Troy dropped in on Friday and he's already had a new canopy built and installed, doesn't waste time that man.
After cooler?
Nope
What's going on with your HJ47 paul
Full engine rebuild and new ACL loom, she'll be back together before CLECS!
