This video perfectly shows how much more a bass drum player has to look around to get to their dots compared to snares. Love it 😍 as a freshman bass in high school. Edit: mostly in the beginning
Bass drummer should turn their heads no more then snares or tenors. Their head should always be cranked in the way of the audience and at an upward angle such as snares and tenors. They are all in the same boat. Sometimes they may have to look yes but not as often as one may think.
@@joshmakhoul5522 you dont know what it's like to where you have the biggest bass drum then the rest of the bass line or even a bass drum it's not snare drum you cant see down so you have to move your head dipshit
Briceson watson First of all, what you wrote barely makes any sense at all. Second, Josh is correct. If you think that’s wrong then you don’t know what it’s like (or haven’t been properly taught) to march a bass drum. You should always be angle your face upward looking at the box/drum major. Looking around and down at the ground while marching is how you mess up forms or just look visually poor. So like I said either you don’t know what you’re talking about or just haven’t been told how to properly march. Thank you and good bye.
Say what you want about Crown’s drumline, but Crown Bass is always tasty
Dancers had good cheeks too
@@kishascape whattt 😭😭
What is that stick flip, fling, trick thing in the beginning, and is it bass 5 mallet friendly?
He's just twirling it between his fingers
Alex Z. Ah, It was just fast so I didn't know if it was some fancy thing
Most likely not bass five friendly
The very beginning is just thumb rolls then he starts twirling between his fingers
Flip, fling ,too me it stretches and loosens up strengthens the fingers and wrist
This is my high school field. I was so excited when I saw the end and the wahoo concession stand. Nazareth on three one, two, three WAHOOO!
I’m a freshman on snareline but this vid is still dope to watch

Okay I have a question, so do DCI groups write their drill based off a college, high school, or NFL field. Because you know the hashes are different.
College
Making stuff up on fly, and it goes off like you've been for all the practices. Now that's a good drum line
Not sure if I missed it but does he ever use the single mallet in the middle

Bass arent ranked on skill just so you know
Probably meant Bass 1
Sure, bass 1 and 2 are just prepping the drummer for the snare line. So yeah, skill is kinda involved
Its weired seeing "bass splits" I am an HBCU marcher and all of the basses we have are the same size
Which go pro did you use in this vid big boi?
