How appropriate that this video was uploaded the day I had just returned from Madrid! Cafeterías seems to be the key spot to find churros I have noticed. Since this was a food challenge, I knew certain options would be on there. Although I expected to see tortillas and jamón, patatas bravas. Hope you enjoyed your time in Spain. Certainly a gastronomically rich country. I love how the average city in Spain will have restaurants specializing in food from other regions such as Catalonia, Galicia, and the Basque region.

@1:15 that looks like the same room layout I had, but it was in Basel, Switzerland. My hotel was the Ibis Budget at Muenchensteinerstrasse Bruecke, about 1 km east of the SBB rail station. It shares one side of the building along with the Novotel, and is right next to the university's college of economics campus. My room had 3 prong earthed "type J" outlets that can also accept the two prong non-earthed"Type C" plugs.

You have taught me that empanadas are Spanish. I always thought they were South American :)

The type of empanadas he ate aren't typical in Madrid!

Every contry has made some variation of empanadas. Depends where you're from you'll think your variation of "meat stuffed in pastry" is the traditional one.

Im aorry but what you ate was a porra, not a churro 🙊 The difference ia that the porra has baking soda in it to make it fluffy, while churros are just flour and water. Still, i guess it can count. I know for a fact that you recorded past many churrerías where I've had churros myself. Churros are not sold in bakeries, they are sold in café (what we call cafeteria) or bars (its like a cross between a pub and a café).

Street food doesn't happen much in Spain. It's not the done thing to ealk around and eat, it's more acceptable to sit down, even if it's only 10 minutes.
Many markets either shut or reduce their hours on a Monday as there's no fish. Some restaurants close for that reason, too.
Churros are eaten in the morning, you were lucky to get one when you did.
I've been coming to Spain for almost 50 years, I've lived here for the last 6, and I've never heard of number 5, even in Cataluña.
