Dillon Gabriel was not Oklahoma's best player in the slightest. He was good, but Danny Stutsman was by far the best last year, or maybe Billy Bowman. Oklahomas only real problems last year were discipline on penalties and special teams

IMO - BS on the overview of your Michigan comments as a whole! You seem to be missing the core of this team. Your comments make me believe you probably did not follow this team closely last year or the last few years. While Michigan DOES have the largest NFL draft class in the history of college football, your comments on lost production is an assumption that most people (including yourself) does not seem to understand. So, in my opinion you simply do follow Michigan closely to know how Michigan operates. First of all, for the last several years they have and continue to develop and rotate all of their underclassmen consistently into play throughout the season! This is why they have been so dominant for 3 years in a row on both the offensive and defensive lines. They do not solely rely on their starting team as most teams do. They also physically develop their players consistently throughout the year - not just in skill and talent, but in strength, speed, and "attitude". While consistent rotation also results in low stats for individual players (another reason people are always surprised by Michigan players), it develops an entire team of 100 players! I will admit that quarterback competition is still a question this year based on JJ McCarthy leaving. But, things are developing at quarterback too! As far as your 1 minute analysis, I am saying you - like others - will likely be very surprised at Michigan again! They execute their game differently than most teams. They do not SIMPLY just seek out the highest rated talent. They also seek out dedication, speed, strength and above all - attitude - and then develop their talent (like all "schools" should do). All the while, they focus on player development and team involvement (and comradery) giving as many players as possible experience to play in games as the team plays out their season. They are not focused on running up scores and accumulating stats for individual players. This is VERY different than most of the other highly ranked college football teams. Admittedly, while Michigan has one of the most difficult schedules this year and OSU has "purchased" a very strong team of starting players this year (most of whom are taught to play first for their stats and themselves), despite some of their changes in coaching Michigan will still be a big contender and will surprise many people while going deep into the college football playoffs this year!

If you have my Ducks from 4-8, I can’t hate.
However, the Big10 outside of a handful of teams is going to be easier to navigate than the Pac12 and there 2 reasons why.
First I’ll say that Oregon is only gonna have two real challenges in 2024. And maybe three with Wisconsin if they are a half way decent team. I’m really confident for Ohio state, and Michigan is the one game I’m not sure about, because they looked much better than Ohio State in their spring game. Before that, I was way more confident about Oregon beating. Michigan. And even though Oregon had the top offense in 2023 with SP+ in the regular season, and Oregon will be even better in 2024 with the best WR core, and best offense, Michigan looked really good. Ohio State on the other hand looks like 2004, when they threw for 2200yds, and a young Troy Smith was not that great as the second QB…even though he won the Heisman 2yrs later. This OSU QB is almost the same. Average experienced QB and young talented guys that will lose you games too. So OSU isn’t gonna be the threat everyone thinks they’re gonna be.
But back to my two reasons…
First, recruiting west of Texas where only 20% of the US population lives is tough for the teams out west. Not only do you have the top teams poaching some the top talent, but there’s just less talent. Because of that, it’s tough to recruit the same, and every team has a different offensive and defensive scheme, which makes it challenging to have your one roster navigate 9 different styles. That’s why the Big10 and also SEC is easier for the top teams. Everyone east of Texas has 80% of the population, and probably 95% of the top talent…so they’re able to get more similar recruits. That’s why you see a similar brand of football in those two leagues I mentioned, and they’re usually top heavy for that reason. Pac12 is a much harder league to go 11-1 in, like Oregon did last year.
And the second reason-injuries. If the Big10 and SEC was tougher, and more physical, you would see far more injuries, and you would see stronger players, and I haven’t seen that my entire life, and I’m 43 years old. Are there a different style of player based on their size and speed, yes, but when people say more physical, that means collisions, and strength. And because there’s not any more injuries in the Big10 and players in the pac12 are also benching and squatting the same, it’s not an accurate to say they’re more physical.

Big ten is all defense, the offenses are average let’s call a spade a spade here, and if memory serves me correctly most of the pac teams coming over have all time winning records against big ten teams especially USC and I’m also positive Riley has a winning record against big ten as well

B1G and SEC were top 2 conferences long before the conference realignments. If anything, the PAC teams are about to learn what real football is. All last year we heard about Washington’s “daunting offense” only to see them get mollywhopped in the natty by Michigan. Thats going to happen again this year (at least with top B1G teams like Michigan, OSU and PSU)
