It is hard to win games when Ross literally gives you 25 minutes of playing 4vs5 on offense. At least Stewart has shown us he is capable of scoring double digits in a game. Should have been on the court at the end of the Xavier game. He would have at least shot the ball.
Great show,.. Hard not to get excited about next year. .Regarding this year I don't believe it is a heart issue or issue of effort.. More than anything roles must be identified organically & you can't force players into roles they aren't able to fulfill. Making AM the PG, AK as a go-to guy, the Soph leap, and assuming TR/SJ would be the next AS/DC combo.. Tall order, and the truth bears out on the court and the truth is that these players weren't able to fill those roles, less Solo's offensive input. To be fair, Liam IS a go-to player & our team was starting to peak offensively when he got hurt. Hass has been better than expected, and he can do many things, but what he is not is a consistent shooter...Why bring Liam back against the best defense we'll face.. Wouldn't 15 m vs Depaul make sense?
This team has all the athletic talent you could want. What it doesn't have is the killer instinct, and it doesn't have maybe the basketball IQ of the last 2 teams. This year has seen a lot of unforced errors that have cost them 5 close games. This year's team is a likable team, though. They are trying, and playing hard. And they battle for the entire 40 minutes (Dayton game excepted).
Yup, exactly this. Solo is the best shooter in college, but I saw it last year in layup lines that he's not a killer. Watching Steph and Solo pregame made this evident. Steph was always, and I mean always, locked in. At no time did you see Steph joking and f'ing around before a game. On more than one occasion, I would see Solo trying to play around with Steph and he was having no part of it. Steph is a really special player and I'd be so ecstatic to see Solo get some of that killer mentality
3:40 I disagree I think mcneely will be a absolute superstar in the league and he’s by far our best player and honestly him and solo are our 1st and 2nd option
It feels like some of them need something good to happen for themselves before they can get into the game. Unfortunately, they have to be willing in order to change that behavior.
He’s still a huge liability on the defensive end. He showed something last game but unless this team can get some stops it won’t matter. Hoping the Huskies can figure it out soon and definitely by Big East tourney time. Can’t have a super team every year gotta ride or die with the huskies no matter what
Anyone who is writing this team off in JANUARY is ignorant. Liam just being on the court takes pressure off of guys who have been struggling. Having said that this team may just have an effort/commitment issue?? Reed Stewart?? Would be shocked if it was someone that was already on the team?? But balls defense has been horrible so who knows what is going on with him.
There's no Newton, Napier, Walker, Gordon, or El-Amin type dog on this team. The guard play is above average and centers are far from dominant uconn brand we expect. Kind of dillusional to put all of our chips on freshman McNeely. Holding out hope still that they make a run in March.
@@dougf-s6w @nwarner616 It has to be defensive related b/c Ross can't buy a 3 & Stewart has been struggling on the defensive end, so you'd think there'd be an opportunity for him to get in there, make an open shot & stay in front of his man..
23:50 Alex is not a first round pick !!! He can’t guard and he will get absolutely cooked against 4 men in the nba if anything he’s done nothing but hurt his draft stock
Team is very young. Stop comparing thisbyears teams to last year's because it's not gonna be that team. We, as fans are spoiled. Be patient. We aren't even at full strength. Stop hitting the panic button
This team is going nowhere. Just too many injuries to the wrong people and no one else stepping up. It happens in college hoops. This year is like the 92-93 and 96-97 Huskies. Young players not ready for prime time and championship holdovers not meshing with newcomers. NIT is likely this year. A lot of these soft-mores are going portal.
I don't like the way they've looked lately, but they're missing their best player, so it was at least expected. I feel like your comment could've easily been written on 1/29/14, when UConn was sitting at 16-4, with 3 of 4 of those losses coming against unranked opponents. That same Huskies team lost their last regular season game by nearly 40 points to boot. This teams offense is really close to figuring it out and already elite. They just need to figure out some things defensively and they rattle off 6 wins.
@@BlyGuy Shabazz Napier isn’t walking through that door. He doesn’t play for UConn. The we did it before and we can do it again argument doesn’t work because that was 11 years ago. Even some of the wins this year have been ugly. 2014 was wonderful, but that was the exception, not the rule.
What is this based on? Based on every report and every piece of news/information on McNeely, he's a competitive maniac like Hurley, like Spencer. I would be shocked if he hasn't been begging to get back in the lineup and Hurley/training staff have been the reason he isn't back yet. High ankle sprains are no joke.
I said this the other day and I’ll say it again.. teams beating us now enjoy the ride while you can. Completely different story next season!!

❤ should NEVER be an issue with a Dan Hurley player !

Defense, defense, defence. They can score. Need defensive EFFORT!

Aiden just needs to finish with more consistency. He gets to the rim at will, just doesn't get it to go all the time. I really think he can.

Shouldn't need McNeeley vs. Depaul. Maybe rest him again vs. Marquette or just play him 10 or 12 minutes
Bernie too ! 😂👊

My dad passed from liver cancerin 2015was 65 vetnim vet
I don't understand why coach not using Isaiah Abraham
Because the team is struggling to win with the upperclassmen. They can't afford to put in an unproven freshman

If adin finds his game he b a huge wepon off the bench if stew and ross do the same they will make a deep run in march
We cant give up we still have a great team prolly elite 8...we just spoiled and want to win every yr wich is not realistic!
Not giving up did you listen? Their coach is saying they don’t have the heart or that they’re soft.
I'm talking to the fan base ...Hurley will never give up dat obvious captain!..
I've seen Mcneely take him self out the game for a rug burn in Hawaii...Dats soft absolutely pudding

You may be right! Winning the Big East championship may be the only ticket to get into the field of 68.
