This booing thing has been a long time issue with Hartford crowds going back to the mid to late 80s. It used to rub Calhoun so raw that when Gampel was finally built, he threatened to end the games played in Hartford in favor of using Gampel exclusively for home games. I have a feeling that the administration needed to remind Calhoun that UConn relies on state funding and all those state reps and senators love walking over from the state capitol to catch the game rather than hoofing it down to Storrs. Curious to hear what Hurley thinks about the boo birds in Hartford. It's pretty embarrassing.

It was a nice win, though the 1st qtr was a problem because UConn hadn't played a physical team like this one, at least this season. Paige had an off-night, but Azzi and Kaitlyn stepped in and kept the offense going just fine. I had the feeling the play slowed a bit, but it wasn't a huge factor until K.K. came in, and the pace picked up. The difference is huge, and I think it really disrupts the other team a lot. Then Geno brought in Aubrey (for a long time) with K.K., Ashlynn, Morgan, and Ice. They played primarily for a big pressure defense and then transition offense. It worked pretty well and Aubrey continued to return to a good level of skillful play. It didn't seem terribly dramatic, for the most part. It was just a better team beating a lesser team.

Great show. I lean towards Cheli over KK next year, because I agree that KK will continue to be that off-the-bench spark for the team, akin to what Pritchard is doing for the Celts, even though shooting won't be the highlight. I really like Ash, and I hope she can blossom into a star and make up for a big portion of the points they will lose when Paige is not there. Ash is also going to become a defensive star in my opinion.

Ice and Samuels are on my most likely to transfer list. Don't think Azzi is returning unless she has another health setback. If she plays the rest of year, that would quiet some of the concerns from pro scouts that she's fragile. It would be a big injury and draft position risk to return for another year. Next years first game starters will probably be Stong, Kk, Shade, El Alfey and Chelli. Assuming no important additions.

UConn has some great players, but they need to be together as a team and to reach for a higher artistry. This doesn't mean an exaggeration of speed of play, excessive passing, or any one thing out of proportion. It means playing the game with great teamwork together and in opposition to the other team. Players know this experience, so putting it into words doesn't mean much. But, they need to reach out to their teammates and become leveraged, synthesized, amalgamated, etc. Creating shots, positioning to block opposing team shots, all the things they know how to do, but taken to a higher level. The game this evening is a great place to begin this journey. This team has some amazing qualities from the start, and now is one of the best, funnest parts of becoming truly great.

Great show,.. Hard not to get excited about next year. .Regarding this year I don't believe it is a heart issue or issue of effort.. More than anything roles must be identified organically & you can't force players into roles they aren't able to fulfill. Making AM the PG, AK as a go-to guy, the Soph leap, and assuming TR/SJ would be the next AS/DC combo.. Tall order, and the truth bears out on the court and the truth is that these players weren't able to fill those roles, less Solo's offensive input. To be fair, Liam IS a go-to player & our team was starting to peak offensively when he got hurt. Hass has been better than expected, and he can do many things, but what he is not is a consistent shooter...Why bring Liam back against the best defense we'll face.. Wouldn't 15 m vs Depaul make sense?

There's no Newton, Napier, Walker, Gordon, or El-Amin type dog on this team. The guard play is above average and centers are far from dominant uconn brand we expect. Kind of dillusional to put all of our chips on freshman McNeely. Holding out hope still that they make a run in March.

They shot a bunch of bricks when they needed points. Last year, they had many consistent scorers and they need a few more from the current team members.

It feels like some of them need something good to happen for themselves before they can get into the game. Unfortunately, they have to be willing in order to change that behavior.

I said this the other day and I’ll say it again.. teams beating us now enjoy the ride while you can. Completely different story next season!!

Anyone who is writing this team off in JANUARY is ignorant. Liam just being on the court takes pressure off of guys who have been struggling. Having said that this team may just have an effort/commitment issue?? Reed Stewart?? Would be shocked if it was someone that was already on the team?? But balls defense has been horrible so who knows what is going on with him.

It is hard to win games when Ross literally gives you 25 minutes of playing 4vs5 on offense. At least Stewart has shown us he is capable of scoring double digits in a game. Should have been on the court at the end of the Xavier game. He would have at least shot the ball.

Team is very young. Stop comparing thisbyears teams to last year's because it's not gonna be that team. We, as fans are spoiled. Be patient. We aren't even at full strength. Stop hitting the panic button

Aiden just needs to finish with more consistency. He gets to the rim at will, just doesn't get it to go all the time. I really think he can.

This team has all the athletic talent you could want. What it doesn't have is the killer instinct, and it doesn't have maybe the basketball IQ of the last 2 teams. This year has seen a lot of unforced errors that have cost them 5 close games. This year's team is a likable team, though. They are trying, and playing hard. And they battle for the entire 40 minutes (Dayton game excepted).

We cant give up we still have a great team prolly elite 8...we just spoiled and want to win every yr wich is not realistic!

BOTTOM LINE THIS YEAR, IS THAT WE LACK A GOOD NATURAL PG, HASS is MISPLACED and AIDEN DOESNT LOOK LIKE HE EVEN BELONG IN THE COURT ALOT OF TIMES. HE SHOULD HAVE PLAYED NOEL WAY MORE SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON SO THAT HE WOULD BE READY NOW. REMEMBER THAT ALL OF OUR NCAA TITLES WERE LED BY TOP NOTCH POINT GUARD PLAY.

He’s still a huge liability on the defensive end. He showed something last game but unless this team can get some stops it won’t matter. Hoping the Huskies can figure it out soon and definitely by Big East tourney time. Can’t have a super team every year gotta ride or die with the huskies no matter what

This team is going nowhere. Just too many injuries to the wrong people and no one else stepping up. It happens in college hoops. This year is like the 92-93 and 96-97 Huskies. Young players not ready for prime time and championship holdovers not meshing with newcomers. NIT is likely this year. A lot of these soft-mores are going portal.

If he can take 4 guards and a Forward to Final 4 (albeit the core group played avg 38 min) ... there is no reasson why they can't win championship with the playerews now with or without Griffin.

The crowd spirit isn’t where it needs to be because XL Center wants us to dish out hundreds of dollars for nosebleeds to see a mid college basketball game, not because we don’t love UConn. Corporate greed.

This team has had the opportunity for some of its sophomore class in shine with McNeely out and it didn’t work out. It still can but they need to be more aggressive and confident in their own abilities, not time to give up on them.

I’d like to see some run with Isaiah Abraham in this lineup. He’s got more potential and athleticism and shooting than Ross or Stewart. Hurley needs to find a better fit with him in this lineup. Give him a 5 minute run in each half and see where this goes.
