Saw the same thing about him just standing there when he could’ve gone after the missed free throw. His whole approach to those shots was strange. Don’t think I’ve ever seen him shoot like that and miss both. His game has been off the past few games; looks slow and unpredictable with his game.

He then shot the free throws hastily and they were both line drives. No arc. Same thing twice in a row, and then it seemed he was just out of sorts in not reflexively going for the rebound. Could have been fatigue, or maybe something in the back of his mind keeping him from focusing. That was not the Alex we know, but he's a human being and things happen. No time to dwell. Now we turn the page.
As much as there is critical feedback on Alex’s free throws situation, it’s a team sport and the team lost, not Alex lost the game! And there’s a difference between that and a player winning or losing a game for a team, but I digress and won’t argue that point! All in all, I think us UConn fans should be respectful, kind and mature!😊
Alex is the guy I want in that situation. It’s hard to not be disappointed as he only needed to make 1 of 2. In the end he is human and these kids are under pressure that most of us wouldn’t be able to handle for one night let alone an entire season. I do hope he moves on and doesn’t let this define him. He is a 2 time champion and a major contributor of the UCONN legacy. I have been concerned with his shooting the last few weeks. He has been in a slump but he will get thru it. We need him. He’s our captain.
We all must stop talking about the past, it’s a new season and it’s time to look forward. Everyone keeps saying that we won two back to backs. Yes we did and now it’s up to the new players to make their imprint on the club.
The thing that drove me the most crazy is we had SEVERAL chances to take the lead and possibly win in the final seconds! But the 'Nova game is in the books and we will be smarter and tougher for it. We have to be locked in for Georgetown now.
We"ve won so many Natties that more than a half dozen players have won two rings. Tyler Oleander. Niels Giffey, Bazz, Tristen Newton, Cling Kong. Hass, Sampson, Alex, and baby Hurley off the top of my head. Of that exclusive group, I think Shabazz earns the "winningest Husky" title. Played 4 years, critical part of his first crown and alpha dog on the second. No disrespect, I would put AK at two on the list. A deep run in this year's tournament could flip the script. I hope so.
I avoided listening to podcasts after last night's loss. I knew there would be a lot of criticism out there in pundit-land. We were bound to lose and Villanova is much better than predicted at the beginning of the year. We'll lose a few more by the end of January, especially without Liam. I think we'll be fine.
Similar to the loss to Memphis, could have won both, Uconn takes a punch and punches back. Good to see Stuart perform well. BTW Karaban has won dozen games because of his skills, this one just got away. Its sports, be grateful we are still very very good.
Alex karaban is our captain. One bad game. He has done more for UConn than any other player. He didn’t have to come back. Just imagine if that happened? He is money when we need points. Dependable=Karaban.
