So the difference between this and a dutch braid is the french goes over and the Dutch goes under? It does give a very different look. The french looks fuller and more elegant to me and the Dutch looks sleek and smooth. I have been confused on this for so long its nice to finally realize the difference.
Tip for anyone who really doesn’t understand: So first, Take 3 chonks of your hair. start from the left, and take that left strand and put it over the middle strand. Then, take the right strand and put it over the new middle strand. And repeat the process of left strand over middle strand, right strand over middle strand and keep going like that!!! ❤✨😁

Practice definitely helps. I used to not be able to do this but once you get a feel for how your fingers need to be it gets easier. Still haven’t found a way to keep my arms from getting tired 😅

My hands are too stupid to get this right coupled with my dyslexia. No matter how hard I try I can't hold it right and the middle gets really short by like my 3rd cross over, idk how that keeps happening.

That's wild! I can do a Dutch braid all day, but just can't do French braid.
A Dutch braid is the exact same, but go under with the hair instead of over! It’s easier to me honestly! I prefer the look of a Dutch braid too!
