African Albinos in Tanzania are thought to bring bad luck because they are too white in a black community. They are discriminated against because of being an albino and having a white skin color. Life as an albino in Tanzania is hard, they are borned different from black Africans and hunted.

Albinism genetics are rampant in Tanzania, because the gene pool is very narrow. And African albinos are in trouble because they are thought to be cursed and should be hunted.
I'm with African albino girls and boys. They’re sometimes treated as animals and these kids are here to be protected from discrimination.

I'm American and have albinism, I was fortunate enough to be born and grow up in this wonderful country with so many tools and resources at my disposal. Today I am a doctor. It breaks my heart to see these children and the future they could've had had they been born in a better country.

I literally cried while watching this video, we are so ungrateful for things we have and these kids do not have anything, you know they have not a choice like us. If we do not feel well, we go and visit the doctor and take our medicine. We reallly should be thankful for the little things we have.

Hi, I’m a Tanzanian. There was a law that was passed that makes it illegal and In humane to kill an Albino. Anyone found threatening or trying to kill an albino is Imprisoned.

This makes me so sad. I'm a daughter of an albino dad who has even lost one eye due to trying so hard to see or "fix" himself, he is one of 3 albino brothers. Being albino is never easy, jobs aren't as easy because what takes a minute for us to do, takes 5 minutes for them but I never saw my dad as any less, always believed in him. Just like I believe in these children. NEVER LET YOURSELF DOWN ❤️ You may be different, everything may be super hard and getting anywhere may seem super daunting especially without support or on your own but you can do it 🤍 you are a person like anyone else who has strengths and weaknesses, find what you like to do and go for it ❤️ take advantage of your strengths, there is always a way! I hope you can find a safe place in and from this world ❣️

People of European descent, or Caucasians, do have melanin. There are two types of melanin. Eumelanin and Pheomelanin. Eumelanin produces darker tones such as tan or brown and pheomelanin produces fair or pinkish tones. “White” people DO have melanin, it’s just that the majority of it is pheomelanin. Almost everyone has a combination of both types of melanin.

As a woman with albinism in the western side of the world; watching this video was a little uncomfortable for me. I felt that you spoke of the children there as if they were some type of spectacle. Pointing to the children and examining them so closely; especially being a stranger, I can only imagine how it made them feel, probably less than a human. Like I said I completely respect your coverage on this I just felt that you gave off an impression that these children were something to be marveled at. You just can't point to human being as if they're some kind of strange things. I can see this " jounalist" is himself ignorant about the Albinism condition the moment he started to talk about creation. FYI Albinism happens when the Genes mutate in living things and this happens in the animal kingdom too. The 2 main types of Albinism is OCA1 type which is the one he's made the video about and OCA-2 type which is what himself and all the people we see today in the northern hemisphere are. The OCA1 Albinism have melanocytes which is the MELANIN producing chemical in the body but can't produce the melanin hence the white and sometimes translucent skin. The OCA-2 Albinism is the type in Caucaseans and all the people in the northern hemisphere and they also have melanocytes but in their case can only produce some or little melanin hence the reddish, yellowish skin colour we see in the Eurasia people. The black peoples melanocytes produce the RICH MELANIN IN ABUNDANCE in their skin which is distributed all over to protect the body from the sun's ultraviolet rays that can cause Cancer and kill.

Your videos are great but please try to be more respectful when visiting children like this. They already clearly feel uncomfortable with themsleves and physically waving your hand infront of someone whose trying to find their way while mostly blind or telling all of RUclips about the prognosis of a child who doesn't know they will die soon is not very respectful. These people welcome you into their lives in a vulnerable way for your channel, you should try to be very caring in how you show their vulnerabilities to the world.
