- With election fever upon us, look back to a bit of nonsense last seen during Tony Blair's first general election win as party leader. Armando Iannucci's Election Night Armistice was a spin off of his politically
topical weekly show Friday Night Armistice.
With Peter Baynham, David Schneider, Steve Coogan and many others.
1st May 1997. BBC2.
From an old VHS LP tape.

Hello to fellow B3tans!
You spoil us, randomVHStat! I love this channel.
Poor Armando, having to make the long dash from Studio TC1 where Dimbleby was based for the main BBC 1 election studio to Studio TC4 where Election Night Armistice was based. TC4 was quite a walk away in BBC Television Centre, a long walk, by Armando rushed it very well through the corridors of that great building (sadly most of it no more exists as you saw it here).
Watch more closely. It's quite clever. He didn't do it live. That whole walk was prerecorded, edited and played out on monitors to the live audience. The first live shot is him walking out of the door onto the stage.
2 hr 33 mins in... Stand up based on actual party policy. Political script writers’ jokes performed live . mentioned on armandos interview on RHLSTP
