The reason why I play RuneScape is to go back in time being young in my 14s how life was care free.. being excited to play after school with my friends and friends I made online we would literally chat outside the Lumbridge cast. I remember how my sister use to play this also.. after her passing away from cancer... I just can’t let this game go.. the lumbridge area just hits me hella hard because that’s where my sister and I would be fighting cows, goblins.. i just can’t seem to let this game go :( it’s comforting to know part of my childhood is just a simple keyboard log in 😞

I was an introvert all through junior school and tbh.. a heck of a lot of my childhood was screwed.. RuneScape was what made at least some part of my childhood great. from falling to doubling money scams to fishing lobsters at Karamja to buying my first ever Black scimitar from the swords shop at alkharid to peaking through the Taverly gate wondering how great the members' worlds are... the list goes on and on.. I don't just love RuneScape, I breathe and adore RuneScape. it's my childhood and I'm forever grateful to the Gower brothers for creating this awesome game.

I stopped playing rs when I was 12 and though I’d never bother to play it again. In high school I’d get back into it and play for a week or two every couple years but didn’t really get back to it. Then sometime when I was 26 I got really back into it and still a year and a half later I play it constantly so yeah you only take breaks in rs.
The only reason I stopped playing Runescape is because my mom stopped paying for internet for 3 YEARS because of my "runescape addiction." I only got an hour of play time per day, and my mom would time me. I would wake up at 2 or 3 am while my mom was asleep and mine rocks at Varrock. What a good feeling. Mining silver in Varrock as a kid was just a feeling I can't describe.

There may be life situations like living with certain illnesses or being crippled, that forces you to be at home on your own without anything else to do, or people to socialize with. I’m saying I quit and now I feel great, if you look up the symptoms common in video game addicts you’ll notice a lot of those symptoms actually worsen depression and can even cause the depression in the first place

I swear this game has some kind of spell in it. I played RS a little when I was like ten, basically just killed some animals near the spawn and then stopped after a while :D And just today at 22 yrs I got back into it and I feel such a strong nostalgia it's insane
I started playing again last year after having not touched RuneScape in over a decade. I built an account my pre-teen self never even thought possible, but I got bored with standing at the GE performing the same actions over and over again to skill and turn a profit. I decided that I wanted to try my own spin on the iron man deal: it can only use whatever it can make (outside of items that cannot be created by a player, in that case it must be obtained as a drop or found in the world) and interact with NPCs only as they relate to quests. It's been a breath of fresh air and I've had more fun with that account than I've had with my main in a long time.
I quit for so many years than I started playing again to keep me occupied during social distancing due to covid 19. Lmao this made staying inside more enjoyable 🤷🏽♀️
Heya J1m, You've said a couple times now that you'd like to branch out more from only RuneScape content. I think this format of you, on a greenscreen, with a microphone is your breakaway style. I can't think of anyone else with that setup. For me, you holding the mic really sets it appart for some reason. That's literally every MMORPG though lol. Stormwind in WoW, Lion's Arch in GW2, Limsa Lominsa in FFXIV, Imperial/Republic Fleets in SWTOR, you'll find so many players just standing around in these places because it's just simply what they like to do. Not everybody wants to be active playing the game.
I 'quit' RS around EOC. Just started playing OSRS again last week and oh boy OH BOY. Playing as a 30 year old is quite different. I understand the mechanics of the game more than I ever did before. My goal on my new account is to complete every quest. Been having a blast.

I went to rs3 (shares the same subscription with your osrs login btw) and the sense of amazement was there. so much new cool shit. Things to learn, things to be oblivious to.
I finally made my goal. I started back in Runescape Classic when it was hosted on the Jagex website with only 3 servers. After "Quiting" the game a few times I finally back in 2019 (its all a blur really) got all 99's. I was so happy I could move on that I held a 200m drop party and finally quit for the last time. Some months later something happened that made me worry for my future. I heard a new skill came out... Ya I will never escape this game.

I always had friends ask me "How much xp per hour" something was and I'd never know and specifically tell them I never wanted to know because it just makes it seem like it'll take forever, and honestly, if I knew I'd have to grind hundreds of hours, there is no way I'd have even started.

I never played Runescape but I experienced the SAME EXACT thing with another game, Realm of the Mad God. Rotmg is also an mmorpg and it's super simple yet super addictive, it's impossible to quit, I had "breaks" of up to 3 years and always came back.

I swear this game has some kind of spell in it. I played RS a little when I was like ten, basically just killed some animals near the spawn and then stopped after a while :D And just today at 22 yrs I got back into it and I feel such a strong nostalgia it's insane

I started playing again last year after having not touched RuneScape in over a decade. I built an account my pre-teen self never even thought possible, but I got bored with standing at the GE performing the same actions over and over again to skill and turn a profit. I decided that I wanted to try my own spin on the iron man deal: it can only use whatever it can make (outside of items that cannot be created by a player, in that case it must be obtained as a drop or found in the world) and interact with NPCs only as they relate to quests. It's been a breath of fresh air and I've had more fun with that account than I've had with my main in a long time.
I quit for so many years than I started playing again to keep me occupied during social distancing due to covid 19. Lmao this made staying inside more enjoyable 🤷🏽♀️

You've said a couple times now that you'd like to branch out more from only RuneScape content. I think this format of you, on a greenscreen, with a microphone is your breakaway style. I can't think of anyone else with that setup. For me, you holding the mic really sets it appart for some reason.
I think after some time you can just stand there with your mic and talk about whatever you want with any topic floating around you in the background. Looking forward to whatever you produce!

Stormwind in WoW, Lion's Arch in GW2, Limsa Lominsa in FFXIV, Imperial/Republic Fleets in SWTOR, you'll find so many players just standing around in these places because it's just simply what they like to do. Not everybody wants to be active playing the game.
I 'quit' RS around EOC. Just started playing OSRS again last week and oh boy OH BOY. Playing as a 30 year old is quite different. I understand the mechanics of the game more than I ever did before.
My goal on my new account is to complete every quest. Been having a blast.

Played this game for years on OSRS but had to quit when I realized I'm wasting my time grinding on that game. Still addicted to video games and unable to get myself to do productive stuff as consistently as I want to, but I'm not so hardcore invest as I was with runescape.
I think we all realized this. I started playing this back in middle school. That was 2003-2004. Haven't touched it in a year. As you say, I'm still into video games, but ladies and money take most of my time. No regrets my friend.

Randomly found this video after i started playing runescape again and i'm glad i did. Thought it was a great video and think your a funny dude. You get a sub from me :D Also your right about never actually quitting. I played when i was in middle school and now i came back at 28 and i'm playing an ironman account and i'm loving it. Every level i gain feels rewarding because i have to earn everything myself and it's a really nice experience.

Stopped playing over 11 years ago. My younger brother told me he was playing, I asked him to send me his login info, took his pure made it into a zerk without telling him lol. I am a 29 year old man with a business and fiancé, and I still pk every other night, with a cigar in my mouth and McAllan scotch next to my keyboard, I love pkn, I forgot how much fun it was, sometimes I am about to break the damn pc tho lol, my fiancé thinks I am pathetic, told her not to touch my game or I’ll break up with her. That’s the story of my life with RuneScape, I love and hate the game but never can quit it, the same story with my fiancé lol.

I finally made my goal. I started back in Runescape Classic when it was hosted on the Jagex website with only 3 servers.
After "Quiting" the game a few times I finally back in 2019 (its all a blur really) got all 99's. I was so happy I could move on that I held a 200m drop party and finally quit for the last time.
Some months later something happened that made me worry for my future.
I heard a new skill came out...
Ya I will never escape this game.

not me. the grinding is ridiculously long and you dont even get decent rewards. rewards are based on lucky drops. runescape is garbage and I cannot believe I wasted 1000+ hours on it.

Just take it for what it is, and don't take things too seriously. Grinds are super fun but so is bankstanding and chatting total shit with some rando that you'll never see again. Embrace it.
I always had friends ask me "How much xp per hour" something was and I'd never know and specifically tell them I never wanted to know because it just makes it seem like it'll take forever, and honestly, if I knew I'd have to grind hundreds of hours, there is no way I'd have even started.

This is a great video. I played for about 5-6 years from middle to highschool. Came back when OSRS came out, for about maybe 3 months. I haven't played now in a few years but I still check my main account from time to time... I also have passwords for like 5 other random accounts and who knows what happened to those.

I enjoyed runescape for a long time, especially the quests. It felt like the most engaging and well thought out quest system i have still ever seen. But i just don't have the time for the grind. :(
Most fun I ever had on runescape was pre-oc dropping acid and for that whole trip just doing corp in maxed gear.

I never played Runescape but I experienced the SAME EXACT thing with another game, Realm of the Mad God.
Rotmg is also an mmorpg and it's super simple yet super addictive, it's impossible to quit, I had "breaks" of up to 3 years and always came back.
